Jessica Biel just gave an interview saying that Justin Timberlake basically tells her what to wear. In my imagionation, this translates to her walking out of the closet and him doing portions of the “Bye, Bye, Bye” dance whenever he dislikes a choice. I mean, if you’re going to be the guy who looks at his lady when she’s all dressed up and then just shakes his head no, you’d better do it amusingly and with a self-mocking wink at your own poorly coiffed past.
All of which is just a preamble to an outfit about which I have little to say.
It’s fine. It’s white. It’s balletic. It’s tight. It might crush her boobs a little. Cameron Diaz probably wishes she’d worn it first. Maybe JT had it picked out for her a few years ago and they never got around to it. I like the hair and makeup, but the rest of it evokes an even simpler version of the all-white she wore to the MTV Movie Awards, as if she’s been told to adhere to a color story of utmost purity (or she’s just trying to remind everyone that she IS going to be a BRIDE, dammit, OH YES, HE WILL WALK DOWN THAT AISLE.
But although I’m having trouble caring about the outfit itself, I do have to give her bonus points for — again, much like at the MTV event — spicing it up with the footwear:
They’re like shoes with giant highlighters jammed over the heel. I love it. They’re cute AND they’d keep you from getting plowed by a car while crossing the street at night. Fashionable road safety: Everyone wins.

SHe looks like milk maid gone crossing guard. I just can’t.
This reminds me of a tennis dress — one that Serena would wear much more fiercely at Wimbledon.
P.S. If Justin indeed tells her what to wear — she should fire him as a stylist.
Plus, it’s just creepy.
“This reminds me of a tennis dress — one that Serena would wear much more fiercely at Wimbledon.”
Except that, true to Wms. Sisters form, Serena would add a touch of color to it where Wimbledon-appropriate and make it juuuuuust a bit more revealing. Venus, however, would likely keep it as-is. She’s always kept it fairly classic at Wimbledon and I love that about her.
HONK! I love a full skirt and some neon splashed on an unassuming heel! I usually bleh her choices, but I’m on board here.
I agree! I love this look. I think it is simple enough that it keeps the focus on her amazing body. Her waist looks tiny, her girls look perky, and the shoes are so fun. This is the best I have seen her bangs look as well. She looks great, IMO.
Totally agree! It’s a total win for her.
The waist is too high, the skirt is too short, the bodice is too tight. Three strikes and you’re out.
Yes, all of this. I have issues with the shoes too. The pop of color is good, but otherwise they’re just the same old platform hooves everybody is wearing, in white instead of beige. Also, I hate the ankle straps. Unless those are not connected to the shoes and she’s wearing tie-wraps around her ankles. Because if he’s outfitting her with things that cops use when they haven’t enough hand-cuffs to go around, she really needs to think about that before taking any vows.
Co-signed. The dress is cute, but the proportions are totally wrong on her. It probably would have looked a lot more fabulous on someone about 6 inches shorter, like Reese Witherspoon.
Also agree on the shoes: not much there. In fact, a bit too clunky for a streamlined and girly dress And…accessories? Anyone? Anyone? Simple little earrings and a bracelet, that’s all I ask. *sigh*
This is going to sound harsh but I feel so blah when I look at her and it’s totally because of her blah blah blahhhh makeup.
I would sacrifice color from her outfit to get some color on that face. Or lighten that hair. Something!
Ugh, just looking at what that is doing to her boobs hurts. Go up a size!! Or, just get another dress!
For her, I think she looks great. The shoes are simply awesome. The dress could be a bit bigger and slightly longer, but I think her hair looks beautiful. Overall, this is well done (for her).
if this dress was a little bigger all around I’d be all over it. – for JB here …it would have to be a lot bigger all around for me to be all over it for myself.
I was all set to complain about the Minnie Mouse shoes, until we got the side pic. Yay!
I am only a few years older than her, but I feel like this is too short/too young for her. I feel bad saying it, but that is how I feel.
Totally agree. Very cute look, just not right on her.
I totally agree.
love the look, but on someone like, selena gomez
I agree too, I think this is cute for a teen.
Well now I know what to do with my dried out yellow highlighter pens – turn them into heels on my shoes. Skirt is too full to be wearing that short. Just a little longer would make it less pre-teen-birthday-party and more grown-up-girl looking hot.
this seems very unfug it up to me. a size up, an inch longer, COLOR! and we are in business.
Dress is a little short, but I need those shoes in my own closet.
Cute on somebody other than her (Victoria Beckham?). She’s too severe/big (NOT fat, but she’s a bigger, buffer girl) for it.
Why do they keep trying to make this girl famous? She’s so BORING she even makes fluorescent colors droll. This is a total YAWN.
