Unfug It Up: Eva Mendes

unfug-it-up

It is a measure of how much I secretly love The Rachel Zoe Project that, in looking at this, all I can hear is Rachel saying in a frantic tone that she needs to find something for Eva to wear to Venice, while Taylor pulls her hair over her face and looks put-upon and Brad looks sympathetic and slightly nervous.

I must admit that, while I don’t wholly dislike this — I don’t THINK — I am neither dying, nor am I going bananas. I think, for me, the big issue is that she seems under-accessorized (though you’d think the pattern on this dress would be accessory enough), and I haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate the headband. I just want to snatch it off her head and drive away in that boat. Eva Mendes is not Blair Waldorf and while I love Blair Waldorf as much as the next girl: Thank god. If I learned anything from the last Fashion Week, it’s that most grown-ass women in twee headbands look ridiculous and I feel like…this is bearing that out. But what about the rest of it? Do you love? Hate? Feel the crushing ennui of total indifference? Are you concerned that the fabric was inspired by the collected leggings of Van Halen? You get to play Rachel Zoe in this scenario, so play nice and get to work.

  1. Marina

I like it! But I would LOVE to see that print in something shorter and more daytime….

  2. marsha marsha marsha

I get to play Rachel Zoe??? TAYLOR, YOU’RE FIRED.

  3. Janice Marie

    It is hideous. NEXT!

  4. Laura

Blech. Although she’s standing so weirdly and that might confusing things. I feel like it makes her look big which she surely is not. And the pattern is wretched. Yeah, just don’t love it at all.

  5. Abby

The dress feels a bit “formal” but the rest of her looks a tad casual

  6. Cassie

I like the print and color a great deal. I agree with Marina that it would probably look better in a more daytime cut, though.

No exposed zippers! I like that look under some circumstances, but it just ups the tacky on a leopard print.

And nix the headband, Eva. It’s stupid. And bulky.

  7. marie

Lose the headband and I absolutely LOVE it!

  8. Jess

Maybe take away the thickness from the headband and put a chunky bracelet on? Let her hair down too, she’s got no glamourized make up to show off.

  9. Jocelyn

What the hell is even on that headband? It looks like a lacquer Mickey Mouse head. The dress is too much “rawr I’m sexay!” It’d be better knee-length.

  10. Shaky

This is just TOO MUCH DRESS, especially with such a busy pattern. If it were a mini with a kicky pair of sunglasses holding her hair back, instead of the headband, I think the outfit would look fun and summery. Alternatively, if the dress were a softer colour and without the print, Eva could look like she was in an ad for a Caribbean vacation package.

  11. Samantha

Definitely lose the headband! Hair at least partially down would be better. It looks like there’s also some sort of strange side tie or ruching going on around the waist, which should also be gotten rid of. Then maybe some black bangles and a necklace? And better makeup, like a smokey eye or something. And… make it nighttime.

  12. jayleah

it’s kinda boring…even with the crazy loud print. i don’t die; she’s not shutting anything down.

  13. j

In other pictures, you can see the exposed zippers more clearly. And they are clearly fug. They’ve got to go.

The headband is too twee for the red leopard look.

Also, whatever it is about this dress, she is standing awkwardly in every picture.

I think it pretty much has to go!

  14. Aurora

Like the dress, hate the headband. She could use some accessories as well. Samantha, I don’t think she’s wearing ANY makeup.

  15. Kathryn Andrews

It seems like a WHOLE lot of dress…and somehow makes her look quite matronly. I imagine older women at a benefit in something like this (and there would be a lot of jewelry and Very Stiff Hair.) Maybe it would look better in a solid color? With jewelry?
I thought the headband was sunglasses…

  16. kate

I thought the headband was sunglasses at first, so maybe if she were inside, it would look more normal? I think if the dress were cocktail length, with a black band at the waist, it could be cute. Her makeup could also use some punching up.

  17. Hawkes

I love it! I think she’s just standing kind of awkward like she might fall into that boat at any moment, add a glass of campaign and a bigger bracelet and I think it’s fabulous!

  18. stylewylde

To me volumr of skirt is the biggest problem. If it were knee length and more form fitting, ditch the headband and rock some fierce loubs, it might work. Then again, I may have just turned her into a total prostie circa 1984.

  19. Tiffany

There’s something wrong with the cut. It makes her look wide and hippy, two things she most definitely is not. I think a shorter cut with some cute shoes and a chunky bracelet and you’re in business. It’s just overwhelming her as it stands.

  20. Nicole

Yes, I agree. Shorter. Different hairstyle

You know what might also be cute, though, is if it lost the drop waist and had an empire or natural waist with a back-tie sash. That would make it so much more breezy and summery instead of going-to-middle-school-formal in red leopard print.

  21. Mara

I would make it just above the knee, and give it a pencil skirt instead of the voluminous thing. And lose the headband.

  22. Miss H

It’s not bad, but not stunning. No fug points, no props.
    (I don’t hate the headband!)

  23. Anonymous

See, I love the dress. Can’t really see the headband with the res on my monitor. Think the whole thing would look better if she were owning the dress, instead of having some pained “If I don’t keep my arm tightly clasped to my body, the whole top is just going to fall down” posture.

  24. tasneem

Eva is a Fabulous Lion of a woman

This dress belongs on a washed up Beverly Hills Cougar… And somehow reminds me of a twisted sister video.

    stop the madness.

    where’s my latte ??

    fix your hair
    love, zoe,

  25. victoria

I think red and black are too harsh a contrast for a leopard print, and I also think that a LOUD print like this one will usually do better in a shorter dress that doesn’t take itself so seriously.

But the main thing I would do to unfug this and other pics is counsel Longoria Parker on posing. In this and other pics, she looks really cold: she’s holding her elbows tight against her body and her shoulders are scrunched way up around her ears.

While I hate Angelina Jolie’s obsession with drab, safe, monochromatic frocks that usually fail to showcase her killer bod, I have to hand it to her on the posing front. She really nails that effortless, relaxed, calm pose (except for those pinkies-out clunkers she took in the Michael Kors leather dress).

