Somewhere around the time Mischa Barton was hospitalized, she wore this; now that she’s claiming she was just suffering from extreme wisdom-tooth pain, I feel no guilt about resurrecting it, because hey, if she’s playing the game, then so will I.

I actually went to the Wikipedia page for “String Theory,” in the hopes of making a relevant joke, but my eyes glazed over and I had to stop reading so that I might weep for the brain cells I’ve lost over the years. It might as well have been written in Urdu. The best I can come up with is, “I guess this is what you SHOULD wear if you’re trying to bring Leonard Susskind’s string into a state of relative excitation!” For me, it just brought back wicked Cat’s Cradle flashbacks, and also made me wonder how long it takes to put it on — like, do you have to re-wrap your arms every time? Once you’ve wrapped one, isn’t it awfully uncomfortable to reach up to the other shoulder and do the other one? Don’t the strings tighten and chafe? Do you need a string wrangler?
Maybe all that is why she relaxes in something like this:

That might be a horribly unflattering, workmanlike jumpsuit, the likes of which should only be seen on somebody who is about to sand and varnish her dining table, but at least it’s SIMPLE.
Camilla Belle, on the other hand, spent the year wearing the kind of edgy stuff Mischa probably should have been wearing, had she not decided to try and tempt Yoichiro Nambu’s massless bosons:
From the side this looked super funky, like she was floating in with the wind. But from this angle it just looks like the designer had a duck-bill fetish and a penchant for bows.
And this one evokes a Bollywood musical about the San Diego Zoo. It’s a head-scratcher. But can it beat Mischa’s attempt to get Holger Bech Nielsen’s chiral fermions all up in her lattice?
What other reasonable conclusion is there?
(6) BEYONCE vs. (11) PHOEBE PRICE
The funny thing about Phoebe Price is, 80 percent of what she wears, I could as easily see on the likes of Katy Perry — like this little costume — or perhaps Rihanna, or some other person of far greater fame. I mean, come on, aren’t you a tiny but surprised that Lindsay Lohan hasn’t gone out in something akin to this?

And yet because it’s Phoebe, and her chief claim to fame seems to be entertaining the photographers who are stuck on Robertson Blvd. all afternoon waiting for real celebrities to stagger out of The Ivy or Kitson or Chanel, it all takes on an air of ridiculous desperation. Which is not necessarily that far apart from any of these other people — it’s really just oxygen that’s flavored a hair differently. Someone like Rihanna (I assume) wears things to amuse herself, because she knows no matter what she’s going to get attention; Phoebe wears things SOLELY to get attention. And also to avoid nudity, I guess. But remember last year at Cannes? Nobody wears any of that because they think it’s super stylish.
Of course, Beyonce is a major superstar, and she is no stranger to things that are loud. I also can’t figure out WHAT she was thinking with this one:
It’s not really whimsical, so that rules out The Rihanna Defense, a.k.a., I Am Bored And Want To Laugh. And although it’s Balmain, it’s doesn’t seem particularly edgy to me, thus eliminating the Cate Blanchett Defense — which is, Hey, It Looked Awesome On The Runway, So I Figured Once I Removed The Helmet Made Of Cheese And The Frog On The Crotch I Thought It Might Work. In fact, this looks pretty much exactly as it did on the runway: Like a minidress wrapped in drapes.
(7) MAGGIE GYLLENHAAL vs. (10) KATE BOSWORTH
This dress is so bad, I’ve been shuddering about it ever since we posted it during Oscar week.
It is just RELENTLESSLY unflattering, as if her shoulders have been turned inside out and are now melting all over the rest of her body. But of course, Maggie does not have the monopoly on badly adorned frocks. Consider her opponent, Kate Bosworth:
I didn’t realize there was a market for outfits with a built-in lead apron. Or are x-ray machines on the red carpet just THAT much stronger these days?
In general, both these ladies tend to be thought of as fashionable, and when they nail it, they NAIL IT. But when they don’t, they look washed-out and tragic (ahem, KATE), or as if they’re about to strap on a bonnet and hop aboard a stagecoach (I’m looking at you, Maggie). So at this point it’s just an issue of which one you think has committed the most egregious fouls against our eyes and/or their own DNA.

IMO, Maggie could easily make it into the Sweet 16, if not final 4. She could be darling, but typically just looks like a mess.
actually linds’ first style isn’t that bad, the bad thing is the loose aladdin-esque pants. replace it with a tight leather pants and things are gonna work just fine.
as for the second one, i don’t think wearing a corset as outerwear is that bad too. i kinda like her outfit.
malin akerman’s actually quite good! her all-black look is kinda cool!
Saying a little prayer of thanks to the Fug Girls, who never fail to reduce me to chuckles, giggles, and guffaws at even the worst of times.
That said, Mischa gets my vote. Lindsey’s getups are just ill-advised, Maggie tries too hard (and mostly fails) at being anti-establishment, Camille tries (and mostly succeeds) at being anti-establishment, Kate just doesn’t try at all, and Malin simply doesn’t get it. I think Mischa really believes her fashion travesties are fabulous, which makes her the clear winner.

I have this rule for Fug Madness where anyone wearing a jumpsuit gets my vote. Congrats Mischa.

