My favorite thing about this photograph is Red Bow Tie in the background who is all, “awwwwwwwwwwwwwww yeaaaaaaaaaaaaah” at Lake Bell here:
Whereas I really want to go up to her and ask her what is actually going on. From the chest up, she looks great. From the knees down, I’m not mad at her. But…I still have so many questions. The middle part there, are those blown-out pleats (blowing out a pleat is the sartorial version of an athlete blowing out his knee: impossible to make an on-the-fly recovery from, and a situation which will require the attention of an expert)? Can she even walk in that thing? Is it too small? Is she just standing weird? Would she be interested in having a glass of wine with Red Bow Tie after the event? How does she feel about Peyton Manning playing for the Broncos? Weird, right? What’s her take on cilantro? What is happening here with this dress, just in general? Bill Hader: insufficiently famous for his talent level? What’s the deal with candy corn? Why is this outfit doing that thing with those parts? Etc.

No question. Cilantro is the devils weed.
Indeed.
No question. Cilantro is the devil’s weed.
Am I the only one who thought she was standing with a cane at first glance?!
Nope, I did too! Weird.
And I agree with Sweetsinger, the Librarian Hair needs to go.
No question: cilantro makes everything better. She might want to give some to her tailor…
What’s pulling this look apart is the Librarian Hair.
Yeah, the dress design is bad from the waist to the knees. So, close, though. That is a amazing color.
Bill Hader IS insufficiently famous for his talent level. He kills me; he’s so, so, so good and somehow has flown stealth all these years. I kid you not, I just said something along these lines to my boyfriend last night.
I’m with you! Bill Hader is amazing.
Agree!!
if it just draped from the brooch, it would be perfection!
This looks exactly like a Costco-made Barbie dress that I used to have. And I love it!! I wish she had more/better hair and makeup though.
Im too distracted my her Doll Hair to focus on the dress.

Yup. It looks like lego hair that could all pop off as a single unit…
Lake, say no to wine with Red Bow Tie. But Cilantro is delicious!
It’s a little odd, but looks just like something Lucy Ricardo would have worn to listen to Ricky sing Baba Loo at the club So I like it.
The sparkly thing on her torso looks like a cross between Godzilla and a paramecium.
hee hee… I thought it might be a starfish at first glance. But I like yours much better!
For the record, I LOVE cilantro, and so does my guinea pig.
As for Lake, I would put it down to the Evils of Satin. Yeah.
But outside of the “zone of strange pleatage” and the hair, this is 75% pure Old Hollywood glamour.
Not digging the hair. At all. But I do love the color on her, amazing!! The epaulets need to go as do the blown out pleats….
1) There seem to be elements of two separate dress of the same color at work here. They do not play well together.
2) Cilantro is full-on fab. Especially with a little lime juice added.
3) On behalf of my profession, don’t blame that hair on us.
I like the dress, somehow it’s her horrid hair colour that ruins the whole look for me.
The color is glorious, but what is that dress supposed to look like?
There is nothing I like about this dress. Or cilantro.
Dress has such a beautiful color but is betrayed by ridiculous puffy sleeves and the bejeweled scorpion (you know how scorpions roll.) Extra demerits for encrustation of jewelry but mimimal DIY makeup. Not to mention “blown-out pleats” indeed. Yuk look overall.
BTW, here’s why some people love cilantro (me, love the stuff) and others hate it (tastes like soap or bugs):
“The green parts of the plant that gives us coriander seeds seem to inspire a primal revulsion among an outspoken minority of eaters.”

I’ll meet your link with another:
Whether or not you like cilantro is actually genetic. No, really:

Hey, hey. Those of us here in Bronco land are VERY happy Peyton is ours now.
If she has no interest in Red Bow Tie, I’m free next Friday night. Just saying.
Ahahahahahaha! I am 97% positive I know Red Bow Tie! Just sent him a note on FB to confirm….
I want to see what this looks like when she’s standing straight. Although, you really should be able to walk (& pose) in a dress without completely destroying it’s lines. Oh & yes, Peyton belongs back here in Indiana with the Colts
Where’s Larry Hagman? He should be in a scene with anyone wearing this.
Going by Red Bow Tie, I really feel like we need to see this from the back.
I thought she was sitting down and sliding forward, like on a too-tall bar stool. Hair WHAT.
it’s not see through, so I like it.
Well I suppose there was a guy called River so I guess this woman can be called Lake. I hope her younger sibling isn’t called Puddle.
She needs better makeup. The makeup in this photo looks too “every day.”
Is this formal maternity wear?
