Obviously, we have to talk about this. I’ve been dying to discuss JT’s Return to the Curl since I noticed it happening last week:
(Note: I kind of dig the super nerdy glasses.) It’s VERY N*SYNC. Which is not a bad thing, necessarily. Listen, I saw N*SYNC in concert at the Rose Bowl, back in the day, and actually had an argument with the 12 year old girl in front of me about which of us was secretly dating JC Chasez. Well, she thought it was an actual argument. I thought we were just…you know, riffing. Until she angrily asked me, “Well, DO YOU have an ANNIVERSARY WITH HIM? BECAUSE I DO!!” And I had to admit that no, I did not have a fake anniversary with my fake celebrity boyfriend because I was just sort of kidding, and I let her have him. (CALL ME, JC.) Anyway, despite the fact that I inadvertently caused a pre-teen to believe her fake boy bander boyfriend was having an affair with an old lady,the concert was super fun, and I bear fond feelings toward the JT of yore. On the other hand, I am worried that Britney is going to take this return to the Hair of Old as some kind of sign and dump her seemingly solid agent bf and start camping out in Justin’s rose bushes in order to lure him back into her lady-spell. Will no one think of Britney other than me? Also, I think he was hotter with the buzz-cut. So, in other words: I’m so conflicted.

Those aren’t 80s glasses–they’re 60s glasses, which were then exaggerated in the 80s with hilarious/horrible/horriblarious results.

N*Sync wasn’t actually talented enough to ever sing in sync. None of them were attractive:
Justin the geek; the gay one – that surely didn’t come as a surprise to anyone; Fatone who literally WAS the fat one (now there’s irony for ya); and the guy with tiny eyes that were too close together
so to me the whole enterprise was always proof of the power of advertising!
Have to say that Justin on his own hasn’t produced anything good enough to write home about either, but again – brilliant marketing.
If it hadn’t been for all the marketing and his very smart dating strategy (Britney, Cameron, and whatever the boring, beige one is called) very, very few of you would even have given him a second glance.
