Weekly Matheson – I have so much to be grateful for this Thanksgiving.
I want Wade and Zoe to keep hooking up because it means we get more Shirtlessness and beautiful Bralettes. It’s the best.
I’m suprisingly cool with George and Tansy dating! I actually think they’d be adorable. But ugh, Ruby?!?! No no no. Smug and mean. At least the beer girl is gone
I haven’t watched the ep yet, (I know, why am I spoiling it for myself? Fugcaps are too good to stay away!) and “Presley is OUT” made me think for a moment that she’d come out and that would have been interesting and a legit reason to dump George. I mean, c’mon. Who dumps George?
Magnolia is the worst spoiled brat ever. I mean ever. Every time she is on the show all she does is complain about how unfair everything is and while that might be true teenage behavior it does not make me like her. All I could think about was why some one did not tell her that driving is a privileged not a right and that they would drop the ballot off then go driving. But then there would have been no chicken-off.

Although I don’t think her character is a keeper, I have to give a defense to Golden Brooks/Ruby. 1) Lavon hurt her, hurt her bad. Going off to college and not ever calling her again? Bad form, Mayor Hayes; 2) She’s a self-made woman – built her own beauty line; 3) Still came home to Bluebell look after her Grandpa. Ruby’s a little scorned and it’s time for a little harmless payback. She gave Lavon a nice run for his money in the mayoral race – nothing wrong with that. Plus, how gorgeous is Golden Brooks (and her name)?
George and Tansy, I get it, but I hate that the Zoe/George element may get buried under all these triangles. Those two haven’t been given a true shot yet and they are so cute together.
Finally, please get Lemon some dresses that her grandmother wouldn’t have worn.
This is partly why I hate the Ruby character, though. She’s achieved all this stuff (which is great), but she’s sooo bitchy and manipulative, as though you have to be that way to get ahead. Lavon, on the other hand, is equally successful but pretty consistently nice to everyone. He deserves someone less evil. I personally can’t stand watching her.
Ruby is not my favorite but I suspect that the show will work on rebuilding her character, giving her some personality and making her likeable. I just feel sorry for her since we all know Lavon will ultimately ditch her for Lemon. What I didn’t get was how she made public her plan to exit Bluebell the moment she lost (if she lost). Who’d vote for someone who’s not committed enough to stick around town after they lose?
That was my thought, too. I would never vote for someone who was planning on skipping town if they lost. Newsflash-they don’t care about the town, they just want to win.
I’m kind of liking the idea of George and Tansy, which would be a nice counterpoint to Wade and Zoe. I can’t stand Ruby and hope she goes away soon. Lemon’s hair is looking more like a normal person lately.
Also, Bluebell is Stars Hollow, except with Carl Winslow instead of Sally Struthers. It’s one of the reasons I love this show, because I miss Stars Hollow so much.
