I wish the late, lamented gymnastics soap Make It Or Break It had survived into the Olympics, because it would have been so awesome to see them parlay the actual drama (Jordyn loses out on the all-arounds! Gabby wins gold but flops in the event finals! Aly Raisman comes out of nowhere! McKayla did the single best vault I have ever seen, at team finals, and then sat down when it was her turn to go for the medal! Then she was not impressed!) into an eight-episode fictional arc. I’m sure Cassie Scerbo here is probably plenty happy not to be wearing a leotard every day, nor have to stand on a balance beam and act like it isn’t hot, holy terror.
But she might want to be careful about using her clothes to agitate for a Batgirl series. Capes can be so cumbersome, and itchy masks can be murder on a girl’s pores.

I think she’s just enjoying the opportunity to wear non-aerodynamic clothing. Also, I’m so glad that someone else cares about the late, lamented Make It Or Break It! I spent most of the gymnastics events this summer comparing the team to my MIOBI girls. Gabby Douglas = Emily pre-pregnancy? Jordyn Wieber = Kelly Parker? McKayla = Lauren? Aly Raisman = Payson? I could go on.
ME. TOO. I compared them all, and missed them desperately. I can’t believe they cancelled MIOBI before they got to the Olympics. THAT WAS THE POINT, ABC FAMILY.
Me three. I loved that show so much. Every time I watched womens gymnastics during the Olympics, I realized how much I miss the show.
The outfit kind of reminds me of Wilma Flintstone.
Maybe she’s campaigning for the lead in a soap about stabby ice-dancers.
NO CAPES!
I can’t fug this. I mean, it’s not rocking my world and it’s a little short…
But it’s basic black, it fits her form, all the body parts that need to be covered ARE covered, and her hair/makeup is fine.
I find it preferable to this http://gofugyourself.com/fug-or-fab-keha-05-2012
It ‘s not good–too short, single strap, cape hem looks stretched out–and it’s a single shoulder cape thingy.

I feel like I have a support group here to help me mourn the premature loss of MIOBI. Damned if a little voice inside my head did not correct Bob Costas…”it’s OH-lympics, dude, because that random coach in that random final season said so!”
Glad I’m not the only adult for whom MIOBI was a secret guilty pleasure. I still can’t believe they didn’t give us a few Oh-lympic episodes when they aired a season that was *right before the actual Olympics.* I read an interview with Gabby Douglas saying she and the other girls on the team actually watched and were fans of MIOBI, which amused me.
As for Cassie’s dress – for her, it’s not bad. In general, her dress sense loses a few points for presentation
.
How impractical is that sheer sleeve cape thingy, anyway?
A new girl once joined our department at work while I was on holiday. I returned and on that day new girl was wearing a cape (black, with pantherfur lining), which was a great way to get an impressive first impression. My colleague was complaining about her and all I could respond with was: “She wears a cape to work! how bad can it be?!”
Very.