  26. Bex

It’s awful. It doesn’t define her curves nearly enough. However, the terrible headband draws away from the terrible dress.

  27. Brooke

disregarding the dress (which is just “ok”) abd agreeing on your headband comment, I love this. her minimal makeup, her healthy size – she looks lovely in animal print. ANIMAL print! I think the cut of the dress is stylish and flattering and it would be phenomenal in an interesting print and devoid of the headband.

i love Eva – my bias is very obvious, but there is nothing truly “fug” about this outfit.

  28. Patty

This fit looks off. Doesn’t it look like she’s holding it up with her arms?

  29. Sherri

No, I’m in the “hate the headband” group (and I occasionally WEAR the damn things, but only to Wal*Mart).

I think she’s standing weird, and the dress looks even more odd given the background/setting. She’s not in a long evening gown area in that picture, and that’s throwing everything off. But it’s her stance, with her arm pulled in blocking the line of her body, that’s giving her the thick look. Still, not my FAVORITE cut.

I keep thinking I should hate the pattern, but I don’t. I’m trying, but it’s more interesting than tacky.

The thing is, with that much dress going on, she needs something ELSE to go with it. It’s like she started going big and backed off, turned coward, ran home. A stunning collar necklace or a big giant bracelet, or something else that could underline that statement might make it look more on purpose, more finished.

But, yeah, get that headband off. She’s not 7.

  30. Count Snarkula

For the daytime Emmys? Yes. For Venice? No. More jewelry, less skirt, cinch it in tight and GET YOUR HAIR DONE!

  31. Matt

I didn’t even notice the headband with all that leopard. I just think there’s too much print and it’s overwhelming her. As others have said, i’d like this better in a short above the knee version, and even then, i’m a little skeptical. Maybe a wide black belt to break up the print?

  32. Jennie

Ugh. I hate that dress. Hate, hate, hate: the color, the cut, the pattern — it’s just awful!

For me, absolutely nothing will save it. I say, find a new dress!

I guess, at the very least, make the dress short instead of long and annoying. Or even if it were a tube top with nice jeans/pants it would look better. But being a giant red cheeta blob?? No thank you.

  33. Becca

It is a bad, bad, bad look on a gorgeous woman. It looks like something from Chico’s “Wild Nights” collection. I agree that it makes her look bulky and big and does her beautiful figure no favors. And I will say it again, nay, I will scream it because nobody seems to be listening: UNLESS YOU ARE 5’9″ OR ABOVE AND HAVE THE FIGURE OF A TWO-BY-FOUR, THERE ARE SO SO SO SO MANY STYLES THAT WILL BE MORE FLATTERING ON YOU THAN A MAXI DRESS. I can’t wait for that trend to go away; maxi dresses do not complement Every Woman and yet Every Woman seems to be wearing them.

  34. Regina

I like the shape, I dont like the print. If it were in a solid color, or a bighter color it would totally work for me. Also add a cute chunky necklace, and hair up.

  35. swedish fish

Make it knee-length, rip that god-awful headband off, and put her hair in loose waves. Add chunky bracelet or sparkly earrings and Voila! she is back to being a hottie again.

  36. manscaper

The big problem is that the dress is 10 years too old for her and the head band is 10 years too young for her (and also not positioned right on her head)

I like the top of the dress and the pattern/color, but the cutt is a bit mature for her. I don’t like that it looks like the top and bottom halves aren’t one continueous line because it’s hitting at her widest part and adding some pounds and years, that we know from Calvin Klein ads are not there.

I’d keep it from the waist up, but make the bottom more streamlined and give it a big slit, it is Italy after all.

  37. Leslie

While the dress is pretty, it is much too formal / evening for this setting. Either shorten the dress and lose some fabric (along with the headband) to make it “daytime,” or keep the dress, but add a fancier ‘do, some lipstick, and a bracelet or two.

  38. Karen

It’s too fancy a cut for that crazy a fabric. I’d ditch the skirt and make the whole thing ruched and take it a few inches above the knee (keeping it fitted). Lose the headband, wear the hair down and flowing so that the look is more steamy sexpot and not…whatever it is now. Add some kick ass black strappy sandals, some very simple jewelry and we’re done!

  39. Eurydice

Can’t really see the headband, so *phew* The dress seems fine in context – kind of strong, yet relaxed. I agree with everybody on the need for a bracelet of some sort, and I can’t really tell what’s going on around her middle. Some sort of pleating, bunching, swathing? It’s making her look a little chunky – but in a totally Bronzed Amazon Leopard Woman in Venice kind of way.

  40. Jenn E.

With the pattern behind her (it seems to be a rock wall), the stripes on the pole next to her AND that dress… it’s all too busy. I know she can’t control her surroundings, but it’s something you need to think about with a dress you’ll be wearing for photos. That print is too much and the style seems somewhat 80s to me (which is not always bad, but not great for Venice).
Also, red on her = NO! Stick to pink, yellow, even green, but not that.
The headband is great…if you’re looking for flair to add to your Catholic school uniform.

  41. cammie

didn’t Alexis Carrington Colby have this as a nightie?

  42. Crystal

In other pictures of this dress, the zippers are HORRIBLE and the headband is even worse than it appears here (as if I would have believed that was possible). I think Eva Mendes normally has impeccable taste, but this is just NOT GOOD!

  43. nate xxx

Since she’s preparing for a relaxing day on the water (or so it seems), if this were a flat red maxi without the chiffon nonsense then it might be fine- even with the hair band. A girl has to have something to battle against the wind on a boat. It all just looks a touch formal and accessories would simply fuss up an already insanely fussy pattern. She needs to turn down the volume a little!!

  44. amy

I love everything about Eva, even the way she looks in this dress. BUT: ditch the headband, Sweetie, and put on a Snuggie if you’re as cold as you seem to be.

