Why, if it isn’t Ms. Lemon Breeland herself, all fancied up for a big city party. Unfortunately, and I know you saw this one coming a mile away, I think ultimately Lemon picked a lemon. Fiddle-dee-dee. But seriously, I have reasons. Follow me.

Picture… please! (Is it yellow also?)
yes we need a picture!
It’s coming! It’s only Tuesday and already it has been THE LONGEST WEEK. I forgot to check the little slideshow box.
Your post output is enormous…. yesterday I went to bed (different time zone) much too late because I had so much catch up to do! So on this note also thank you for the work you put in this… your blog is awsome (slime, slime…. I know, but it is true!)
Agreed!
yuck. and I *hate* the way the braid motif in the dress is carried through the coronet in her hair and her hair is actually braided as well. she’s like a show horse. and that color is the color of baby barf.
Yep, agree. Way too much braid.
This was not good. She’s yet another person who needs to hire a stylist or fire one.
Fug all around. Remember when she went by James King? Good times.
I really like the dress. Not sure it’s right for her, but I love it.
Totally agree. Gorgeous dress… on someone else.
She kind of looks like that hippie princess in Norway. Maybe if the dress were better fitted?
This makes me sad. If this were in a deep hue (like a plum) it would be gorgeous. As it is… fug. I myself love yellows and greens, but I’m very fair and have to be careful about the shade. This makes her look ill, and that’s never a good look.
D’oh! Don’t you people get it? She has a crown of braids because she’s a Monarch butterfly. Emerging from her chrysalis. It’s all very……oh, crap this isn’t working, is it? I can’t even persuade myself to continue this lame joke. It’s awful and her hair is falling out of said braids. The second one is a case of “least said, soonest mended”
Love. Ok maybe it’s not good on her complexion….but the dress, the hair, the color, I *love*.
Yup. Me too. If you ignore her coloring, I think the styling is lovely, and I love the the color of that dress. Maybe a deeper shade of the same green would have worked better?
Me three. On the right person: Viola Davis, maybe, this would be fabulous. I adore this color and the cut of the dress, unfortunately it’s a color that does not flatter Jamie…but that doesn’t stop me from loving it.
Yes, I love this. I love the braid motif, I think she JUST veered short of way too much. But I think apart from it being wrong for her because of her colour, it’s also wrong for her because of her protruding spinal nodules. If your dress is open in the back, you need to have a little more meat on your bones perhaps? I don’t know.
boo all around. From the back it looks like she stole a dementor’s cape and stuck herself in it backwards.
Yes! and… her braids are awful (messy – looks like my 5 year old niece did them herself, for 5 great, otherwise not so), terrible lipstick, and Honey I do NOT want to see your skank tattoo, not classy at all, you get the Tat, fine, but you can no longer wear a dress cut this low and look classy. You choose.
Braids EVERYWHERE.
Tight, scrinchy hair makes me unhappy. I’ve seen it a lot lately so I guess I’m just going to have to shut up and let it go past and hope there’s not too many cars on this damn train, I have somewhere to be.
What washes her out the most to me is her hair color.
Aww, I love this dress! And the color and everything. Not the braided hair, though, and I think those red red lips might be too strong. (says the gal who despises a neutral lip) I would wear this in a heartbeat. Fab!
Did anyone else notice the top of her tramp stamp?
I think it’s that the dress is so craptastically made. The braid looks like it was sewn on by blind nuns who had never tried sewing before. And her hair is too messy for such a fancy occasion.
It’s official, I’m getting tired of backless dresses that are boring in the front. Not saying that they shoudn’t make them but I think it’s more important to make the front looking good/interesting.
I seriously thought she was Shannyn Sossamon. That’s not a compliment.
I just laughed out loud at that.
Props for trying to go for a unique color. I don’t love it but I understand it. My issue is with the poor workmanship. The seams are puckering and the zipper is almost but not all the way zipped. Surely the designer could have added a hidden hook at the top of the zipper. And offered to slim the armholes for her
wow, does she look like an evil fairy or what? I actually like the vintage-glam-ness of the material, and I imagine the color is one that shifts a lot depending on the type of light it’s reflecting, but in these photos the color is so unflattering it makes her look sick.
I saw a few of these citrus-y hued dresses on the red carpet and I don’t think one of them flattered the wearer’s skin tone. Citrus colors that veer into the acid end of their color range look good on a very small percentage of wearers.
I always kind of sort of get the vibe she’s going for…it’s just that it’s always slightly kind of 90s boho heroin chic…which I think (I sincerely hope) is over now, right?
I love, love, love the material and the idea of the dress, but I can’t get on board with the color or actual execution. The drape makes it look cheap, and I’m willing to bet it was not.
The bodice of the first dress just doesn’t work. From the front it looks boring and ill-fitting, as though she forgot to zip it up, and from the back it looks … boring and ill-fitting. Huh.
The second look is all Eva Braun to me.
The color washes her out. If she was a brunette even, we wouldn’t be awash in blondy green blah. It actually makes her hair look somewhat green, like she’s been swimming all summer in chlorine. And the make up on a washed out face is harsh with the shadows underneath her cheekbones making her look gaunt and the red lips making her look evil.
I want another color, another make up job–basically a complete do-over.
I think the dress is lovely! She looks washed out because she needs FOOD!!
It is a nice dress, but on someone with barely any body fat it looks like an empty sack… This dress should be worn by someone with the curves to fill it! And, it looks beautiful from the back, but I see her backbones and a little bit of her tramp stamp, which isn’t sexy at all! Plus, she went overboard with the braids! What I really love is her red lipstick… It’s perfect!
This dress illustrates that line in Gone With the Wind, where Scarlett O’Hara wonders why blondes always want to wear green when all it does is make them look sallow. And we all know that on Scarlett, this shade of green would make her look fantastic.
But panne velvet with seams that have obviously been sewn and ripped open again before being sewn up again will look terrible on anyone no matter what colour it is. And is that a panty line I see on the front of the dress?
I agree. The red lipstick is perfect.
Gorgeous girl, appears to be suffering a chronic case of the medievals.
I’m surprised that there are so little comments on her frail body. Her face is falling in.
Girlfriend has sleeve issues. Whack the sleeves off both outfits, and then we just have to worry about the hairdo.
