Sometimes I wish they’d let Posh play the Wicked Witch of the West on Broadway.
Not because I think she’s wicked, but because I feel like with her wardrobe of tight black dresses with trains and dramatic sleeves, she could ably sweep in and out of stone castle rooms or forest sets with chilling authority; plus, if anyone could make an army of monkeys sprout wings and learn to fly and shoot a crossbow, she is that person. Of course, they’d have to make some material changes to the story. For example, Posh’s witch wouldn’t melt under water; she’d have a breakdown because she retains it. She’d never wear green-face, because that’s just messy. And she’d NEVER set out to avenge a sister who wore THOSE striped socks with THOSE ruby slippers.
None of which informs me, or you, of my opinion of this outfit. Maybe my problem with it is that my Christmas tree is up and PRESENTS PRESENTS PRESENTS FOR YOU AND FOR MEEEEEE and peace on Earth and yada yada yada, and this dress lacks sufficient festivity to match my mood. Then again, I just read that David’s grandfather recently passed away, so maybe she’s wearing black to honor the dead. Or perhaps she’s getting coal in her stocking this year. It’s certainly very dramatic, and it’s nice that she got to use her BeDazzler, but… I’m undecided. It’s not Trashy Posh, it’s not So Bad It’s Funny Posh, and it’s not So Awesome That I’m Envious Of Posh. And I’m unfamiliar with living in the grey area between those regions. Help.

My only objection is to the zipper.
I’m surprised to discover this about myself, but I think I like it more because she’s wearing it. If someone else – Claire Danes, Nicole Kidman, Rumer Willis, you get the idea – wore this, I’d roll my eyes and equate it to the super fabulous funeral gown of Auntie Mame. But it’s Posh and I like Posh (apparently) and look how fun her pose is! I just like her! Basically, what I’m saying is, it SHOULD be fug, but, come on, it’s Posh.
If she were a witch she could use her magic to make that stain in the middle go away.

i was all about this dress until i read ducki’s comment above. he/she (gender unknown b/c i’m old enough to remember ‘pretty in pink’)was right on. i love this dress, sans mysterious grease/navel sweat spot, but mostly b/c posh is wearing it. she wears the hell out of this relatively staid dress! the only other person that could make this dress interesting would be SWINTON and she’d have to wear it in a wackadoo color!

Meh. A boring Morticia gown with epaulets made out of Bedazzleses and an eye-catching-and-keeping zipper? This is boring AND fugly.
She looks very much like a high-school girl practicing her modeling poses in her Elvira Mistress of the Dark Halloween costume, the better to bewitch the boys Friday night at the school dance.

The Fab: I’m not a Posh fan – not even a little bit, but I have to admit that she wears the hell out of some of the most ridiculous outfits. This one is pretty toned down compared to what she usually wears. I like the way it fits, I like the color, and I like that it’s somewhat simple.
The Fug: It can’t be helped, you see a dress like this and Morticia comes to mind. It’s bordering on costumey, and though I hatehatehate the zipper and the sparkly bits on the shoulders, without them, this would just be a Halloween costume.
I just can’t decided if I hate it or not.

If the fabric were darker and more luxurious, it would be less plain and more fabulous. Overall, though, it’s just to old for her.
I’m not a huge Posh fan, and I think she looks rather elegant. One thing puzzles me, though… that grease spot is the kind that you get when a particularly juicy cheeseburger drips on you, or you accidentally wipe your fingers on your dress while eating fried chicken, and since Posh clearly has never in her life done either of those things, or anything else involving eating and grease.. where on earth did she pick up that stain? Other than that, though, I like how she looks. And I’m not so sure that’s a zipper.. I think its some sort of embellishment that just unfortunately resembles a zipper.
It would look so much better if she gained some serious poundage!!!!!

When you say “Not because I think she’s wicked, but…” it confuses some of us who are from Boston, where wicked is an ADVERB – particularly when applied to people, where it would never be left as just an adjective, and definitely not one meaning “evil.”
So… wicked what? Wicked mean-lookin’? Wicked hot, probably, but the kind of hot where she’s also crazy and cuts up your shirts in the middle of the night for no reason.
It must be the holiday spirit in me, but I looooove the zipper in back. So much so that I’m willing to smile and nod and forget the rest.

It’s an awesomely terrific cut (is it one of her’s?)but the fabric and the bedazzle don’t do it justice.

I do love me some wacky Posh… but this dress is only meh for me. I feel like it ages her too much? The dress looks like it belongs on someone older, with the long sleeves and the high neckline. Pair that with the severe hair, and it looks like she dressed up as a cross between the Wicked Witch of the West and Norma Desmond.
Maybe if it were hemmed to the knee and I could see her undoubtedly fierce shoes…

I am SO happy to see that I’m not the only one questioning the zipper atrocity on the back of this dress. I was fully prepared to actually like, but the zipper ruined it.

See – I have to say, I LOVE this – I love the zipper, and it fits her like a dream. Plus, there’s something to be said for appropriateness and dressing one’s age, which is so rare nowadays. And I don’t know if she actually designs her line, but if so, the woman can cut a dress like nobody’s business, no? Each time I see an actress in one of her dresses, I think, “wow – amazing fit!”

As for the dress, too much underarm baggage for my liking. Perhaps Posh has succumb to the ageing process (she’s human, right? It could happen!) and is attempting to hide her bingo wings?
I can’t get behind the BeDazzled shoulders, but this is a dress I’d consider wearing if I picked that tacky glittery stuff off first. On Posh, however, I find it disappointing. Probably because it’s not as crazy as I expect from Posh and I feel shortchanged, but I also think this dress would be so much more awesome on SWINTON. SWINTON could convincingly do the Evil Incarnate thing, whereas Posh… I’m sorry Posh, but you don’t have what it takes.
