SAG Awards Fug or Fab Carpet: Anna Paquin

fug-or-fab

It truly is time for that Ghostbusters III movie they keep threatening to make. I’m serious: we’re getting zeitgeisty up in here. First, Ghostbusters star Sigourney Weaver almost pulled out Fug Nation’s Best Dressed at the Globes (and would have, I think, if Amanda Palmer had more disorganized fans). Then, just this other day I had this whole conversation about whether or not Ray Parker, Jr — composer of the Ghostbusters theme song — was dead. (He’s not. STAY ALIVE RAY.) And now Anna Paquin, like Lily Cole before her, wears a dress from what I’m privately calling Alexander McQueen’s Zuul Collection:

I actually originally thought it was the same dress, but of course, now that I’ve looked at them both, it is not. It just has a similar Gozar The Gozerian aura to it. Don’t misunderstand me. While some people would think that comparing the pattern on a dress to an ancient, evil, shape-shifting demon is an insult, I actually like this. I will admit that I’m not 100% sure if I think it’s fancy enough for the event. Even though I do kind of like the idea of treating the SAGs — or, as I call them, “Hollywood’s Most Self-Congratulatory Awards Show,” which is saying A LOT — as a sort of more casual event. Okay, I’ve talked myself into it: THUMBS UP.

  1. medp

She looks good in it, but I suspect most people wouldn’t.

  2. bubba

This looks great on her, I think mostly because it is a more conventional fit than Lily Cole’s version. Although I am sad about the wrinkles in the front. I also think her shoes look fab with the dress. Boy, Moyer sure is wee isn’t he? He looks so much taller as Vampire Bill.

  3. Supercomfy

It could do with a little less sternum.

  4. Molly

Has everyone had Quualudes for breakfast?
That dress and those shoes are both atrocious.
    I am the key-master.

  5. MS

I thumbs-up it, too, actually, but I don’t like how it’s making her look like a bobble head. Her head looks enormous. Is it her wee tiny lower half? Is it that broadly exposed neckline that draws the eye up simply highlighting what actually is a large head? I don’t know. But I like the dress.

  6. wakeupmaggie

I think when you are wearing a pattern that’s unique and ‘done’ (hand painted, or whatever), you are allowed greater latitude where its classification is concerned. The pattern cranks it up a notch if it’s a good one.

I think this is a good one and it almost makes up for the Golden Globes shoes. These are adorable.

  7. Jenny

I’m glad I’m not alone. I like the dress on Anna. It’s not necessarily something I would choose for myself, but I think it works on her. But even if you hate the dress, I don’t get the criticism that it’s not appropriate for the event. Um, it’s the SAG awards not a funeral or wedding or even the Oscars. Who cares about what’s appropriate for the SAG awards?

  8. Flo

What’s with the reptile coming out of her lady cave?

  9. vandalfan

Too much of not enough over her chestal area, and the blue balloons in the pattern there don’t help. Maybe she’s got it on backwards? And, plus, those icky plastic shoes.

  10. Kathleen

My thumbs are so close to being up on this one but I’m VERY distracted by the Georgia O’Keefe image painted over her lady parts, with the eggs above it, waiting to descend. Plus it’s wrinkly, which adds an even more disturbing subtext to Anna’s uterine display.

It’s like being at the Human Body exhibit or flipping through my Health & Human Sexuality textbook from high school. And I just noticed the blue boob patches at the top. Surely these patterns didn’t just happen to land there by happenstance?

  11. Mel

I dunno. I loved Alexander McQueen’s runway show, and thought the dresses looked fabulous in that context as quasi-alien works of art. I’m not sure about it in real life. (If the red carpet can be considered ‘real life’. Ha!)

  12. M.Amanda

She’s not frowning and didn’t borrow something from her mother’s closet. I’ll give her a pass for not being dressy enough.

  13. Jill

Are those the same shoes she wore to the globes?

She looks cute, but this is a dress that needs to be worn with messy hot hair and a ton of eyeliner. Not Kim Zolciak hair. I think someone like Kristen Stewart would pull it off better.

  14. Maggie

I think she looks fabulous, but then again I love wild prints. Love the shoes too.

