As soon as I saw Sofia’s dress, I was back at my senior prom in 2003, and she was the requisite majorette who showed up wasted in a slutty dress. Do. Not. Want.
Hyland’s dress was…not offensively Marchesa-y. Winter’s was definitely my fave of the MF girls’.

I love the color of Sophia’s dress and even though it’s boobalicious, it fits beautifully. Wish it didn’t have the cut out in the back– Vegas den mother is right.
Bowen– the color is interesting and I’m glad she stuck with a more basic silhouette, because it could have easily moved into fug territory otherwise. The hair needs help, though.
The two younger girls look great, though I hate the shoes that Ariel is wearing. Too clumpy and old for her.
I LOVE chartreuse, and the cut of Julie Bowen’s dress, but I’m not sure it’s her, but I love the colour so much it’s all I can see. That hair is between Ms. Bowen and her god.
Sophia Vergara is an ambitious woman who is making the most of her opportunities and assets. I can hardly begrudge her the LOOK AT ME EVEN MORE clothing. It works to get the attention she wants.
Sophia’s dress would have been PERFECT if the front of the bodice had been collarbone-height. That dramatic back with a modest front? To die. But seriously, Tits McAssCleave is a fashion Don’t in my book.

Sophia’s is shiny so of course I’m drawn like a moth to a flame plus she’s not afraid of color and I like that about her.
Julie- kudos for trying, the color is interesting but would’ve looked better on someone with darker hair and her hair is a mess.

Lhuilliers I think are always about very simple lines in awesome fabric. Think that magnificent textured mossy green ballgown of CZJ’s at the Globes after Michael Douglas’ cancer announcement or SMG’s splotched/tye-died thing. Simple dresses, intriguing colors. I can live with that.
Don’t forget little Aubrey Anderson-Emmons. She looked adorable! And apparently, the little stuffed animal she had with her had a matching skirt. I think that is so charming.
Julie’s hair is what mine looks like after hot yoga. The sad thing is, she probably PAID someone to do that to her hair.

I prefer Julie’s hair to the slicked-back, severe look. That flatters pretty much nobody. The chartreuse dress is fabulous and I hate strapless. Ariel is wearing the dream dress up dress of every little gal under the age of fifteen. Too bad about the hoof-shoes. The grey suede would have been perfect in a simple pump.
My own personal hair is not at its best right now and it looks just like hers, so yeah, that hair is not good enough to go to the Emmys!
I am giving passes on hair since it was 125 degrees on the red carpet. Her hair may not have looked like that when the stylist finished it.
I hate, hate, HATE chartreuse but I must admit Ms. Bowen is carrying it off the best of everyone who sported it last night.
Wardrobe malfunction aside, I adore Sofia’s dress. That is pretty much my favourite shade of blue, and it’s sparkly to boot. She is the only woman on earth who could wear it, but I’m so glad she did.
Sarah looked amazing and she always seem to pick simple, lovely dresses. I want to go shopping with her.

Ugh, that hair on Julie. Well, it was kind humid in L.A. yesterday!
We were at Disneyland last winter when Modern Family was filming an episode there. Julie passed us at one point — no entourage!, she’s about a thimble-wide, maybe she chose the dress to help her stand out in her MF crowd. I think she pulled off that color surprisingly nicely. As for Sofia, wow. Even though it’s pagenty, on her it looks lovely. Yes the back is a bit much. But it’s still such an overall luscious image. I admit it, I’m in awe of her looks.
Sofia and Ariel both look GREAT. I never like anything Julie Bowen wears on the carpet…what’s up with that? It’s not always even the dresses, it’s something about her styling and the fit for her body…? Mystery.