I really like the dress, but she didn’t match her face and head to it. She needs to look a little younger, a little fresher up top, maybe? And if that’s not possible, maybe it was the wrong choice.
(And I hate the shoes).
If it fit, I might like it better – but most of me feels like it’s too young for her and would look better on Dakota Fanning or Selena Gomez.
Hah — those shoes make me think of a recent-ish edition of Everyday by Rachael Ray in which readers were instructed on how to spray-paint the bottoms of their shoes bright colors. I like the unexpected color, and yet — it’s kinda cheesy-looking. The dress is too tight and too short for her. It throws off the proportions of her obviously lovely physique and smooshes her boobs.
I hate her hair! So much suck on an otherwise cute outfit. Although it does seem a little young for her…
Jessica Biel is a black hole of bordom.
Amen!
Good on you JT for selecting those shooze.
Waist too high, bodice too tight, skirt too short and a bit too full. The So- Quirky- They’re- ZooeyDechanel’s shoes are cute in their own right, but the dress needs a pop more color, like a red belt? or blue?
The original runway version of the dress was in blue and white, and it would have looked much better on JB. I actually like the shoes quite a bit.
Big improvement over past pathetic misses, but still evidence that she is completely unaware of how best to accentuate her assets.
Wow, you weren’t kidding about the highlighters! I kind of like this, but I think it needs to be bigger in the bust, at least. I also agree that with this style, I think the length should be longer– she’s looking almost twee in the first picture. While I like the pop of color to the heel, I hate that the rest of the shoe is white.
OMG I SLEPT FIVE MINUTES AND IT’S ALREADY NEW YEAR’S EVE?
Skirt’s too poofy, shoes’re too heavy.
Make the bodice fit and with any of these:
1) properly positioned waistline
2) longer skirt / less crinoline
3) flat sandals
it would be much cuter.
It looks like a little girl dress – I mean literally, like a dress made for a 10 year old that she managed to squeeze into.
Six inches longer with better tailoring at the bust and it would probably look lovely..on Diane Kruger.
Is this not the same dress that Britney wore to the XFactor auditions a few weeks ago?
Fab. Except for her fiancee, who gives me the creeps.
The poof + length makes it twee. Twee is bad.
I think she is so pretty, and I love her girl next door image, because I think it is real, that is why I think her clothes never match her personality. I want to see her in great casual faded jeans and a faded navy t shirt and tennis shoes. That is all I can imagine on her and all I want to see her in. And her beauty would shine. She’s just not a girly girl. She’s an athletic guys best friend girl. How does one dress that up? Please tell me and I will listen.
Amen! Oh, and I don’t know how someone “dresses up” a girl with that laidback personality without having her look uncomfortable in her skin. She would probably be happier in an Old Navy summer maxi dress of appropriate fit/size/color with a pair of comfy flat or gladiator sandals.
I like everything but the shoes! The dress is FAB, although she should’ve gone up a size! And, the hair & makeup are flawless, like her!
This dress is too young for her.
The dress is too young but it could certainly be made more appropriate with a few minor changes:
1. An inch or two of length on the hem
2. The blue and white version would have looked even more amazing with the shoes, and a lot less ballerina/wanna-be bride
3. A bold lipstick colour, or a single but stunning piece of jewellery.
This is ridiculous. It’s too short, and it looks like a doll’s/little girl’s dress. Huge fail to the point of being embarrassing.
Hair too dark. Skirt too short.
I love the dress and would covet it myself. The shoes are also great, I love the surprise yellow heel. It’s just the bangs. She always looks like she cannot see from under them. And maybe more colour on her lips? Her and Jennifer Garner have really great lips, I just wish they’d wear colour and not beige. (Anyone else think Jessica is close to becoming the new “Beige” as Lainey calls Jennifer Garner? Both are just so boring)
So I can meet the man of my dreams at Agelover .COM and then have Taxi Dave party drive us home. Sounds like a win-win.
Mutton dressed as lamb.
Hi,
I love your blog. You should continue.
Anyways, I was wondering if it would be okay for you to link me to your blog..
I hope you’d consider…=)

This is bad, reminds me of Marion Cotillard’s teenager dress a week or so back.
Give the dress to Hailee Steinfeld or Chloe Moretz, please.
lengthen the dress, make it a LITTLE less tight up top, make it a color and there ya go!
She’s not 15 anymore, is she? Nope, don’t like the shoes (neon yellow? Really?) and although the dress is really really cute she’s simply too old for it.
She looks like that time when i was 12 and i thought i could still wear my favorite dress from when i was 9.
She looks very nice; I wish the skirt was just a teensy bit longer.
