I’ve started watching the show because of you and your recaps!!! CAPSY! Like I don’t waste enough time on TV. But the show is so not bad (comparison: SMASH!), I am making up with you right now – and we are kicking it with some sandwiches and diet cokes.

Apparently I need to start watching this show, if only to reminisce about the clothes and hair. I had the just as curly but not quite as big updo as Carrie at the prom in 1986. It…was not my best look.

These posts bring me so much joy that I just squealed out loud at work, hehe.

I love watching this show. It’s not perfect, but I was in junior high in 1984 and I love the innocence and music. it makes me so nostalgic. I try to enjoy it and not be the fashion accuracy police, which is hard sometimes. My 1984 took place in a suburb of NYC (in New Jersey) in 1984, and I remember wanting to live the NYC life, and running for the last train, etc. Maybe it was a Jersey thing but everyone needs BIGGER hair and makeup! And Mouse is cute in her straight bob, but if you had straight hair in 1984, you were a total outcast! (I gave in to social pressure and permed my very straight hair for years…) I wish they had more cracked-out outfits, but I understand that they don’t want to scare away the kids. Thank you for the show recaps! More fun than the show!

btw, I do remember there being a high heel pump trend that we wore with boxy t-shirts, cotton knit skirts and long faux pearls.

Shopping for me in 1984: Au Cotton, Espirit, Canal Jean

“I’m going to brood the shit out of you” is one of the funniest things ever.

They do need a mall montage, but I worry it will never leave up to Robin Sparkles “Let’s Go to the Mall.”

is there a reason slide 13 only says ‘cut’? ;3

I adore these caps! My favorite part was definitely Dorrit and Dadshaw because his casual dismissal of even trying to understand her was what made me the most mad at the series because you have two daughters Dadshaw, not just one & they both need to feel as loved as Carrie does from you.
