Updating to say that I totally bought the earrings and wore them this week. I got a gazillion compliments and they are now my favorite accessory. I also told everyone that I saw them on a show, and then on a blog, and then bought them, which makes me sound like an insane person, but insanity regularly works out for Zoe, so ….
Anyway, thanks Hart of Dixie and GFY for my new favorite earrings.
They definitely softened Wade up a bit this week, which was necessary because it’s probably important for 1/3 of your main love triangle to appear to actually LIKE the girl.
Loved Zoe’s dress! Love Lavon’s hats! Even Brick’s flannel was great – loved the colors.
Look I love Scott Porter as much as the next sensible Friday Night Lights fan. But is anyone else thinking he’s become a bit extraneous? I mean, I don’t know if I’d miss George all that much. Unless they decided to hook him up with Anna Beth in which case, carry on.
I like the styling this season a lot, particularly Lemon. She still looks vintage but not like she’s actually in costume.
I started watching HoD because Scott Porter was in it. George, Lemon and Brick became my favorite characters on the show. If SP wasn’t on this show I never would’ve watched and if George was not in it anymore the show would not have the appeal to me it has now.
Btw I think this second season is a lot better than the first, writing wise and this episode was great.
I was so enchanted with Zoe’s dress I didn’t even notice the kicky shoes! I’ll admit, the recaps on GFY are the reason I started watching this show.
I know I’m over thinking this, but why exactly did they need the armadillo? And how would they tell it was the one from whom he had contracted it? Leprosy isn’t really all that contagious anyway. The very, very few documented cases of armadillo-to-human infection tend to be amongst people who eat the dang things. TV science is so amusing!
Well, it’s the only armadillo in town. They needed him so he didn’t infect anyone else with leprosy, if he were Armadillo Patient Zero.
Um, yeah. Like I said…..TV science. Suspension of disbelief is one thing, but they seem to be confusing leprosy with rabies in terms of public health hazard. Leprosy is just not that infectious. 90% of the people exposed to the bacterium fight it off on their own. Even if you do develop the disease, it’s so curable that the World Health Organization provides treatment for free in developing countries.
Rabies, now, that’s nearly always fatal. They don’t make such a fuss about catching the critter that bit you as they used to do. The post-exposure therapy isn’t nearly as heinous as it used to be–though still not fun, I’m sure–so it’s not as big a deal to determine for sure whether the biting animal was actually infected. As for it infecting other people, trapping would be a remarkably silly thing to do, as it would increase the likelihood of more people getting bit. If they went after it at all, they’d go all Atticus Finch on its ass.
I just report what happens on the show.
I don’t think it’s bad tv science – I think that was the whole point. Zoe is reaching – she wants something interesting for the reporter. If she was honest with herself she probably knew it wasn’t leprosy.
On another note – the second season (particularly this episode) has been great so far – and it looks like it’ll be really interesting. I’m so happy they’ve taken a completely different turn with the love triangle than what’s usually done. Gossip Girl and 90210 – go home!

Annabeth does not live in the houseboat. She got the ex’s houseboat in the divorce so that she can sink it. But then Lemon decided it would look good with some fresh paint and curtains and Annabeth decided to offer it up to Lemon. Thus Lemon gets a free house(boat) without having to actually have a job. Well done, writers! It’s a huge leap for me though for Lemon to agree to live on a houseboat. I mean, I can see her waitressing since waitressing is a bit like hosting a massive dinner party only everyone comes in at different times and wants different things to eat. So I’m not sure how she could suck so badly at it. Also, George’s polos are comically small and make his bulgy biceps look comical not hunky. (I love this show so so much)

While I super appreciate the effort you put into these recaps, you could have saved yourself a lot of work by just posting slide 1 and calling it a day. I doubt you would hear many complaints. I haven’t even made it past that slide myself and I’ve been on this site for a good 7 or 8 minutes.
Hate that when I look at galleries on your website, the pictures stop loading after about three pics?! Any idea what is up with that? Anyone else complain about it?

The entire time I was watching the show I kept wondering what the Fug Girls were going to say about the flowery cardigan Lemon had on during the bar scene. The red dress underneath was gorgeous on her but I am on the hate/ok line for the cardi. It’s too grandma like I think. Anyone else have thoughts on it?
That bugged me too – she and Anna Beth were looking for hot dresses and then she covers it up almost the entire time in the bar. Also, can anyone tell me what the print was on Lemon’s dress when she and AB went shopping — I kept thinking it was an animal of some sort, but then again, I think i’d had some wine….
