Andrea Zuckermanly Played, Gabrielle Carteris

Points of interest:

1) Gabrielle “Andrea Zuckerman” Carteris IS ALIVE.

2) And she looks almost exactly the same as she did in 1993. This is the benefit of playing a teenager when you are approximately 35. When you are actually 50, you look comparatively spring-chicken-y.

3) Where ever fictional Andrea Zuckerman is today, I bet you $100 this is actually exactly what she is wearing. I also bet that she’s yelling at someone about something sanctimoniously. It’s okay, Andrea: They deserve it.

From the neck up, she’s beautiful, even without lipstick, but that is the kind of wretched thing they had us pregnant women wear in 1994, complete with the thick beads and the overtwee kitten bow. Is this person expecting, or has she lost a bet?

I seriously thought she was pregnant. This is….I just…honey, no.
It brings up memories of thrift store runs with Mom in 1998, where she’d cackle and hold up dresses like that and yell, “no wonder somebody gave it away!”

This dress is simultaneously matronly and twee-ly juvenile. Fail. She’s cute, though.

That’s exactly it. The bow is spectacularly stupid and twee, and the length and shape are frumpy. And the pearls make it very Stepford.

I cannot believe her hairstyle hasn’t even changed. This look is mom stuck in a rut to the Nth degree!

Never watched the show, but I know who she is, and I think she looks good. Like what a normal person would wear to an event. Clean, covered, flattering color.

I’m a normal person. You couldn’t get me to wear that to an awards event if I had the flu.

        Same here, Eliza.

I can’t believe I never realized this before, but Gabrielle is just a few years younger than my mom. I mean….wow.

Ditto. The bodice is too tight (are those stomach rolls?) and very few people can wear a full skirt like that and not look well WIDE and stumpy.

I can’t believe she’s even wearing pearls. Maybe she’s going to the same costume party Katy Perry is attending.

This look just fills me with red-eyed rage. It’s so fricken Stepford that I just want to stab something.

Her face looks fabulous however the dress is very June Cleaver. Neck to toe.

I always think of that character and start singing, “Zuckerman’s famous pig” from the animated “Charlotte’s Web”. I can’t help the connection in my brain.
And now I want a pet talking pig.

“Fine swine, wish he was mine….” I adore everything about the animated version of Charlotte’s Web.

      That’s one terrific, radiant, humble,
      Thing-a-ma-jig of a pig!

Though the best song by far was Paul Lynde’s Templeton, singing “A Fair is a veritable smorgasborg (orgasborg, orgasborg) after the crowds have ceased! Each night when the lights go down it can be found, on the ground, ALL AROUND! OH! What a ratly feast!”

This dress is VILE. As noted, both matronly and twee, complete with Barbara Bush pearls and PTA hair. Shoot me if I ever dress like this.

ummm why I have not SEEN THIS yet? I love that book. I’m getting that movie on amazon right the Hades now.

        Holy flashbacks…

The world needs another Paul Lynde!!

        (Dress is horrible, full stop.)

Wow. She really looks like Debbie Reynolds – very twee 50s girl-lady-mum. I’d never made the connection before…

When is she breaking into song, and sweeping (not yet out-of-the-closet) Rock Hudson off his feet?

I don’t often say this (Boobs Legsly has cured me of that), but WTF?!

She can’t be 50. That makes me feel so old I want to cry.

Ditch the bow and pearls and it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world.

    Hey Andrea Zuckerman!

“You’re pretty cute without your glasses.”

    (Sorry … couldn’t resist) :)

I love Gabby, but this reminds me of Ann B. Davis as Alice on the Brady Bunch. (Love Ann B. Davis too, but this dress, as a print, with an apron was basically Alice’s wardrobe on that show).

I admit I like the dress, but I’m fond of the retro look, so I’m a bit biased. I do think it could use some fitting out in the torso area, though. It looks like it’s bunching a bit around the waist.

I could live without the bow, but that’s a tiny nitpick for an otherwise good look.

I admit to a complete weakness for this style and would totally wear it, not caring that it’s matronly because I am a matron. That said, it’s doing something wonky around the midsection/groinal region. Maybe it’s the way she is standing or perhaps she needed better foundation garments.

I feel like a modified version of this dress would be worn by 2007 era Kirsten Dunst

    Too 50′s costume looking.

She looks like Reba. Except Reba is looking way better.
