Can you imagine how intimidating it  must have been to see Carine Roitfeld (formerly of French Vogue) show up at your fashion show wearing, essentially, a sleep mask?

I mean, THAT sends a message. Forget your sunglasses, Wintour. THIS is the power move. I look forward to seeing how Anna retaliates. Possibly by encasing herself in a tinted hyperbaric chamber.

      Indeed, maybe she had Lasik. I had to wear something similar for 2-3 days afterwards.

    Night vision goggles are clearly next. I can recommend the military-grade ones, and those two ought to be able to afford them.

    If these are sunglasses, rather than goggles of some sort, I think this may be the exception to the rule that sunglasses make you look sexier.

    Fresh from the Yoko Ono collection? She may have lost her carry-on with her makeup, but she could have found a comb anywhere.

      Yes, if you go to an airport info desk they have little emergency kits with combs!

    Are we sure this isn’t some high-fashion ode to Top Gun? Because I’m afraid the scroll-down will reveal a fashion-forward onesie flight-suit to go with her military-spec wrap-arounds.

      Are we sure she didn’t just land her helicopter on the roof? Because that would explain a lot.

      A fashion ode to Top Gun would have more style than this. Their aviators were much better and though Charlie had frizzy hair, girl worked a seamed stocking.

    I’m sorry to report that my Google-Fu is weak today. I cannot come up with any reason for these glasses, other than fashion. (They are being referred to as Aviators. Except I know some professional aviators. They wouldn’t wear these.)

    The only thing I can think is that she was trying to keep in theme with Jean Paul Gaultier’s show – the theme being an homage to pop stars of the 80′s. I can’t remember any pop star being related to aviators in the 80′s, though. Tom Cruise from Top Gun, yes, but not pop stars.