  45. Art Ecletic

I love the dress – although for daytime wear I think I’d like to have seen it in a peacock blue instead of “f*** me red.” Hate the headband. For accessories, I’d have added a wide band bracelet but not much else. Big dangley earrings would make it look too formal, as would a necklace.

  46. Maria Bustillos

    Hideous. Ack.

  47. Meredith

I had a shoulder-padded, turqoise sweatshirt dress with that same pattern back in 1986. I am not nostalgic.

  48. Suzanne

I saw this yesterday and thought it worked for her. Maybe not the headband, but the dress is stunning on her.

  49. Allie

I would unfug it by making her change out of it and then lighting it on fire. This dress cannot be saved. It’s terrible. The exposed zippers are terrible, the headband is terrible, the length is terrible, the pattern is terrible, the weird draping at the waist that makes her look wide is terrible.

The only good thing about this dress is that Eva Mendes touched it.

  50. angrynikki

i agree that she needs to lose the headband. she needs something chunky on her neck or the wrist. the print might work if the dress hit right above her knee. it’s too much fabric for that print.

  51. Veronica

I actually don’t mind the headband, I just think the dress needs to be shorter. And she could maybe use some funky bracelets or something.

  52. coco

    I DIED!

  53. Psyche

Cut if off just above the knee, ditch the headband, put on some small gold earrings and perhaps a bracelet, and I LOVE IT. As it is, I like it, though I couldn’t even see the dark headband in her dark hair at first. Once it was pointed out to me, I wanted her to lose it.

I also share your secret love of the Rachel Zoe project. If Taylor would like to move on to something else, please let her do so. I’ll happily take her job.

  54. Anonymous

@victoria..longoria parker? I think you misspoke yourself.

Otherwise, lets all agree Eva Mendes is IT. There is really no one who brings it like she does, when we are talking the whole package. I feel like she’s too real for fame, and maybe that is weighing on her. Cause she’s not missin nothin.

The shirring on the hips of this dress is the only problem, you cannot layer/fold/fuss with a print like this all over the torso without seriously going awary, as we see here.

She needs tiny jet beads…like, in her hair, dangling from her ears, layered around her collarbone, in a wide bracelet at her wrist.

I’m not even discussing the zipper.

  55. Alyxherself

  56. vakadesign

Hmmm…I love me some animal print, and this cut and fabric are a nice change from the slinky styles to which big cat prints are usually applied. But the red? It’s a bit visually screamy-shrieky and it hurts my eyes. So a less obvious, richer color with that print would be nice. A deep purple? A softer red?

And for God’s sake, take off the headband. You’re aren’t twelve.

And a pretty, sparkly necklace, please.

  57. djheydt

Welll… I would never wear that dress in a million years, but then nobody is asking me to. (I don’t wear bright colors and I don’t wear prints.) Aside from that, I think she can get away with that dress. The print is the only busy thing about it; it has no frills no ruffles no sleeves no collars no bustles no ruches.

No, I don’t think it’s under-accessorized. Any possible accessory I can think of — even a plain necklace or bracelt — would tip it over the line into busyness. The whole look of that dress on that woman in those surroundings says to me, “It is hotter than hell out here, if I put on one more thing I would start sweating visibly.” As it is, it looks as if she is dealing with the heat and surviving it with aplomb.

As to the headband, sorry, ladies, my monitor is none of the best and I can’t see any headband. What headband? Is it the same color as her hair? [scrolls back up to take another look] Nope, I can’t see a headband at all, which hints to me that maybe it’s not as awful as all that. If it were fluorescent orange and covered with Hello Kitties, that would be bad, but since I can’t see it at all it can’t be all that obtrusive.

  58. Tsipa

Ugh. Eva Mendes may be pretty and whatever, but she is a scandalously terrible actress! The outfit would be fine if it were on someone else, and she would be fine if she would only take up real estate or something and leave poor poor film alone.

  59. AC

I think the dress it’s awesome. The problem is just that she is not honoring and owning it as it deserves. As it is, she looks like she stepped out of the dressing room where she was trying it on. Eva is missing earrings, a slicked black bun (no headband of course,) buckets of eyeliner and mascara as per her usual, and a black ring or black nail polish and voila, chic and bold all the way through. It’s not the dress, it’s the styling.

  60. Erin

It’s just… too much. Eva Mendez is already beautiful enough that she doesn’t need a loud, old-lady print to draw attention to herself. If it were just plain red, knee-length, and she had more mascara and lipstick on, fine. Add some chunky jewelry and make her hair a little bit bigger and messier. Eva Mendez is sexy — she shouldn’t have prim bridesmaid’s hair.

  61. Sharon

I agree with AC. She looks good in the dress, but she just looks like she is at the store trying on dresses. Once she gets her mascara on, some lipstick, and runs a brush through her hair a couple of times, she will look great.

In any event, I would gladly go through life with one less kidney if I could look as good as she does in the photo.

  62. Dara

Yawn. The print is the only thing exciting about this dress. Lose the headband, change the cut, and pose like a grownup, dear Eva, and we’ll have something to work with. Clearly, this was a screw up organized by Taylor who can only hope to implicate Brad in its epic disasterous-ness.

  64. laura

    i love the headband!

  65. CarrieParker

While I don’t hate it .. there is just … a lot of spots. I feel like acres o’ spots is a bit informal a fabric for this formal a length SOOOOOO – either shorten it to a nice above-the-knee length, or lose the spots and we’re good to go.

  66. banana w.

it makes her look heavy. absolutely fug.

  67. Beffgus

Ditch the headband, chop dress off at knees or so, add totally killer black heels, perhaps a chunky bangle, and she’s good to go.

  68. luvthefuggers

Hmm, I like it when I am looking at the top but when I view the whole thing it is too much. The skirt is to volumny or something; too much red leopard print. I guess the dress is okay but I wouldn’t miss it if it weren’t there. There isn’t much you could do to it to make it better; less is more in this case.

  69. Christina

So, I actually have to say that I LOVE THIS…headband and all. Part of the reason I love this probably has to do with the person WEARING it. I feel like she can totally and completely pull this off. I am totally not a fan of animal prints, but this is funky and different and the muted makeup and non-accessorization (made that up) I think makes this WORK.

