Fug or Fab: Campy Spice

We got a few e-mails this morning to the effect of, “WHY POSH WHYYYYYYYY?” But of course, I have come to cherish Madam Beckham, so when I saw this picture I thought, “YES, Posh, YES.”

She brings me such joy. She’s standing there all fierce, like, “DRINK ME IN. What do you mean there’s something unusual on my back? Surely not FAT CELLS. IT HAD BETTER NOT BE FAT CELLS.”

Which, of course, it isn’t:

It’s a mink toilet mat glued to her back. Which I would suggest looks heavy, but Posh always poses at practically a 45-degree angle; the fact that she’s leaning so far off-center that her foot is popping out of her shoe — and yet she’s still totally stable on those heels — is but one reason why I find her and this entire getup delightful. Just imagine David lovingly brushing her shoulders before sending her off on her way. And think how comfortable she’d be in chairs. It’s like a built-in pillow. In fact, my back wishes I were wearing one right now.

But there’s clearly a whole passel of people who saw this photo and feared for their own sanity, or for hers, so I thought I’d put it up to a vote. There’s a long weekend coming, and I can’t be responsible for anyone losing sleep over not getting to weigh in on their abject hatred of her fur-encrusted spine.
