Fug or Fine and Fab: Kat Graham

well-played

First and foremost, can we all just bounce up and down with glee at the prospect of the return of The Vampire Diaries? Second: do these looks work for you, or what?

Can we talk about how the ‘Jem And The Holograms’ shoes match the bracelet on her right arm? However, that happy yellow sequin dress is spectacular on so many levels.

I’m going to go on record saying that those are actually the shoes my Rainbow Brite doll had. EXACTLY.

Noooo to every bit of that tropical crop top horror–although now I know what I’d wear if invited to play Naughty Schoolteacher at a Roman orgy on a cruise ship. I want that neon sequined number. I wish it didn’t look like Vanessa Hudgens had styled her. “No, that headstring totes makes sense. You look so pulled together, you know?”

ugh to it all. I could maybe get behind the yellow sequin strapless number if she had different shoes and NO headband. With respect to the headband… What the hell? *smh*

I have no problems with any of this. She’s having fun.

She is so very pretty and happy that she gets a pass on everything. She seems to be having a giggle at it all, and we should join in the fun.

But no WAY would I go near anything here (on myself). Please stop crop tops. Please.

        Well said!

I confess that I might be persuaded to go near several things in this slideshow, including, but not limited to, that yellow dress. And, if we’re getting really real here, I have no beef with crop tops as a concept for some people in some situations and I kind of like this one. Ok. Fine. You wore me down. If I were feeling very fun and had a nice tan going and had been very good about going to yoga, I would wear the crop top + white skirt combo. There. I said it. Are you happy? Hahaha. But for real, the only thing I would say is that I wish the white of her blazer matched the white of the skirt exactly.

She definitely knows her own style. The yellow sequin dress is pretty cool.

Okay, I GET IT NOW. She was chilaxing by the pool when she remembered she was late for a meeting. She ran into the changing room to throw on the white business suit she brought along when, ALAS!, she realized she left her proper button down blouse at home. Being a resourceful young woman, she just opted to wear her bikini top and pretend she did it on purpose.

I am sad we have to wait until OCTOBER for TVD to be back on tv :(

I am not opposed to her “style” in any of these photos, it’s all very her!

Continue being cracked out, Kat. I enjoy it so. Just like I intend to enjoy this coming season of VAMPIRE DIARIES!! Come back to me, you great not-remotely-guilty pleasure. No, I’m not a teenager. Yes, it really is a really good show. No, none of my friends believe me. THEIR LOSS.

I have the same problem. All of my friends make fun of me for watching it but I can’t get any of them to check it out. Its very frustrating because the show is actually really well done!

Crop tops: NO. NO. A thousand billion times NO!!!!

No. No, crop top. With or without the blazer, it equals no. NOOOOOOO.

Also: I am only on-board with those second shoes because of the Jem reference (they ARE truly outrageous, after all) but while I want to like the dress, it hurts my corneas.

I think they are OK on someone fit. They are always going to spell Carmen Miranda to me but there are worse things, I guess.

Without the blazer, she really does look like she’s dressed to go cheerleading.

If you look at that yellow dress in zoom, it’s a mess. It’s missing sequins in a bunch of places and has little pulls everywhere.

I am shamefully admitting that I kind of loved both of these looks. She looks like a real Barbie/Jem?Generic Fashion Doll and I love it.

I think if the crop top were just a sweetheart/strapless top (that covered her midsection)I would actually really like this. Also, how old is she? I will (begrudgingly) approve the crop top for anyone 22 and under…because then it feels kind of pathetic?

Both of these outfits just look schizophrenic to me. Fug.

The highlighter yellow dress is a perfect example of how to revive the 80′s. Love, love, love it!

Love it! Like you, I have notes. But I feel like, even if we were BFFs, and I told her, “hmmm… great, but maybe leave the headband?” she’d be all, “okay, thanks for sharing! But I like it!” and wear it anyway. And I would be like, “okay, cool! You look crazy but let’s go have fun!” And she’d be all, “Who carrrrres!?”

    And fun would be had.

Snaps for being able to pull off fuchsia lipstick.

I love, love, LOVE that yellow dress on her. Not many women can pull off that color, but it looks spectacular on her. With different accessories, it would have been a Well Played.

Her face is so pretty it hurts me. I wonder if she veers off into cray-cray land simply because she is so pretty? Like, hey I am not just another gorgeous gal out here in L.A., I actually have a personality? I hate to admit it, but most of the time she pulls it off. Even – can’t believe as I type this – the crop top, and yes, sans blazer. And I love the highlighter dress. My only beef with her is I wish she wouldn’t cake up that gorgeous mug.

I kind of love the shoes with the yellow dress…not gonna lie.

I think if the crop top wasn’t quite so “crop” and the skirt was a high waisted pencil skirt so that we only see about a centremeter of skin between the two I would love the first look (less the blazer) on her.

I loathe her character on TVD, but I think she may be my favourite of the cast IRL… she just seems like so much fun!
I mean who doesn’t want a friend who “is pretty much always wearing these harem pants.” ??

The yellow highlighter dress hurt my eyes, but I don’t mind the white two-piece with the crop-top. It looks good on her somehow, and her smile goes a long way in selling the look.

That yellow neon dress is fantastic on her (but no to the shoes). I can’t get behind the crop top or her white outfit AT ALL, though. That skirt just says ‘tennis skirt’ to me. If she was wearing white trousers (I am British) it might look better with the blazer, but I am unconvinced that crop tops of any variety work for anyone, even one as pretty as Kat Graham.

LOVE the yellow dress, but – and maybe it’s the pose – the matching yellow bangle on her left arm sort of makes it look like she’s strapped into the dress?

I own and unashamedly wear crop tops! They’re kicky and fun! And super-comfortable after a big lunch.
