I read somewhere once upon a time that Edward is Elizabeth and Phillip’s favorite child. I don’t know if he was chosen to accompany Mum to the sport because the old man isn’t well or if Charles and Anne were scheduled elsewhere. You certainly can’t take Andrew anywhere.
He is. It’s why he didn’t get in too much trouble when his old tv production company was stalking Wills round St Andrews during his first week at uni. And why he gets to be Duke of Edinburgh when Prince Philip dies.
I’m sure you’re right that Edward is her favourite child, but Anne was there as well. She was just down the line a bit, next to Boris Johnson (would LOVE to have been a fly on the wall for that conversation).
In all honesty, I heard Andrew was her fav. Hence all the Fergie/Trade Rep/Koo Stark hooey that he went through. I mean, there he was a War Hero and The Spare, now it doesn’t matter with Wills and Harry around; Sarah is an albatross around his neck; they jerked him back from being a Trade Envoy, now what does he do? Even the Queen doesn’t seem to know!

I know everybody is big (yes, pun intended) on Hot Harry, but he really will age into Charles – and Wills looks very handsome (even with the other Windsor Crown), and will age like a very fine wine. Oh, Wills.
I agree. I think William’s least attractive decade was his twenties, but he was a much more attractive teenager and I think he’s going to be a very attractive middle-aged (and older) man. Whereas Harry is gorgeous now, but I think it’ll fade fairly quickly. Either way they’re both cuties, though.

As a sidenote, do you know the British call that the Mexican wave? What is that about? What makes it Mexican? Without fail, since I (a Canadian) have been in London, every British person I know consistently adds the Mexican adjective.
I’m from New Zealand and we call it a “mexican wave” too. I thought that’s what everyone called it! Do Canadian’s & American’s just call it a “wave”? Weird!
I think it might be time for me to do a google search to find out why it’s called a mexican wave here.
Okay, I have an answer. The “wave” had been around in the USA for a number of years already but was only seen by a wider audience in 1986 when Mexico was hosting the football world cup, hence it is known as the “mexican wave” outside of North America.