  70. Jill

The fit is off – it’s making her look bulky/hippy and we all know she definitely is not either of those. Shorten it, add some makeup and a hairstyle and hot shoes and she’d be fabulous.

  71. Kate

lose the headband, chop it off a good bit shorter, and add some good jewelry. Then, I like it.

  72. Hanna

I think this would be the perfect outfit of the plastic decorative element on the headband were the face of a leopard in mid-roar.

  73. anne

look… normally i love doing this. but there’s just something so heinous about this dress… plus that headband. i HATE it. it looks outdated and very ill-fitting and terrifyingly ’80s.

evaaa!! take it off and put something else on. something red and fitted and fabulous, but minus the leopard and the headband. and fire that stylist. or whoever forced you to put this on.

  74. Maggie

Love love love the dress. Bananas. But that headband? No.

  75. Maria

Unless you’re Kerry Vincent rocking a headband on Food network Challenge to give you some style while wearing a chef coat, avoid headbands after, say, college.

Also, that leopard print/bright red combo is giving me a headache.

  76. Danielle

You know, I don’t hate this either. I can totally handle the formal vibe since Eva Mendes looks so tall in this.

    Minor corrections:
    - Darker red, so the pattern seems more subtle
    - Swap the twee headband for makeup and a necklace

  77. Andrea

At a minimum, the dress is not fitting her properly. This is a woman with a totally sick body (see Calvin Klein underwear ads as proof) and yet the dress does not do any justice to her figure. The dress needed to be severely tailored to fit her better.

  78. Wendy

Something about the style plus the color plus the pattern makes it look like a prom dress that my 11th-grade self would have thought was, like, totally awesome.

  79. Kay

S’too long, to start with. The red is too much with the leopard print. The headband just needs to die.

  80. Some Lady

Because Eva is a goddess, she almost pulls this off. But if any of us mortals tried to wear it, we’d look hideous. The headband is too twee, the pattern is gross (although I do like the red color on its own), and the design makes her look pudgy around the middle, which girlfriend surely is not. I would take off the drifty long bottom bit and just make this a tight mini-dress. No pattern. Hair down.

  81. Karen G

She looks matronly. Animal print in general says cougar – trying to look younger. And it never works.

Shoes are too clunky with it, go for something sleeker.

    Hair is too prim.

  82. Peony

I hate the whole thing. That dress makes Eva, A MODEL, look frumpy. If it had sleeves, Mrs. Roper would be wearing it. And yes, the headband is stupid and not age appropriate.

  83. Hegs

Love the dress, but it needs :
some sexier strappier, higher, sleeker shoes
a couple of darker bangles so that they stand out with that dress and against her skin (the pretty silver thing does nothing with that dress)
Hair, at first I thought she’d pushed her sunglasses onto her head, which would actually work better than the head band. she has lovely hair, she should let it be free. let it out, whack on the sunglasses and I’d be happy to see how it all come together.
    h

  84. jem

You’re right, lose the headband. I sort of feel like it should be a different color, like a really bold blue. Also the length looks weird, but maybe that’s just because of the shoes? And she needs more color on her face.

  85. Rayna

LOVE Eva………red animal print, not so much. It is a whole lotta dress, even for a stunner like her. My fix:

    1) Dress: make the red cat print thing a corset top, which it practically is, ditch the voluminous yards o’ stuff in favor of a slightly wider-than-typical black pencil skirt (you could even do satin if you want it to look snazzy/evening style) and add a wide, soft black leather belt.

    2) Jewelry: I’m with the jet bead suggestion above. Jet bead multistrand earrings, necklace and bracelet would look great.

    3) Accessories: classic, black beaded clutch, black patent strappy sandals.

    4) Hair: either sleek updo or soft and casual, but you gotta commit to one or the other.

    5) Headband: no. That’s just wrong.

Et, voila! Gorgeous Eva, good to go.

  86. Hazuki

She needs a belt or something to define her waist!!! That AND she needs to not stand like she is modelling a dress in that dress picking scene in Gigi!!!!

  87. Alyxherself

@victoria..longoria parker? I think you misspoke yourself.

  88. charlotte

or rather, could we talk about how you have chosen to insert those outrageously irritating roll-over search engine adds to your blog? now those, i hate.

    the dress, i love.

  89. Wrinklerella

This fabric belongs in a lounge suit. Worn with blue hair and reading glasses on a chain around your neck.

  90. Cecily

It’s the age-old question: is she wearing the dress or is the dress wearing her? I don’t know if it’s the angle, but it looks like she’s enormous, like The Attack of the 50-Foot Animal Print. Like at midday, the skirt will go up like a patio umbrella and shade the gondoliers from the noon sun. I don’t think accessories would help, either. IMO.

  91. JESR

Patty, up there somewhere, mentions that it looks as if she’s holding the dress up with her elbows, and I concur; add that to the look on her face and I’m forced to think that “if I move this thing is going to blow off” is the only thought in her mind.

Wearing a strapless chiffon maxidress to cruise the canals of Venice is the sort of fantasy appropriate to a sophomore European Lit major; in three-dimensional reality it’s awkward and uncomfortable. If the weather’s breezy enough to demand a giant headband to control your hair, it’s too windy for climbing in and out of a vaporetto in a long fluttery dress. If the top’s insecure enough to make you feel like keeping your upper arms clamped against your torso, you’re one bad step off the pier from being naked from the waist up. And those shoes look as if they’re going to make her eventual bad step onto the boat inevitable.

The animal print is neither here nor there: she looks good in the color, and I suppose if she’s going to be having canapes she might want a print to obscure grease-stains, but all in all, something shorter, less fluttery, and with a head-piece which looks less like a splint for a skull fracture and more “summer in Venice” casual would be advisable.

  92. Nichole

So, I am usually a fan of bold prints. However, this one seems way too bold on way way too much fabric. Maybe if the dress was shorter? Maybe just above the knee.