  15. Lara

I like the pattern, but a dress with such a bold print needs a very simple cut. No cleavage and no puckers.
And whatever happened to the rule, you either show legs OR boobs?

  16. melanie

the “boob patches” kathleen points out are hilarious and distracting.
anna also looks really uncomfortable in it, like she’s afraid to move without exposing herself in an unladylike way.

  17. Henriette

A little less cleavage would have been nice.

  18. roguetamlin

Really, my thoughts about the dress are speaking through what I imagine Stephen Moyer is saying in the background.

“Yes it is something else, but we’re going to dinner after this, you see and we didn’t want to get changed in between.”

  19. filmcricket

Never mind the dress, what was up with her accent while she was presenting?

Okay, the dress. I don’t mind the pattern, but I’m not a fan of showing that much sternum.

  20. snaillady2

Oh, c’mon! She has a demon mouth at her va-jay-jay with a bright yellow spot indicating “press here for scream”!

  21. Lara

I really like this! She looks more beautiful than I’ve ever seen her look before. The heels are a big improvement over the “Child of Beelzebub” ones she wore to the Globes. Dear Bubba, of course Stephen Moyer looks short, she is wearing 4 inch heels plus is standing a good foot in front of him.

  22. Hannah

Either it’s wrinkled in the front or it’s too tight. I love it anyway.

  23. FF

I like it but her hair is all wrong. It should be all up with the little bit behind the ear. Also her head seem out of proportion big in that pic. If it’s an accurate representation then maybe the dress is wrong on her?

ps – Do not ask for a Ghostbusters III or we will probably get a sequel like The Lost Boys II. Be afraid.

  24. funderpants

Those shoes are atrocious! What is with these killer dresses with agonizingly heavy clodhoppers?!?! Cage heels, cankle booties, peep toe boots… Almost make me nostalgic for dresses over jeans.

  25. Carolina Girl

Is this supposed to be some sort of representation of what Alexander McQueen thinks women look like inside? But at least she’s not covered in an inch and a half of spray tan.

  26. geemee

I think it’s wrinkled AND too tight. The seams at her midsection are probably screaming. That said, I still like it. The shoes, too.

  27. jeck

vindication for the print from Lily Cole’s dress…this is super pretty!

  28. Sarah

    I covet her shoes.

  29. Kimby

Loved it on TV when I couldn’t tell it had some sort of alien bug thingy staring at me from her … well, you know. It is now disturbing and going to cause me nightmares.

  30. Jenn

The colors don’t complement her skin and hair. It’s not an awful dress, but it does nothing for her.

And I’m concerned with this picture because she looks like a rather unhealthy twig. I thought she had more weight on her body than this.

  31. amy

My initial reaction was “Oh, pretty colors,” but then I looked closer and thought “Eew, creepy insects.” Then of course I read the comment about eggs above the lady parts and that’s all I can see.

She is showing quite a bit of sternum, and I think she’s just too small and lady-like for that bracelet. On the plus side, her hair and make-up are very flattering. Such pretty eyes.

Looking at this picture, I can tell I would definitely tower over Vampire Bill. I guess I’d better hope Eric chooses to nibble my neck.

  32. prairieportia

I just wish there were about 30 percent more of it.

  33. Miriam Jonker

Please, this is an atrocious dress! The cut, the colours, the nechkline, the shoulders () the prints, the colours, the prints (sorry, I got stuck bacause I was blinded), it’s all screaming and ugly. Couture of not: this is too horrenduous to look at.

  34. Naz

I think she looks pretty. I’m not a huge fan of the print, but she’s making it work, I think.
I do have one major complaint, and that is Ms. Paquin’s aggressive skinny-ness. Girl, go get yourself a cheeseburger or two.

  35. MissTam

I have only one complaint. When you are going to the SAG awards, it is best to be conscious of being saggy and overexposed. We don’t need the visual aid, thanks. Other than that, I love it.

  36. Minabelle

I like the cut, the fit, the length – even the colors. But oh lord that pattern is just awful – I second Kathleen’s comment about the “Georgia O’Keefe image painted over her lady parts, with the eggs above it, waiting to descend” – YES, that’s it exactly.

Without the pattern I do like it a lot, but with that pattern it’s just EW.

