I don’t know what happened between Titanic and now, but I somehow went from wanting punch our little chest-puncher here in the face and wanting to embrace her. I can’t explain it but I love Celine Dion now. Maybe it’s just because if someone is THAT over the top for THAT LONG, you realize she’s actually JUST LIKE THAT and it’s not a put on. Also, who DOESN’T love the “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now” video? People who are wrong. Anyway, what I’m saying is, when Celine showed up on the Grammys, I may have squealed with glee. Until I realized that I needed 3-D glasses for her segment and that because I didn’t have any, it was going to give me a stroke. And maybe I DID have a stroke, because I kind of like this:
I recognize that, like Beyonce, she too looks as though she may have had an incident with an overly zealous glue gun and a craft store, but I can’t help it. You regular readers KNOW what a magpie I am. I love shiny tiny things, the better to feather my nest with, and she is like the shiniest little Canadian bird in the world. Also, I kind of love the sleeves. Sleeves are refreshing. No one wears them anymore. I sort of dig that.

Was just browsing the mag section in my local grocery market when I came across this. I had to do a double take, because at first I was so not convinced it was really Kristen Bell. Finally, I conceded that the thing on the cover had *once* been her, but after all the Photoshopping done to it, it now resembled a horrific plasticky version of someone sort of resembling her.

Everyone can relax, because Meat Loaf has sung that song, on Bat Out of Hell III. There’s also a video. IMHO it’s better than the Dion version, because he sings it as a duet (as it was meant to be). And it was written by Jim Steinman, so it just sounds like a Meat Loaf song, hence the confusion.
Anyway, I don’t hate Celine Dion (much), but Meat’s a better singer. Now her geriatric husband will hunt me down and have me executed, probably.