The headband needs to be burned! She has such beautiful hair, why hide it behind an tween band?

  93. Valentina

She looks chubby. How is that possible? It must be an evil dress, possessed with the ability to make everyone who looks upon it have television-vision. I agree with the headband comments–she actually looks matronly and twee at the same time.

Shorten the dress (in fact lose about half of the material) and let her hair down.

  94. La Seditiosa

    Mmm, Van Halen…

I think this would be fine if the skirt was tighter and shorter, say just above the knee.

  95. kpod

The dress is lovely but it is Too Much. Cut it short. And, I confess, I secretly (OK I guess I’m not good at keeping a secret) covet the headband.

And I am almost 10 years older than Ms. Mendes.

  96. Charlotte

That print is awesome on her. It would be so much more awesome in another dress: sleeveless v-neck (or some sort of non-fussy strap), fitted through hips but with the print all going up/down (none of this breaking up directions), above knee. No flouncy flouncy, especially not on the hips.

Beaded necklace (I’m thinking jet) and some sort of coordinated earrings … they can be drops since she’s got her hair back. Bracelet would be nice.

Different headband or hair treatment – excellent idea, bad execution.

    Shoes/clutch: black please.

  97. billiejean

    make it white
eva mendes is perfect. Let her face and body work its magic; leave the dress plain

  98. Jael Paris

I like the dress. She needs gold cuff bracelets to add glamour.

  99. Zhenya

Loose the headband and the ponytail, but on a gold necklace and bangles! Simple really…

This dress was clearly from the Blanche Devereaux “Safari on the Lanai” collection.

  102. Anonymous

    she looks like a giantess

  103. 'Mela

    I like this dress.

Redo the hair in an elegant updo, hair accessory-free.

Add drop black pearl earrings, necklace,
    and ring…

    Note to photographer:
Have the model step away from distracting paint chipped backrounds…

What a difference a few steps away would’ve made!

  104. gabypoppins

You’re all mad. It’s DIRECTIONAL, people.

I might have just bought a dress just like this.

  105. evalyn

I agree w/Jael Paris: Gold cuff bracelet, maybe some heavy gold at her throat, and a better hairdo. Love the dress and she’s wearing it well. But…where is she? Going to the barber down on the docks? That background is totally distracting.

  106. Snarkula

This dress is hideous beyond redemption. I loathe it – the colors, the print, the cut, recycle this joyless thing immediately. If the wild ugliness of it were not enough, it makes her look dumpy! And frumpy! NO!!

    The headband is just stupid.

Get her a sarong-ish dress with a wrapped bodice in an ultra light silk, sleeveless, cut to four inches below the knee or so, in a muted peachy rose with very subdued vines embroidered on it in a quiet goldy bronze. No headband, let her lovely hair down, give her some bronze sandals, a turquoise bracelet, some malachite ear drops, and some nice tinted lip gloss.

Tell her how gorgeous she looks.

  107. Anonymous

Make it more like an homage to Hedy Lamarr–shorten the skirt of the dress so it’s sarong style and shows off her legs, center-part the hair and wear it down, give her 40s style glamorous makeup and an exotic jungle flower behind one ear.

  108. Francine

I LOVE the idea of a flower behind the ear!

  109. Charlene

    Dreadful in every way.

    1. Lose the straight-across neckline. With her broad shoulders it makes her look 30 lb. heavier.

    2. It’s absolutely the wrong colour for her. She needs to stay away from maroony reds and stick with warmer tones.

    3. The sloppy waistline and the exposed zippers make it like it’s falling apart on her body.

    4. Seriously, the colour is horrible on her!!!

    5. It’s like the dress version of a mullet – part sporty and part business – and it’s just WRONG.

  110. Maria

I hate animal prints so I’m not a fair judge. But I agree with many of the above posters; I thought the headband was sunglasses, the cut makes her look matronly and hefty (though still undeniably beautiful, and she looks pretty happy despite the weird awkward stance they caught her in. I don’t see any exposed zippers, probably because my eyes are failing. I like the color, I like the flowiness around the hem - and hey, so sue me, I have no problem with the length during the daytime once in a while.

  111. Anonymous

She forgot to shave her underarms and has bags under her eyes and looks sickly.

  112. Luanna

    1. Lose the animal print. The dress should be solid red.

    2. Her hair should be down in waves, with no headband.

    3. She needs some lip gloss or lip stain in a red or berry tone.

    4. Add a short, slightly boho necklace, maybe also with some red in it.

  113. Lokol13

Charlotte’s idea (haaaaay girl!) almost has me convinced the print could work in another cut / concept. But generally, hate this cut-print combo, and the hairband. Also — Lisa Rinna kind of owns leopard print, now. Get your own thing Eva.

  114. Annie Q

It looks like the dress on a fabric store mannequin where it’s not actually a dress, just lots of fabric draped and pinned to look like a dress. And leopard print is awesome in small doses, especially with jeans, but not in floor-length drapery-inspired dresses that aren’t quite right for daytime or evening.

  115. sol

Looks like C3PO, dressed by Tina Knowles.
Animal print + fluorescent colour = ack.
(Animal print + fluorescent colour) X boring prom dress style = aaaaaaaaaarg my eyes!
Wish she was wearing what’s on the pole next to her: un-fussy, asymmetrical striped column. With elegant neutral slingbacks. Done.

  116. Gretchen

I don’t love it or hate it. I do think animal prints are a bit too cougar, no pun intended.

  117. hlp

Eh, I just can’t bring myself to unfug this up. I’m not crazy about the print, but nor does it make me want to stab out my eyes. I agree that the headband has to go.

  118. L

This dress is just all wrong. Honestly, it looks like she walked into Joann Fabric’s blindfolded, picked out the whole bolt of fabric, and then wrapped it around her body.

She should have gone with a short and sassy cocktail dress that shows off her famous curves. Also, she should have let her hair fall in loose waves instead of hiding it behind that headband. Finally, she needs a little more blush and a really great shoe. Then she would be smokin’.