  37. Miriam Jonker

Please, this is an atrocious dress! The cut, the colours, the nechkline, the shoulders, the prints, the colours, the prints (sorry, I got stuck because I was blinded), it’s all screaming and ugly. Couture or not: this is too horrenduous to look at.

  38. Miriam Jonker

Please, this is an atrocious dress! The cut, the colours, the neckline, the shoulders, the prints, the colours, the prints (sorry, I got stuck because I was blinded), it’s all screaming and ugly. Couture or not: this is too horrenduous to look at.

  39. dinsdale

I like this dress very much. (I am a sucker for prints.) This dress is a lot better than the Lily Cole one, that’s for sure. Like I said in that post, with this much pattern, you need a simpler cut, which is why this works for me. On the con side: it is pretty wrinkled and I don’t think it is formal enough for the event. But she is young and can totally work something this fun.

  40. Steph

I for one can never get past the gap in her front teeth. It drives me nuts!

  41. Jen

Where were those shoes when she went to the Globes???!!! These would have rocked with that gold dress!

  42. lauren

love the dress, hate the shoes and her expressions. and, yes, it is too casual.

  43. lisa

Shoes aren’t great. I like the dress, but not how it is wrinkled in the front. The wrinkles wreck it for me.

  44. Reject

I like the dress, but I just can’t give it a thumbs up.

I am someone who is always looking for an excuse to dress up, and what better excuse then a red carpet? And, as the fug motto goes, when in doubt always dress up, never dress down.

Great dress for an after party, but never for the event.

P.S. The SAG awards are just one giant act of self satisfaction for Hollywood. Too bad we never get to enjoy a climax.

  45. Jenna

I don’t know why, but I kind of love it. I love the dress, I love how it looks on her, I love the shoes, the hair, makeup, everything. And I think that the fabric makes it acceptable for the awards show. In general one is better off with long dresses, but, short isn’t wildly inappropriate.

Anyway, I’m saddened that she is going to make a ton of worst dressed lists, because I don’t think she deserves to.

  46. Martha

Paquin also gets points from me for great finishing – her hair, makeup, and those FABULOUS shoes all made me much more receptive to the dress. I think I would like the dress by itself more if the pattern was a touch less busy, but all in all, I think she looks great.

  47. Sweetsinger

Much better than her misstep at the Golden Globes. The pattern is young and sassy, the colors work well, it fits, the shoes actually set it off, and she rocks it.
My only issue (admittedly a picky one), is the illustration of a lady place right over her, ahem, lady place.

  48. Emilee

Is it just me or does she look uncannily like David Letterman?

  49. Kim Boe

Misstep at the Golden Globes? She looked fabulous. I know a lot of you hate her Globes shoes but I loved them. Don’t think they went well with the dress but they were pretty fierce. She was a standout for me. The dress is neither her nor there for me but she looks beautiful. Best I’ve seen her. Perfect make-up and I love her hair. Shoes are great and so is the man-accessory.

  50. sarah i

I think we get too much samey samey tulle infested nudeish whiteish squirrel on shoulder gownage lately. So, good on Anna. And, shoes are SOOOOO much better than the Globes. Really really great shoes, that don’t fight the dress, don’t look like hooves, etc, etc.

Also, I am reflecting – am I so starved for genuine whack-job swanishness that a little bit outside the norm is deeply appealing?

BTW had to explain the term whackjob to a brit on Friday…got a little tricky.

  51. Alison

It needs more fabric, either at the neckline or the hem. I’m with Lara on this one – show boobs or legs, not both – I think that’s what is making it “causal”. Right now, she looks like she’s going to go club it up somewhere. I’d also like it to be a little looser – it’s too tight looking.
That said, I love the shoes and the pattern (descending eggs, boob patches and all).

  52. Karina

Lower the hem, raise the neckline a bit and you have a winner.

  53. Kestralyn

Like the style of the dress (would love it with less underboob), can’t get past the pattern: it gives me a migraine.

  54. Anna

I actually mainly just love Anna Paquin.

  55. Ana

the pattern reminds me of watching avatar…like they took all the animal prints and colors and arranged them together on this fabric. also, the cut makes her boobs look horrible…very segmented and plastic-y. and is it just me or has she lost some weight since she last filmed true blood?

