I don’t know what is going on with Kate’s outfit, but I feel confident that we can fix it.

It’s not that I don’t understand the need to go casual in the winter climes; it’s that I appreciate when people actually try to do it in a creative, thoughtful, interesting way. I FREELY admit that if I were ever at Sundance, or indeed when I am at Fashion Week in February, I would/will totally go jeans, boots, sweater. But then again, nobody would/will be looking at me (thank God) so HA. Life under the radar rules.

Do we think she was ASKED to go with a ski theme, or that she’s just moved to thematic fashion by the surroundings?

So, right after the New Year — when fresh content was slim — I had a “Where Are You?” post started that was a call out to people we used to see a lot but had disappeared. And I never finished it because our site broke, and by the time it was fixed, new stuff was starting to churn out again and we didn’t need it. But it turns out I was psychic, because a couple of the people I would have mentioned have suddenly popped up, one of them being Mia Wasikowska. It’s like she heard my plaintive call and wanted me to know that she’s still out there, and she still hasn’t sorted out her wardrobe.

Oh, Sundance. I love the fact that it’s all either cocktail dresses or furry boots and sweaters — finally, starlets understand where/why Uggs are meant to be worn. That said, I’m not sure Kate scored a home run on either front. Here, I keep thinking this dress is a performance art piece called Stomp: The Death of Sebastian the Crab. Right? Something about the pattern of the sequins looks like a crustacean that rudely met its end under the sole of somebody’s Ugg. Or… maybe I’m just dehydrated today.

Fugs and Fabs: Elizabeth Olsen and Dakota Fanning
I hope these two are doing a buddy comedy. Because I want to watch it.