  119. Suzy

Ooof! This is Way Too Much, in Every Way. Too much headband, too much fabric, too much orangey in the red, too much animal print, too much gathering, too much horizontal line.

I love animal prints more than the next gal, but I think Luanna has the right idea in keeping this dress a plain red, and freeing the hair in long waves. [Someone PLEASE burn that headband immediately.]

Then it needs to be toned way down in color, because the brick red does her skin tone no favors, and the straight-across bustline and waistline have to go. I think Eva could wear that cut in a sleek, form-fitted fabric, especially in black or white, but not with all these gathers and brightness. She looks HUGE here, despite having a perfect body, so the dress is basically criminal. Okay, I’m done: burn this dress and put her in a sleek, off-white sheath with a sexy off-the-shoulder neckline. Hello, Venice!

  120. Meg

So, I agree with the plain red. And I also think that the headband should be lit on fire, ASAP, if only to get her to remove it.

I’m also with those who think the fit is off. Mendes can make a burlap potato sack look sexy, but she looks oddly (and clunkily) proportioned in this. The length doesn’t look quite right (look, if you’re going red, and leopard, that thing should be sweeping the ground with some DRAMA), and the more I look at her, the more I think that the ruching/gathering whatnot going on does nothing for her figure.

  121. Mallory

add a bracelet – seriously, ANY bracelet – and a red lip, nix the headband. voila.

  122. mish

I hate this dress. It’s wrong all over.
I don’t know why everyone has such a problem with the freakin headband – its so unobtrusive. The dress is the disaster here. Makes her look so heavy and uncomfortable and the colour and the print and the cut and the length are all just AWFUL

  123. Zippy

This is VILE. It looks like a 70′s caftan that was dyed with sacrifical blood, cut up and wrapped around her body like a sheet. The makeup is for grocery shopping and the headband?? YUCK. Fugly, baby. Fugly.

  124. Bambi Anne Dear

The dress is both dull and hideous. It looks like she’s hiding thunder thighs and a huge arse somewhere under all that material. The material itself is great, but for the moment I can’t think of anything to make with it. Maybe just a sleazy afternoon caftan?

  125. Paige

Oh my god, I didn’t even NOTICE the headband.

If I have to double-check something THAT big, your dress is too loud. It might be better if it were chopped at the knee, and maybe tailored to fit, but otherwise she looks like Cruella DeVille in pajamas.

  126. Rose

Just get a new dress. End of story.

  127. whirlygirl

Gorgeous color but too much dress. She needs a chunky gold bracelet.

  128. z

LOVE. but get rid of the headband PUHLEEEASE

  129. RenaissanceGrrl

I would be okay with a plain headband, but the flower is too twee.

I think this would work better in a red carpet/evening setting, and for this time of day would work better as a knee-length a-line skirt.

But that’s ALL I’d change. I love it.

  130. L

I saw another photograph of her wearing this dress, and in that other photo she looked FANTASTIC from the neck down. So I think some of her problems here stem from a bad angle in this photo. She seriously needs to lose the headband, punch up the makeup to match the drama of the dress, put her hair down and in soft waves, and get some chunky black accessories (I think a necklace and a cuff would do the trick). And there you have it: gorgeous.

  131. Why doesn't work give me a shoe allowance?

    a. LOVE LOVE LOVE that dress! Very Eva and also very very Italian! Seriously people, in Italy people can wear head to toe leopard and still look classy and amazing. She’s just fitting in.
Also can this dress be donated to my wardrobe afterwards? Please? I have already mentally restyled in into my rock chick maxi dress with motorcycle boots and a cropped tight leather jacket. Ok, back to Eva..

    b. the massive headband has got to go. I love the hairdo (with that kind of dress hair needs to be up) so replace it by the simple, narrow, black ribbon hairband.

    c. other accessories? It is quite the dress and Eva is stunning so a simple big black (stone) bracelet.

  132. nikki

lose the dress, lose the headband, start all over again. this girl is sex on legs and she looks FRUMPY.

    hair should be DOWN.
    makeup should be DONE.
    legs should be ON DISPLAY.
    RED ZEBRA IS NEVER OKAY.

    ok, i’m done.

  133. nikki

oh crap. red zebra – i meant red leopard.
clearly this dress has driven me to drink.

  134. Christina

This is probably the loudest boring dress I’ve ever seen. Cut the hem off and make it a mini, perhaps… And why does Eva Mendes look like it was sunday 4.34 am? Makeup? Hair? Happy face? Where are you??

If this photo was taken on her free-time, then it’s ok that she looks like the rest of us but if she was in some kind of occasion… no, NO!!!

  135. Why doesn't work give me a shoe allowance?

I’m quite surprised with so many people suggesting to turn it into a mini dress. Mini loud animal print tends to look cheap really easily. Also it is not approriate for the occassion (the opening of the Venice film festival- black tie dress code).

BTW I looked up the red carpet for Venice. While Eva’s face looks very jet-lagged and puffy the dress looks pretty good in most other pictures (this one has an unfortunate angle).

  136. Ruth

I don’t hate it but somehow it makes Eva look quite large.

  137. Why doesn't work give me a shoe allowance?

Ruth, that is not the dress alone ;)

I’ve seen other pictures of Eva holidaying in Italy recently. It seems she is enjoying her pasta (as one should in Italy!) and put on a few pounds.
And unlike poor apple-shaped me, most of those have gone in the right places too!

  138. D

I was going to say EITHER not leopard OR not red would be OK. Then I realised it looks tp be exactly the same fabric as a leopard-print shirt I got from Chelsea Girl when I was, like, 12; now I want to incinerate it.

  139. barb

this print on a mini dress with some chunky heels and heavy bangles would look awesome on her…
of course, she’d had to loose the headband…

  140. Lisa

Eva Mendes is a gorgeous woman and in this she looks blah. I think that says it all.

  141. lori

Ditch the headband and add several chunky bangles, and I’m on board. This wouldn’t work on some random young starlet, but on Eva Mendes, it is aces.

