I am going to start with a very minor nitpick, which is that I don’t think this hair works on her that well. It’s a little stiff. She looks amazing when she does the Jessica Rabbit hair, and she has never looked better than when she was sort of f’ed up and windblown in Zero Dark Thirty, but this feels a weeee bit 80s Socialite to me, especially with this dress:
That being said, that dress fits her impeccably, and this is exactly what you should wear when you’re presenting an award but not up for one: it’s gorgeous and flattering, but it’s not agitating for that much attention and no one’s going to get mad at it. Big point for appropriateness, Chastain. Now, put on your sunglasses and go stand in a wind tunnel again.