  56. Lindsey

As long as she keeps showing up with Vampire Bill, I’m okay with whatever she wears…

  57. Lisa

I think she looks cute, plus it’s the SAG awards, not the Oscars!

  58. kate13

I think the sudden skinniness attack is the result of the photo being from a sort of 3/4 angle. And the wrinkles are because she’s standing like her tummy hurts.

I could get behind this if the pattern weren’t so centered. This dress commits the same crime as Tina Fey’s GG dress: BOOB EYES, and compounds it with a COOCHIE MOUTH.

  59. Elissa

Once again, the shoes are awful, but she has a sexy vampire behind her, so that really makes up for everything.

  60. Zulkey

to me it reminded me J Lo’s famous Grammy’s dress, where you don’t notice the dress so much as how hot the body is wearing it.

  61. MEP

I really love this and I think it looks great on her and the shoes are amazing — but it would be perfect for the MTV Movie Awards insteads of the SAG Awards.

  62. Sarah

I actually kinda like the pattern, Gozerian or no. However, I wish there was a solid panel (or hell, even a tank top) slightly north of the Hellmouth.

  63. kate13

…and I just saw Drew Barrymore’s dress, and what it reminds me of is, around 1990 when people were buying farmer’s overalls and wearing them with the top unbuckled and flapping around. Now I want to see her pull that cupcake liner up and stick her arms through it.

  64. wtfnyc

HATE the dress, but then again, I like to wear my vagina on the inside, so maybe that’s just me. Love the makeup, hair and shoes (though not with the Dress Of Gynological Fug), but preferred my Pacquin with slightly more thigh and slightly less breastbone.

  65. Rebecca

    Not with those shoes, honey!

  66. khitchi

Isn’t she wearing the same shoes from the GGs last week??

  67. Catherine

Her hair looks really good, as does her date. Everything else, I could do without (esp. that much chestal area showing. Wasn’t one Awards show enough?)

  68. Catherine

Her hair looks really good, as does her date. Everything else, I could do without (esp. that much chestal area showing. Wasn’t one Awards show enough?)

  69. Everyone's Angry Mother

It’s SO close – I wish the deep V neck was a little less deep. I’m mot being a prude, or a body-typist, but the resting point of the V is in the wrong spot for someone of her tiny proportions.

I don’t mind the print, which on 99.9 percent of peeps would be a disaster. I think the length is fine for the SAG awards and I covet those shoes.

  70. sugarkat

The dress is interesting, but after her shiny-shiny-down-to-there dress at the Golden Globes, I would very much like to see less of Miss Paquin’s tits in the near future. All it does is remind me how much older than she Stephen Moyer is, which just makes the unsupported and partially-exposed breasts thing creepy. Okay, you’re no longer the little girl who won an Oscar for performing in a severely depressing drama set in Australia anymore, fine, I get it. Just try to find something that doesn’t show off quite so much of your fun-pillows, Miss Anna. Or at least find something which supports, as I fear your nips shall be at your knees come age 35.

  71. Chie

The dress is fine. I like it. Her FACE though… YIKES. Old hags-ville here she comes. She’s got that “rich 40-something year old Newport Beach housewife who wears Juicy Couture tracksuits and giant cocktail rings everywhere” face. (Her hair is not helping either.)

  72. hz

It makes her navel appear to be the center of the universe.

Also, all I can think about is vagina dentata. From a feminist perspective, I’m not sure if I find that admirable or appalling.

  73. HeartBreaker

    Breasts, Fantastic.
    Hair, Glorious.
Legs, Just the right amount of thigh.
I’m not sold on the pattern but the aqua looks great on her. Considering she’s really only known for 1 movie and a sequel she could have gone for something more attention grabbing but she took the high road. Good for her!

  74. Samantha

It’s a beautiful dress. She accessorized well and her hair and make-up looks great, so she’s basically rocking. However, it does seem a little casual compared to the ball gowns some other ladies are wearing.

  75. MN

Before I get to the issues I have with the actual outfit, I have to state that this is not award show appropriate.

I don’t like the neckline. A dress can be low cut and attractive without being in danger of showing off one’s appendix scar. Too low and it gains an overall trashy edge that takes away from the cute boldness of the dress itself. And I do think that it is cutely bold otherwise. The colors involved look good on her. I am not overwhelmed by the shoes, but they work with this dress.

