Call me crazy, and I’m sure some people will, but K.Bos here looks so good that I’m not even mad at her for cleaving to her standard updo. WHO AM I?

Is that a wedding band on her hand or just a very plain ring? Did she get married? The dress is beautiful even if her face and body don’t match.
I think she looks great – but the topknot is killing me. I’m not even a topknot hater- but its way too teensy. It looks like something – an acorn? a pencil eraser? something equally tiny that i’m not creative enough to label but looks bad? Yes, that.
Lovely! I think it’s one of the best looks of the night, it’s kooky (and I imagine that that’s the sound her particular species of bird would make; “Kook! Koo-ook!”) and elegant, and severe yet flirty. It’s like the dark side of Solange’s sunny version of win. It’s also the best she’s looked in a while, I love the lip on her. Much better than that glistening, emaciating nude she always goes for.
I don’t understand why she thinks that hair looks good on her. It’s just too severe and yet she wears it OVER and OVER again. (I wonder if she’s self conscious about the fact she appears to have very thin hair.) I didnt like the dress the first time I saw it but I like it today. Exotic bird it is.
Congrats to the exotic bird but I dislike this shade of lipstick and the fact that everybody is wearing it. Only Rihana pulls it off IMO. It’s already upsetting when everyone starts wearing lace or Marchesa but the same make-up? Too much for me.
This was one of my favorite looks! All the feathered looks were amazing and short looks so good on her!

I must buck the trend and object to the dress. It makes her look like Oscar the Grouch in mourning. Not my choice (but then, I like Mia’s Jane Eyre On the Town dress).
Seconded. What, were the Fraggle Rock pelt jokes just too easy low-hanging fruit?
The dress is hideous. Gawdawful color, stupid material. Sure, her cute little bod can wear anything, but this is NOT it.
I agree. This is crazeballs, but not crazeballs enough to come out on the other side of awesome. If it’s a bird, it’s a really scary one.
Maybe she’s just been out in the sun.
i was kind of thinking this too – I am also pasty…er, naturally pale, and when I get any sun at all, it’s on my shoulders (and my nose), and my face is usually protected by a hat or something, so I am variable colors without the “benefit” of spray tan. I would have preferred that she were a more uniform shade because i think her pale side looks great with that dress color, is all.
awww, c’mon i’m sure that tan issue is there only because of the camera and irl it looked even. love her look <3
Meh, I think she crosses over into Rose McGowan territory with the makeup, and that makes me think of Marilyn Manson, and that make me… yuck.
Not to mention the variegated tanning.
If it’s tanning, and not bronzer, she should stop — it’s WAY too much and doesn’t look healthy.
I think the makeup is working for her, but I can’t get on board with the shag-pile dress.
I love everything about this. The dress is a refreshing change from the wackadoo of everyone else’s. It’s fun & flirty and suits her shape. Even the dark lip seems risky given everyone else’s washed out look. What a rebel.
The weird way she’s standing is distracting me… which is good, because otherwise I’d focus on her liver-colored lips. Eeeew. I am praying to all of the lipstick gods that they not bring that color back in.
I cannot sign off on burgundy lipstick.
I can’t for everyday wear, but I think she nailed it in this context.
Agree to disagree. It’s so mid 90s. I feel like all she needs is a velvet choker and a pair of Candies and she would be ready to go to The Bronze.
I love this look, but the ex-goth in me wishes there was no spray tan at all (see: pasty white) and maybe a severe bob. The bun is too ballet rehearsal for me. Her makeup and that burgundy lip/dress are stunning.
I love this. She’s another who totally nailed the dark lipstick! It takes a lot of bravery to look comfortable with that dark of a lip and she definitely looked great. The dress is really nice on her too – the exotic bird reference is spot on! The fake tan is dreadful though…I hate it anyway – she would have been better to stick to her own skin tone with the dark makeup and dress theme anyway! Still overall its a fab so long as I don’t have to smell the fake tan/witness the streaks!
I hate all of this. The dress looks like she murdered Mr. Snuffleupagus, dip-dyed him to make him hombre, and then hung his pelt on herself via neck-string. The hair makes her look like an alien. Again. Why does she keep scraping her hair back like this? Kate, you are pretty! Let your hair be loose. Or if you hate it, discover the wonderful world of wigs! And please, for the love of god, wear something flattering.
The muppet fur frock sucks.
The grease up into a painfully tight looking top not sucks.
The 17 different shades, especially the 17 steps between her back and her face really sucks.
Fug.
I hate the way she’s standing, again. Why must she stand like a four-year-old?
Just another actress with clavicles that cut paper.
Pretty much.
Though a mite generous: I’d classify her as a “Why Is?” (category courtesy GFY pal Lainey).
Can’t get too excited about you if all you really do is wear clothes.
I like that she appears to be at a very healthy weight. The latter combined with her great look, and glow = happy woman! Hooray for her!
excellant choice, the feathers give her voloume and really suit her and the lipstick is perfection!! the fake tan is a bit on the miss side but I’m sure wasnt that bad in person!
Yeah…agreeing with the dissenters here. It looks like she has a dead muppet strapped to her chest.
I HATE that hairstyle with the intensity of a thousand suns. HATE. And it’s her default do, and I just don’t get it. Like this dress, though. And I like seeing her, because she will never NOT remind me of Pammy’s breathtakingly hilarious “Young Americans” recaps, back when TWoP was Mighty Big TV…. Good times.
Her stylist managed to project her undeniable beauty way differently from her usual dimpled, peaches-and-cream cutie persona. I think she was pretty much the only Met attendant who rocked the red-wine lip.
It’s just.. I can’t. The hair plus the weird glowy alien-skin? NO.
So effortlessly chic!
(her hair ‘do’ is great – best solution, having feeble hair…)
Why do so many ladies at the Met Ball look like they’ve been eating fudgicles???
I think she looks pretty good here, but echo the hate for the topknot. I don’t think she will ever look as good to me as she did in Blue Crush — I wanted to have her figure so bad when I watched that movie, and her face beautiful without a lot of makeup.
3 things I absolutely loathe: 1. Shredded muppet feathers. 2. Wee topknots. 3. That shade of Lipstick. She’s wearing all of them.
Dear Heather,
I agree with every word you said in this post. I love it when you express my thoughts so perfectly.
Wow, the comments are so mixed — wonder what the result of a “Fug or Fab” poll would have been?
SINCE the 90s are back in every way, people are doing burgundy lipstick again. HOWEVER. Is the rest of this okay? I don’t…I keep squinting at it and WANTING it to be okay, given that she’s clearly made an effort but…is the dress the equivalent of ombre hair extensions? I’m not…sure…that’s good. Then there’s the teensy tiny topnot SCRAPED back from her forehead. And the tanning issues. Altogether, I’d say this has to be a miss.