  142. Jennifer

I like it (except the headband which I did not eve notice til I read it in the post).

  143. Flah

Cute dress, gorgeous color on her, but just way too much of it. It makes her look hippy. Shorten the dress, remove some fabric weight. Plain gold cuff bracelet. And sorry, but I like the headband. She’s outdoors, possibly getting on a boat. Gotta keep that hair back or it flies forward and glues itself to your makeup.

  144. Sweetsinger

I love being different. I think she looks wonderful. You don’t have to look like a stick to be glamourous. She’s curvaceous, OK?

The dress is bold and loud, like Ms. Mendes. It complements her curves and complexion. I’m OK with the headband–it enhances the pseudo African animal look of the dress, though I’d like it better with black feathers.

All she needs is a little makeup. Jewelry would be too much with all that print.

    Rock it, woman!

  145. Sweetsinger

  146. Vanonymous

I actually kind of love this. At first I thought her headband was sunglasses, which I preferred. I like the idea of this being more casual. Take off the headband, take off the fancy shoes.

  147. Jilly

Hate that headband. I had one like it in 7th grade.

I think if the dress was made a little more daytimey, it would awesome. Shorten it, take a few of the layers off of it, maybe a touch more color on the face and a gold cuff bracelet and killer heels.

  148. Dave

    Lose headband.

Add chunky black necklace and bracelet/bangle.

    Aaaaaand we’re done.

  149. marybeth

Lose the headband. Too much ruching on the bodice for such a busy pattern, does nothing for her figure. The skirt of the dress looks like she stole it off the windows at the Bunny Ranch.

  150. cammie

and by the way, I know you’ve got to get paid in order to keep us in fug-nation 5 days a week, but the roll over ads are incredibly annoying. at least give us hints as to what tips it off and we can avoid using them – like the secret words in PeeWee’s Playhouse.

  151. Jess

As previously mentioned, too much print for too much dress. What about cutting it off at the waist, making it into a bodice of sorts, and pairing it with a pencil skirt and gold dangly earrings?

  152. MAmanda

It’s not the right cut for her. She’s curvy, but this makes her look just plain wide. A wide belt would help, I think, define her waist a little. A chunky black bracelet would look much better than that small sparkly thing. If she keeps the length and wears this as a daytime dress, the skirt really should not be so voluminous. But I think it would be best to just shorten it to just above the knee. She’s got gorgeous legs. Show them off!

And the headband doesn’t bother me at all. What seems odd to me is that she looks uncomfortable, like she keeps forgetting that, no, she didn’t forget to secure the top so it won’t accidentally expose the ladies.

  153. Kaitlyn

Honestly, I don’t think it’s the Satan’s prom dress that everyone’s making it out to be. If the designer had avoided that unflattering drop waist and made it into a long, flowy empire, I think it would be kind of nice.

Shortening the hem by a couple inches, showing off some sweet shoes, and STANDING UP STRAIGHT could also help.

It doesn’t help that she’s all pattern and no texture: even with all that print, your eye just slides right off her.

  154. Alexis

This is just not good on her — and she knows it, given the way she is standing. She’s a pretty girl, but the dress is way too overwhelming. I agree that shortening it would be a good improvement, and the headband definitely has to go. But add in a nice, sparkly necklace or purse or something. Eva is better than this.

  155. Lulu

Blammo! All I see is a dress wearing a woman; not the other way around. How about doing it in a softer, darker red or wine color, with a little ruffly-edged slit coming up in the front to take away some of the fabric weight at the bottom? Diagonal lines on the bodice would also look better than the straight-across cut.

  156. Wes

The headband would be okay, if it were even MORE twee. That thing is so big it looks like a hat. That it matches her hair isn’t helping things any. And I don’t like leopard print on anything but accessories, so an entire dress of it is a bit much for me. I would unfug this by…making her change clothes? Is that an option?

  157. Lisa

    Hiiiddeeeeeous.

  158. Wil

I have to say she does look fine as hell but I ain’t too sure about the leopard print. Then again, what the hell do I know?

    Wil Harrison.com

  159. LawSchoolChick

It would be beautiful if it weren’t for the hair; I feel like SHE would be wearing the dress, not the other way around, if she had her hair down, soft waves, and half up (a-la the Goddess Angelina Jolie)…or even a mid-way up do put together loosely. GFU is absolutely right…the headband kills it. No necklace necessary but some black earrings would help too.

  160. Casey

shorten to the knee. Sexy tall shoes. Take off the headband that I thought were sunglasses.

  161. Chelle

Ditch the headband (I actually thought it was a pair of sunglasses!) and tidy the hair up a bit.

Hem the dress, baby, to about her knee.

    Sexy pumps.

    Diamond stud earrings.

  162. Lizzz

You can’t shorten this dress – there’s a slight fold at the end of the torso before the dress flows vertically rather than horizontally (like it is from the bust to the end of the hip line). If you were to shorten it, it would shorten her…she could look nice in it with it being long if she did something with her hair and slapped some earrings on

  163. ire

I just hate this dress…come on!

pleaseee post more about Venice festival!!!!

  164. Jessica

Amei, mas eu nao usaria esse vestido (oops.! I loved this dress, but I didn’t wear it). Xx visit my blog…

  165. Meg

While I would have never thought this if I had seen this on the hanger, I like aspects of this. The color and print actually look good on her, the top has a nice shape and fits. But it is WAY TOO LONG. And the headband sucks.

  166. Sophia

Didn’t Freida Pinto wear this dress in turquoise?

  167. Tracy

I have to say, I actually really, really like the dress. I like the contrast between the ludicrous print/coloration and the long flowiness of it. The headband is stupid-looking and the pose is really awkward, but the dress itself? I don’t know… It’s something a little bit different, but the shape is really lovely on her and she has the skintone necessary to pull off a vibrant color like that.

  168. bridget

I would ask the designer to add sleeves. I mean who am I to be asking my IDOL to alter their designs??? I mean I don’t even 100% know that this alteration would work. I just know that Eva would look UUUUHHH-mazing and would 100% own her look!

