Happy 4th of July, Americans! Happy Wednesday, everyone else!

I don’t know about you, but I TOTALLY wearing this to my 4th of July shenanigans today. What makes it even more special is that I plan to spend today visiting my grandma:

She is going to love it.

We’re taking today off to celebrate the 4th of July in style, but we’ll be back with regular postings TOMORROW, July 5th. Now, shut down your computer and go eat some BBQ. (And if this whets your appetite for something that can’t be satisfied by anything but Katy Perry, read her style evolution that we wrote for The Cut yesterday. And then maybe talk to your doctor.)

      I disagree. They look great on women with curves. They look tragic on women without hips and a small waist. The current style of low slung waist pants looks horrible on women with curves

        We’ve all been brainwashed over the last decade. This is not high-waisted. Her waistband is sitting at her actual waist! Katy Perry knows where her waist is, and accentuating it makes her lovely hourglass look even better. Fashion designers (high end to low) should take note!!

        And how do you tuck shirts into those low slung pants and make them look good? I haven’t figured it out, so none of my shirts get tucked in anymore.

    Happy Fourth girls!! Have a great day off. To celebrate America, I may watch that Harvard baseball boys video again, because it’s been 6 days and that song is no longer rattling around in my skull. THANKS FOR THAT. xo!

    Call me crazy, I think Katy looks terrific in this, with the caveat only that the girls could use a little support. With her teeny waist, she can pull off the high-waisted short, IMO. And I think it’s a cute, fun celebratory look altogether.
