You found that Warren Beatty piece because you have a Google alert for Joan Collins, didn’t you?
I am in happy shock that I somehow missed this juicy news, that Warren and Annette’s first-born (as a daughter Kathlyn) is transgender and uber-chatty as Stephen: http://gawker.com/celebrity-kids/ It’s some sweet irony that a notorious womanizer (and Madonna ex-) has a daughter who wants to be a very femmy boy.
Thanks for the Beckham baby link. It contains a virus. Appreciate that.
Yes, I am so sure that was deliberate.
I have linked to Lainey COUNTLESS times without any problems; obviously, I did not want to give you a virus.
Great article with superb writing about Warren Beatty – thanks for flagging that one, Fug Girls. I have to share a fun story about WB: in 1992, right after I moved to LA, had a friend working the WGA (Writer’s Guild Of America) Awards at the Beverly Hilton (where they have the Golden Globes). She got me this great gig: for several years I got to be one of 2 green room hostesses, and that year, “Bugsy” was nominated. Because the WGA event was not televised, it was particularly attractive to the huge stars of the nominated films to come and honor their writers; and most of them definately knew that without the writers, they wouldn’t have been given such great roles to play (most of which were also nominated for Oscars). So in they all came to pay homage to all their beloved writers. My “job” was to escort the presenters from their dinner tables to the backstage area before they went onstage to present. Soooo, I got to “chat” with Mr. Beattyfor about 15 minutes, just he and I, while he stood waiting to go on. I had to work really hard to keep my s**t together. His eyes are an amazing teal blue color, he’s tall and trim and his teeth are so very perfect; he was, in every sense of the word, a “movie star”. He couldn’t have been more charming, easy-going, and just super gracious. I was pretty stunned and very impressed, since many of the stars that came thru during that thing, we were told not to speak to or even look at. Mr. Beatty looked me in the eye and shook my hand, and expressed his thanks for my help. And then he was gone, and that was that.
Those Lanvin models are FIERCE!!
The story and photos below the Olympics logo story in the NYT entitled “She Sees Logos” is fun! A good one to include in another Fugs and Pieces?
I also love Lanvin’s 82 year old model http://fashionista.com/2012/07/82-year-old-former-apollo-dancer-jacqueline-tajah-murdock-tells-us-how-she-became-the-face-of-lanvins-new-fall-campaign-even-though-she-hasnt-seen-it-yet/
Loved the reading at Brookline Booksmith tonight! Can’t wait for your next book!
It was such a pleasure to meet YOU! I enyoyed every second & so did my brother, who is as impressed with the both of you as I am! Thank you so much for coming to NY and making it easier for me to go see you! Love ya, FugGirls!
I fell in a hole for about 90 minutes last night reading all those Hairpin stories. And, yes, I’m going to willingly jump in that hole right now again.
So very very wonderful to have met you both last night! Y’all are as purdy as you are sparkly. And just for the record… Jeffrey. He’s a photographer and smells like Oregon trees, for God’s sake.
hee!
Beatty isn’t precisely my idea of good looking. He’s OK. Anne Helen Petersen *is* my idea of a good writer. She got me to read a story on Warren Beatty, who is kind of before my time and I’m not young, and all the way through to her very satisfying wrap up. Thanks for posting that link!
I think Beyonce’s baby’s name is Blue Ivy, not Ivy Blue. I’m not sure, though, and I can’t be bothered to Google it. I just remember someone calling her Smurfette. LOL