Anna really needed a bit more color on her face. She looks a bit washed out, and could have looked worse had the colors in the dress been even a touch less bright and bold. Not masses of make up, but enough to make her look as though she actually bothered.

  76. Zu'ul here

At least the shoes go with the dress this time.

  77. Kirsten

    Dress? Shoes? Hair? Anna??

Never mind all that, I’m just grateful for another excuse to drool uncontrollably at the sight of Stephen Moyer.

(I tore my eyes away from Mr Mmmmmmmmmmoyer for long enough to hate the dress, like her hair & make-up, and to note that her shoes are way better than those god-awful hoof things she wore to the Golden Globes)

  78. Anonymous

I don’t mind prints — but the part that’s a Rorscharch test print or else a highly artistic interpretation of a gynecology medical diagram right over the area it’s supposedly covering is… eww.

  79. vanessa

Is that Rick Moranis I see peaking out from her navel?

  80. La Seditiosa

I like the dress. I really like the fabric and the cut, but I’m not sold on the neckline. It’s making her boobs look squashed and saggy. It needs a higher neckline and a bra, then it will be perfect.

  81. Malissa

I love Anna, I loooooooooove her date, I like the dress, the shoes, meh.

  82. liz

I agree with the “less sternum” comment, and also I would’ve loved to see this in maxi-dress form, maybe even with a small train.

  83. marcia

Anna P. looks fine, but I am just SO GLAD that Joan Allen won immunity and can’t get voted off Survivor this week!!!!

  84. Amy

I think she looks fabulous, definitely the best I have ever seen her look! Shoes, dress, purse, make-up, hair – she’s rockin’ them all.

  85. Rina

Why do all of her recent dresses seem designed to draw attention to her cleavage? If it were her best asset, I’d get it, but it just emphasizes how much the wardrobe department contributes to her ‘attributes’ on her show.

The pattern of the fabric is just ugly and looks like a Rorshach test of her privates.

  86. jesse john

very cute. it didn’t work on lily because lily is duke of crazyrown ( read; most overrated working model in the industry. seriously you guys.) already. Anna, on the other hand, appears wholesome and charming ( in no small part due to her wholesome and charming gap and the wholesome and charming character she plays on that wonderful, wonderful show that somehow lost the sag to fucking MAD MEN. mad men is not even that good you guys)(am I allowed to swear in these comments?) so she sort of levels out an unusual dress (i mean unusual in the best way. when I saw this thing come down the runway for the first time I nearly drowned in AWESOME. and not just like ‘this is some pretty awesome chinese food’. I was actually IN AWE.)

  87. KK

I like short dresses on short people, awards show or not. As a petite girl myself, it’s very hard not to look midget-y in a long dress. Plus Anna has great legs (especially for a short girl!). The neckline is weird and a little bit too much, the rest of it I like. It’s nice to see something a little different. I’m so sick of floor length white or flesh-tone gowns.

  88. Amy

2 problems….first: too casual for the event and secondly: she did not own the look, the hair, makeup and shoes needed to rock out for this to work. Take it all the way next time APaq! Please?!

  89. grrrl

    LOVE IT!

Those shoes are amazing. There were so many overly “statement” shoes (in dark colors!) worn with lovely wisps-of-a-dress at the Globes and it was awful — these totally work here.

But what happened to everyone’s lipstick? With the exception of Diane Kruger — who looked gorgeous and did remind me of Michelle Williams (also my favorite Oscar moment ever.. and love that it was her and not a boring “big star”… back when she and Heath were soo in love.. sigh… ok, I digress) — why the no lipstick/nude lip ladies? It does not make you look more chic. Unless you have A LOT going on with your eyes you need a little color on your kisser!

  90. aimalyn

I’m just glad that her shoes aren’t devouring her feet. There’s been an epidemic of foot-eating shoes on red carpets recently.

  91. Mary

A little off topic, but thanks so much for making these Zuul references! I’ve been talking about the Zuul throwback look for like three years now…hopefully this will become a part of our everyday fugnacular!

  92. Lokol13

She is trying to be a butterfly. But comes off more like bluebirds eating (and throwing up) tarantulas.

