The Fug Life of Timothy Green

“This is weird, right? It’s weird. Right? Does anyone understand this? God, I miss being Sydney Bristow sometimes. She would know what to do.”

I am pretty sure I just saw that black lace skirt in my online shopping exploits. For the cool, cool price of $769 that awkward lace thing can be yours. It’s actually kind of cute not on a person. And it might be cute on a PYT from the CW or something.

All that aside, Jen looks like she’s moonlighting as part of a Tejano musical group. With three young children, I don’t know where she finds the time.

The last outfit is pretty good, all things considered. I think I hate all things of this type of sleeveless variety (i.e., that look like the sleeves were surgically removed), and would prefer this as a tank style (i.e., scoop neck, larger armholes) — “sleeveless” as opposed to tank or strappy tends to look constrictive and makes arms and shoulders look bigger/boxier. I don’t think any woman wants her dress to make her look sturdy.

Funny, I just wrote the same thing about Beckinsales’s top, only I was comparing it in my head to the thing Jessica Biel wore yesterday. But yes, that’s my issue, these high-necked things look suffocating and heft-making.

Interesting. To me, the neon top looked ok in this respect because it is looser and the armholes are bigger. For me, more than anything, it’s the tight armholes that sink the battleship.

Sorry, yes, I was saying the neon top worked because it had more room in the neck and armholes. But the Biel top was all up high and yuck.

Tejano musical group. Heheheheh! This is spot on and made me crack up. Thank you.

Picture 4 confirms that I would hate J-Gar’s shoes with any outfit. What IS going on with that first outfit? Is there a naked homeless lady somewhere trying to figure out who stole her clothes?

I agree that the second dress (like the red one she word earlier) does have a neckline that makes her look a bit sturdy, but I still like it. I give her a pass because I imagine she has post-pregnancy boobs to wrangle, and I applaud her managing to look cute and pulled together and covered up and not frumpy, because that is hard to do right after having a baby.

The first outfit: that skirt is not nearly so bad as the shirt. Ugh. Not flattering at all.

I love that she wore the same shoes, which are cute and look comfy. And that she looks generally healthy and happy, which is always a plus.

Oh I totally agree. I actually think that second dress is pretty darn good and I applaud her because I bet it must be difficult to dress when your body is not its usual self. Was just pointing out what I thought could make it even better!

The shoes with the last dress make her feet look like hooves.

For a second I thought the first picture was of Eliza Dushku. I don’t know if that’s good or bad, since both are known for their ass-kicking acting gigs.

Ok. I thought this the last time – has she had facial work done? I thought she looked so cute before…now she looks different…

I think neither outfit does her any favors. Even the last little number is off. Maybe if it were a more summery fabric…?

She is so pretty; I think she is just puffy from sleepless nights with baby.

I am not digging the first outfit, but I think she looks great in the blue. And I can’t help it, I love her smile! She seems full of joy, which brightens any outfit. ;)

I’m getting Khloe Kardashian in the first pic. Is that insane? Hate the first outfit, but the second is great on her.

Rarely do I speak out loud to my computer screen, and that first outfit elicited an audible, “Oh, GOD.” You know, a lot of stuff on this site is just plain crazy. Daring but doesn’t work, and sometimes desperate screams for attention that make me chuckle. Lilo’s get-up today rarely raised my BP, I just more scrunched my brow. But to go full-on Sears “Today’s Woman” department? Man, that took me off guard. That is what some grandmother in Iowa wears to the Dinner Theater (something starring Robert Goulet) with her thick nude hose and plastic flats. Why? Why would she do that to herself? WHY? That is beyond horrible.

I don’t think button down blouses look good on most women. Even without gaping buttonholes, they look awkward and puffy. And make her look puffy, even though she is not.

All I can think is “Wow, her hair is really shiny!”

The last dress has this weird visual effect going on.

It’s as if the blue part of the dress is a placeholder for the real Jennifer Garner, which is in the middle of materializing after being trransported (yes, as in Star Trek transporting) from another dimension.

Both the dress, and my description (I know), is kinda weird.

*I* miss her as Sydney Bristow. I know she’s got kids and all now, but still, can’t someone give the woman another role like that? Seriously, chick flicks and disney movies are a dead end!

She definitely looks much better when she’s feeling (or at least acting) Fierce. There’s no saving that black and white get-up, but her face sure looks better in the third slide. Love the blue.

She looks great in the last shot–shiny gorgeous hair, great dress, excellent. The grey stripe though, is producing this weird optical illusion where it lookshe like the concrete wall behind her is dividing her in two. Anyway, even the shoes are non-awkward. I am so OVER the hooves people have been sporting for the last several seasons, in one incarnation or another (booties! enclosed platforms! weird peep-toe boot hoof awfulness! Also, maybe hooflike boots need a new word, like “booves”.). So all together, well done.

Yuck – her hair looks so greasy and weighed-down with product in the first picture. And what the heck did they do to her face? It looks like they just slapped a ton of clown make-up on her. Ugh… I hate it when people ruin people trying to make them look “better”. Jennifer Garner always looks best when she looks like the girl-next-door-who-could-also-kick-a-terrorist’s-ass.

I could have sworn the person in that first getup was a brunette Jessica Simpson.

Is thick, heavy, gaudy, bubble gum pink lipstick supposed to be A Thing now?

The 1st outfit is a mystery I don’t want to solve, but her face and her hair are pure gorgeousness! Now, the 2nd dress kicks ass, like Sydney Bristow, and the shoes are cute! I miss Alias!!! Anyway, the second outfit is a FAB!

I looked at this and was like oh with the top I think she’s doing an update on the cowboy shirt. I thought this because I get the Zoe report and the latest one features cowboy shirts. And Zoe is her stylist I think so that would make sense. And I think it could actually look quite good with well cut jeans and cool shoes. Maybe cheezy but even a leather tie as a necklace. But the skirt just doesnt do anything – for me or her.

No plain black pencil skirt in the wardrobe?

This is straight up Temple Grandin Formal Wear…which is not bad , but definitely not for Jennifer Garner.

The first look is very rodeo queen, without the fabulousness.
The second look does not do her justice, that dress is boring and doesn’t flatter her body shape whatsoever.

Just jumping in to comment that the movie looks HORRIBLE. They are promoting it like crazy on The Disney Channel (it must be from a Disney subsidiary) and so I have seen ad after ad, faux interview w/ J Gar and the kid actor ad nauseum, as my kids are addicted to The Disney Channel.

I don’t know why they are promoting it to kids, as my 9 and 11 year olds are like ‘why is this movie on our channel?’ It is faux whimsical, faux fantasy, an alien child sent to teach us all lessons about life.

I wish no evil for Jennifer Garner, but I hope the movie dies a quick death, along with her terrible, obviously un-Rachel Zoe’d outfit.

The black and white blouse reminds me of gigantic color-blocked polyester blouses from the 1980s (shudder), and the skirt is a static cling disaster. She looks great in the last slide, though.