This round could also be called The Battle of the Hot Messes vs. the Ladies Who Try to Be Edgy but Sometimes Look Ridiculous (but Can Be Forgiven Because They Still Manage to Look Gorgeous).
Mischa, Lindsay and Phoebe all fall into the first category, without a doubt, whereas Camilla, Malin and Kate B. roundly fall into the second category.
The exceptions for me are Beyonce, who is no doubt physically gorgeous, but manages to look patently ridiculous almost always (see also Rihanna), and Maggie, who lives on her own planet of weird sartorial choices that generally undermine her physical attrativeness (see also the Sev).
Am I the only one who actually likes Camilla Belle’s crazy little frocks? You have to be young as springtime to pull this kind of thing off(and I don’t believe I was ever that young), but I feel that she does … she’s perfectly accessorized and shod as well. Oh well, slinking out of Fug Nation now …

Because it’s the first round, everyone with a one seed — like Mischa — will be going up against someone with a 16 seed, like Camilla. The 16s aren’t supposed to be that bad — although sometimes there is an upset — and then the brackets winnow down until the WORST fight the WORST, usually. That’s why Misha plays Camilla in the first round, and Maggie fights Kate. The matches get tougher as the tournament progresses(or they’re supposed to), just like in basketball….

Ohhhhhhh Mischa Barton
The colors of Camilla’s dresses are actually quite pretty on her. The execution of said dresses….well, the dresses should be executed. Mischa is just a messcha.
Malin’s dress is nice from the waist up — from the waist down, it looks like a few cats decided to shred drapes. That, however, is nowhere near good enough (or bad enough) to beat La Lohan. That silvery, sparkly potato sack is perhaps one of the most demure, least crazy things that Pheebs has ever worn. As for Maggie vs. Kate — Gyllenhaal FTW, that cranberry concoction is awful.
MISCHA VS. CAMILLA: Mischa is a royal princess of fug, and even Camilla’s fug can’t override the dead, coked out look in Mischa’s eyes.
LINDSAY VS. MALIN: La Lohan, I miss your Mean Girls awesomeness. Bring back the red hair, girl!! At least Malin’s hair looks great. Lohan for the win.
BEYONCE VS. PHOEBE: B’s fug wasn’t as fuggy as Phoebe’s. Trust.

Maybe I’m just odd, but I kind of like both of the Camilla Belle examples. I voted for all the higher placed seeds except Beyonce. Phoebe Price is craaaaazy.
These ones for me were “she who ALWAYS looks awful” vs. “she who SOMETIMES gets it right,” so the first 3 votes for me were Mischa, Lindsay, and Phoebe, easy. However, in the cat-fight between Maggie and Kate, it was really, really close–I rarely like anything either of those 2 ever wear, but I’ve never seen anyone wear such ill-fitting clothing as Kate Bosworth. Are there no tailors in Hollywood? No seamstresses, no dry-cleaners who also do alterations? Heck, even a couple of SAFETY PINS for the love of Pete may have helped a few of her potato sacks fit her better. She even wears SHOES that are too big, and she can’t even manage to wrangle the straps correctly. It’s like seeing a 4 year old playing dress up in her Mommy’s clothes, only she’s GROWN THE HECK UP. So, although Maggie wears fug like Wintour wears her helmet/wig thing, at least she seems to be able to get dressed all by herself like a big girl. KB FTW.

How is Maggie winning by so much? That one dress is messing up what should be a closer vote. It’s not a single-dress competition, but the year’s worth of work, right?
Maggie can be very hit-or-miss, but it always seems like she’s wearing clothes that she (for whatever reason) loves.
Kate’s affect and outfits always seem designed to convey how fashionable/interesting/whatever she is, when in reality she just looks like an undernourished, pale, limp-tressed, smirking girl wearing clothes that are too big for her. I would send her to the Final Four, at least. Hate, hate, HATE the way she dresses.

I was surprised that I had to go with Beyonce. Her fug is more consistent and painful than I had imagined.
I realize Phoebe is a famewhore but I didn’t feel bad giving her the vote because I know she won’t get past Lohan in the next round.
My husband (who by the way HEARTS you Fug Girls!) also wondered if it was fair putting in Lohan & Barton “aren’t they just kinda whacked in the head anyway?” But I say,regardless of their personal issues, everyone has a choice in what they put down their plastic for – or pick up off the floor and put on before they go out – if they are too f’d up to make a good one…well, that too is a choice! MISCHA BARTON v. CAMILLA BELLE: I voted Barton but I dunno. She always makes a strong showing but it feels like it’s never her year. There’s always some flashy upstart in the vein of a Solange or a Gaga to steal the spotlight from her truly dedicated body of work.
LINDSAY LOHAN v. MALIN AKERMAN: Lohan is a lot like Barton — she’ll be dressing like a freshly-turned trick from now until forever but she lacks the wow factor that propels luminaries like Bai Ling into the stratosphere. Also, my friend was an extra in Watchmen and he met Malin Akerman and he said she was just lovely to him, so my conscience couldn’t vote for her even if she had it coming.

I was doing silk’n hair removal treatments for over a year now on my beard. Before then I had a very thick dark beard. I’m excited about the results. The hairs are extremely thin and I haven’t gone back for re-application for about six months. I will say that it did feel painful just slightly on my top lip and there seemed to be times when I got a bit of redness on my neck. I would recommend Intense pulsed light to those with heavy hairs or currently have big spots of hair they really want to eliminate. For the males that want to do their tough facial beard be prepard to get patches in the coming months’ time and lots of people saying dude whats wrong with your facial hair.
I used to use sugaring to remove my excess hair unfortunetly it was so painful that I had to quit. I gave electrolysis a run and it was so-so but was sort of time consuming. So I spent a couple months researching the silk n sensepil laser hair remover. I actually tried the sensepil and turned out being absolutely satisfied with the outcome. It gave me permanent hair removal at an great cost. I definitly recommend it to everyone instead of shaving.