I’ll hand it to her — only such crotchtacularity could keep everyone’s attention away from her lovely face, skin and cleavage long enough to recoil and gripe.

If this dress had just one of those patterns repeated, like maybe the little lines and blue background, it would be lovely and sweet, young and full of verve instead of dangerously close to Ed Hardy.

Sigh. I <3 you Paquin. Now lock it up!

  93. Will

I love it on her. She’s a little crazy these days, and she seems to love this kind of thing. Every time she shows up on a red carpet now, I’m kind of excited for the kookiness.

  94. Maryscott O'Connor

Sweet jesus, are you kidding me with this THING? Is this the SAG awards or a luncheon in New Jersey?

Bad actress, bad taste… Why didn’t she just wear the same bad shoes she wore at the Globes, while she was at it?

Ugh ugh ugh. For crying out loud, jesus christ on a crutch, you’re at an evening affair, you trollop, not a garden party in the tropics.

    My EYES! It BURNS!

  95. Hannah

    There’s genitalia…over her genitalia.

  96. MadMooby

I don’t know; I can’t stop staring at that gap in her teeth long enough to make a decision about anything she may or may not be wearing. How can anyone be sexy or alluring with a gap? Does no one else’s mind immediately go to Sandra Bernhard when you see this girl and her gap?

    I really hate that gap.

  97. hbsweet

I’m with you, madmooby: the gap between her teeth is wildly distracting, as is the gap between her boobs. Her last 2 dresses have done nothing for her coloring or her figure: girlfriend needs a stylist, and an orthodontist.

  98. Em

I give a pass to the dress, but I wish she’d held onto her natural brunette colour. Blonde looks so pale and artificial and vaguely tacky on her. BTW, commenter somewhere above, that “depressing film” she won as Oscar for as a child was set in New Zealand, not Australia! I should know, I’m Australian, and New Zealanders get mighty mighty grumpy if you confuse ‘em with us. Kind of like Americans and Canadians I suppose, only with weirder vowel pronunciation.

  99. Anne B

Do not be fooled. The Gatekeeper would never wear this dress. (Not with those shoes, and never without some nice distracting lipstick.)

Only those who truly wait for the Keymaster know that the mess going on in Ms. Pacquin’s abdominal area, the foolish fetus-eye boobs, and the cap sleeves (cap sleeves??? AHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAA!) indicate that the creator of this outfit is at best a fake.

    Certainly not A God. (!!!)

Shame on you, Hollywood. There’s entirely too much sliming (and perhaps even some stream-crossing) going on here.

    Zuul out.

  100. CourtneyIRL

I didn’t watch the SAGs, but I have a feeling that she was leaning forward slightly the entire night to avoid boob-pancakes and the whole front of the dress coming up another three inches.

I LOVE APaq. She’s adorable and the dress is beautiful. HOWEVER… I think she needed a size up because I CANNOT GET OVER the fact that it looks like her boobs will be squished if she stands up straight and her dress will shorten itself and keep trying to ride up on her the whole night.

That could all just be me, though.

  101. REL

While it certainly is fab, it’s also too “cas” (as in the first syllabus as cas-u-al) to work for this event. Awesome dress, but that doesn’t make it a good choice to wear it to the golden globe’s.

  102. NYCGirl

Much to my surprise (surprise because it’s very much not my taste), I think it’s cute. I wouldn’t go so far as to say I love it, though.

  103. grouch

    The shoes ruin it.

  104. mags

WHY do people want less cleavage? She’s young. She’s got enviable boobs.
    This is totally a fab.

  105. CheekyMomma

I’m with Grouch – the dress is actually kind of pretty. Her crazy taste in shoes lately (did you SEE the Golden Globes debacle?) is what’s bringing me down on Sookie. Love her, the dresses are fab, the combat boot/gladiator/hoof/pistol (that was greatness BTW – hope you don’t mind if I borrow) combos adorning her feet are not.

  106. melanie

cleavage? there isn’t any cleavage here. more of a gap, really.

  107. Anonymous

Oh please, this is just Godawful head to toe!

First off, peroxide blond is hard for many to pull off. She looks pasty with hardly any makeup. It looks like she threw on some fake eyelashes and lip gloss and called it a night. Does she have fang marks on her throat? She could use a pint of blood very anemic looking.

