I know, I know. But we’re still waiting for people to come out of their Olympics comas (god bless you, Total Recall, for your endless array of premieres). And so in the meantime I present Elisabetta Canalis.
The thing is, this isn’t even necessarily inherently fugly. In fact, I think I would really love this if the top were fully lined. It’s not even the cleav that’s distracting, although I do feel sort of pervy when I look at it; no, it’s that I can see her navel, which is almost always a terrible idea unless you are at the beach. Sigh. Don’t let desperation ruin a perfectly cute minidress.
But really, this was all just a thin excuse to post this photo of her with her new boyfriend, Steve-O of Jackass.
I mean, maybe it’s true love, but I just… Do we feel like these two have ever actually had a conversation of any kind?

Indeed. Like, it would be hard for ANYONE to follow Clooney. But you think you could find a middle ground?
Living in the flyover states, I’ve never actually seen a movie premiere. Are they all that…anticlimatic? A bunch of people standing in front of the movie poster, but are steps away from actual street?
(And yes, she looks great, etc., and I actually kind of like that shirt.)

Yes! They are all like that! I went to UCLA and ended up at premieres a time or two, and if you look at pics of Westwood, you can see that they literally just block off sidewalks around the theatres and lay down a red carpet and put up stanchions. It’s can be fun to get swept up in it, but in actuality, it’s just a sidewalk.

Thanks to my job, I know that these two are both strident supporters of PETA (Steve-O is also a vegan, although I don’t know if that’s also true about Elisabetta). I can only assume that these two bonded over their mutual love of animal rights. Which would actually be kind of a sweet story…
Maybe they bonded as People Who Got Booted Off Dancing With The Stars Embarrassingly Early? I know, I know, I should be ashamed for even knowing this.
I never really got her; she always just looked sort of uncomfortable to me when she was dating Clooney. Like she was in over her head and just ended up being swallowed by the Clooney girlfriend machine, and had no personality of her own left. So she looks GREAT here to me! I absolutely wish the dress were lined, and I totally think that aspect of the dress makes her look desperate. BUT! She is working her smile and her face, and looks like she may actually have a personality!
I really liked Steve-O in his documentary (Demise and Rise). I actually kind of want these two to work. I think he’s probably a lot more fun and a lot less work than Clooney. I suspect many of Clooney’s ladies never get to feel comfortable in his world and obviously he’s not going to theirs. And in these pictures I think she looks happy and a lot more relaxed.
If the dress were fully lined it would be a Well Played without question. So I think she only deserves 1/2 Fug, really. And I agree, king, although Clooney is gorgeous and dapper and charming, I think dating him would be so much work. Constant work, even. Steve-O is a lot more like the super fun guy you dated after the guy you thought you’d marry dumped you and you needed someone to make you feel good about yourself and just be fun. That’s a run-on, I see, but I had my own Steve-O and he was awesome, if a bit rough around the edges.
I had no idea who she was before Clooney and all I know about her now is what I’ve learned from pictures. I always thought she seemed like a classy lady (maybe that was the Clooney effect?) so this pairing seems so strange to me. Weirder still that I think they’ve been together for a while now.
As for the dress, I agree. A little less sheer and it would be great.
If this wasn’t sheer I would wear this in a heartbeat.

I like the dress and the shoes are cute, but she has no curves, so the drop-waist dress doesn’t work for her; she needs to wear dresses that are cinched at the natural waist, so it is defined and there’s the illusion of an hourglass figure! As is, she looks as straight as a board… What would you prefer people to say when they see you: “She looks like a Diet-Coke bottle” or “She looks like a 2″ x 4″?
Wait, why is Canalis even at a premiere, on the red carpet ?
I realize this is a really odd thing to notice, but I’m just pleased that she’s standing in a normal person posture, not that goofy-ass, cross-legged pose that they all strike on the red carpet b/c it’s supposed to make already skinny women look even thinner. They always look to me like they’re tripping themselves and getting ready to fall over, in an effort to create a leaner line. I like that she is just…..standing.

This is a gossipy post, but – I thought they broke up because he’s all sober and straight now and she’s still powdering her nose? I could have sworn I read something months ago about how his friends were concerned she was a bad influence on him and they had broken up. Because this isn’t a new situation between the two of them. Perhaps the originally hit it off partying together….
I was really confused by seeing them together as well. She had this weird interview in an Italian magazine where she was all “Clooney was great but Steve-O is the one that got away and I miss him.”
And that was the first and last time that I ever heard of them as a couple until right now.