Second off, Lauren Hutton can do a gap tooth. Anna P’s is really gappy, almost like she has some of those fake “Billy Bob” teeth in her mouth. As someone above said, orthodontist needed.

Third off, that damn dress is so, so, damn ugly on her. She has snake skin balls on her hooch! Is that a black tongue slithering out of her vajayjay? Tone down the reptilian print in the nether regions. Why the Grand Canyon gap on the chest? Sternum’s are not accessories. Cut off the cap sleeve. I would love to see Sigourney Weaver in this on a date night. She is frigging 60 and could rock this!

    Fourth off, burn the shoes!

  108. Cindy

She has an monster vagina (think Pink Floyd’s The Wall man-eating vaginas) over her private parts. Not a good look.

  109. chloe

GREAT dress, but hair is too old for her and for the dress, and the shoes, while fine on their own, just don’t do mcqueen justice

  110. Shelby

I’m with Emilee, she looks like David Letterman in a wig! And, she looks closer to 37 than 27. That girl needs a stylist…pronto!

  111. zuzu

Dreadful. Like a 12-year-old’s T-shirt, except the part where she forgot she was going outside. And can she go back to brown hair? Pretty please?

  112. Razzmatazz

Really people? Is it thaaat bad? I think not!

McQueen was one of my favorite collections this Spring, and so the dress is awesome on it’s own. Sure it may be a wee tight around the midesction, but we’ve ALL seen worse!

I hate these shoes though. The black triangles on top remind me of some weird bikini or something. I’d suggest a less heavy sandal (these distract from the entire look) or maybe a simple, yet sexy platform pump.

All and all, I like it, but I don’t love it…Although I do love her on True Blood, and I think her gap is cute, charming, and lovely!

P.S. Stephen Moyer is sooo sexxay!

  113. Lauren

The deeeeep plunge of her neckline, combined with the fact that I recently decided that I think Anna Paquin looks like J-Woww from Jersey Shore, makes me think that this dress would be better suited to clubbing and looking for juiceheads to hook up with. It’s not a straight-up terrible dress, but for an awards ceremony? No.

  114. Hairpik

Sorry She is so not funky/fab enough to pull this off. It just hangs flat on her like a flag at half mast.

  115. supaflyza

    Its saying:
“I visited David Icke’s lizard-men-from-another-dimension world, wrestled one of the natives to the ground & skinned it to make this dress”

I love the colours, but the pattern is too garish for me.

  116. Anonymous

I love the shoes but they do kinda look like hooves, which i guess go with the dress.

  117. anner

she could be wearing a dirt and glitter salad on her torso for all i care, because all i can look at are those adorable shoes.

  118. Shelby

Her hair doesn’t go with her skin doesn’t go with the colors of the dress. She has very pretty skin and neither dress nor hair color is flattering it.
The cut of the dress is great on her, very flattering to her figure.

  119. Shelby

Her hair doesn’t go with her skin doesn’t go with the colors of the dress. She has very pretty skin and neither dress nor hair color is flattering it.
The cut of the dress is great on her, very flattering to her figure.

The cut of the dress is great on her, very flattering to her figure.

  121. a-dubs

Um, it’s got boobs and a vagina on it. No.

  122. vintageyahtzee

Love the dress, hate the shoes, and as much as I love True Blood, not a fan of her.

PS – she needs to put her puppies away before the next Awards Ceremony.

  123. Queenie

Oh, I just love McQueens work, and the digital prints he’s been working on lately. His show was definitely the high light of last fall’s fashion week, no doubt.
I can’t believe people here don’t respect this work of art. (or that they haven’t seen it before..omg)
Plus it looks amazing on her, perfect for the red carpet!

  124. Sara

She reminds me of a slightly fashion-forward Girl Next Door. But I need those shoes. Now.

  125. Eilidh

I hate her gaptoothedness. HATE IT!

    The dress is fine.

  126. Sassy

She was wearing 4 inch heels with a 2 inch platform on them. I don’t see how she walked in them.
The dress was fugly but all I saw was her gorgeous arm candy Stephen Moyer anyway! With him at her side who cares what she was wearing?

  127. Elisabeth

Who cares, Stephen Moyer is in that shot!