  169. tagatha

Wow. I didn’t even notice the headband until you mentioned it so maybe the dress is just a tad LOUD?

  170. Anonymous

Haha I thought the hairband was sunglasses, so big is the unnecessary ‘decoration’ whacked onto it. It’s sitting too far back on her head as well.
As for the dress…I think she looks cold, but she has bigger problems in this photo. Eva Mendes is gorgeous and tiny but this dress is somehow making her look lumpy. I don’t know how that is even possible but there you go. Also, print, loud much?? She’s in Venice not the jungle, why is she dressed like a Flintstone at a formal ball? Change the colour to coral and scrap the print and you have a nice dress, although still in need of some structural work. So maybe it’s just not salvageable! I do think it would have worked on someone with a boyish figure and lighter hair though.

  171. Colleen

Yes, definitely lose the headband. Unfortunately I just saw another photo of her today and she is wearing THE SAME HEADBAND AGAIN! She also needs to amp up her makeup. She looks tired and drawn. Some subtle earrings wouldn’t go amiss either.

  172. kristophine

Leaving aside my dislike of the color and pattern, I agree that it needs a hemming–this much length makes it look disconcertingly like a muumuu. I’m pretty sure there are some nice shoes under there, but I can’t see them, which makes her look a little bit like she’s on stilts. Also, I am a proponent of the “go big or go home” school; I say lose the headband and add a coordinated feather fascinator. And a black chain necklace. And arm-candy.

  173. Anna

Hmmm I’m thinking make it a little bit shorter (maybe something ending in the thighish-kneeish region), fix up the make up (she looks like she had her makeup done a stoned snail, who got bored half way through and wandered off to eat cake.) And accessorize girl! I mean you’re lovely and all that jazz, but geeze put a bangle on or necklace, or maybe, god I don’t know, some earrings or something. Anywho…

  174. Bethany

I can’t decide if it’s the cut of her dress or her posture, but the style of dress is horrible. Especially with that fabric.

The bodice is fine, the skirt’s a mess. I say keep the fabric and bodice and turn it into a short, form-fitting cocktail number.

  175. Deb6

It’s totally fabulous, she just needs some freaking-big diamond drop earrings. Really.

  176. Anonymous

I am anti-headband as well. I ALMOST like the dress, except I hate the pattern. That is too much pattern for one dress. Maybe if it were a different, more understated pattern. Or a solid red dress.

I just think animal prints are even tackier when they’re in colors not found in nature.

  177. marcia

I think she looks like she was shopping and stopped in to try on the dress, bought it, and wore it out the door. The headband looks like sunglasses, and she’s wearing Saturday-afternoon-at-the-mall makeup, hair and accessories with an evening gown. If she dressed it up, then we’d see how it looked. I agree though, maybe simpler, shorter, no ruching would all be better.

  178. Alice

    EEEEEEEEEEEEW!
Just no. Fuggity fuggity fug fug. The print’s tacky; the colour’s tacky; the headband made me die a little inside… Nothing can save this. Not even shortening it/turning it into a corset/accessorising.
Also, get some make up on the girl! It looks like her lips have been very badly censored out.

  179. Nyssa G

Wow, it looks like she’s clamping her arms to her sides and hunching her shoulders just to keep the dress on!

    AWK…WARD!

Also, I echo the feeling that this dress doesn’t make her look curvy, just wide. (Even I have the sense to avoid togs that give me that wide-load look and stick with more curvalicious clothing. And I’m a total geek. Surely an actress should know better.)

  180. Melissa

Drop waist = toilet roll holder.

  181. Anonymous

The dress is wearing her, and I think the problem is the length. Take it above the knee, but keep a little fullness in the skirt. I don’t mind that it’s making her hips look more ample than usual – I think if you kept some swirl in the skirt it would make the silhouette bodacious rather than stocky.

Headband, no. It too is contributing to the sense that this outfit is the boss of her, when it could be setting off her natural radiance instead.

  182. Anonymous

I can abide the headband, actually – probably because I didn’t even realise she was wearing one until it was pointed out, and after much neck-craning can still only make out that it is black, and appears to have a flower stuck to it – but the dress.. Oh lord, the dress.

I’m not a huge fan of animal-print, I confess. Delicately-placed A-P accessories can look great, but I can only forgive A-P clothes if the outfit is charming enough.
But RED animal-print? I don’t know. Something about it works me up in all the wrong ways.

    Scrap the cheap-looking dress, pronto.

  183. Anonymous

Oh the dress… no no no. Should have been relegated straight to fugville.

  184. wholesale fivefour

Oh no! Sorry but she looks older and bigger with that dress.

gotta have lipstick if yr playing w/ red leopard.

did i mention i have seen too many leopard revivals & i am kind of sick of it. but that is just personal.

    One word: belt.

  188. Chaser

I find this dress deeply confusing, a bit like scones. Scones have everything in the world I like: butter, sugar, flour. And yet I hate scones. This is the opposite problem: the dress has everything I hate: colored animal prints, drop waists, no straps. And yet I don’t hate it. How can this be?

There is something off about it. I am thinking that it’s just too many trends all at once: the maxi dress trend, the 80s trend, the animal print. I think in this case, I’d like to see the maxi dress trend out of the picture. There’s just too much of that fabric here, and it’s drowning her legs. I think I’d get rid of the drop waist–it adds nothing–and go with the wrap look to finish off with kind of a sarong skirt look at knee length. That would depend on what occasion this is, but it looks kind of resort-y and informal to me, and that would relieve us from all that fabric.

I can’t tell from the photo where the the print is brown or black. If black, I have some vintage jet jewelry that could pull together this look. I’m wondering if the occasion didn’t prompt her lack of accessories? Not sure. But I have a little jet beaded choker and a lovely jet cluster bracelet that could work. If they are brown, some tiger eye or a chocolate-colored cuff?

How she’s standing suggests to me that she doesn’t trust the dress to stay put.

As to those of you who say she looks enormous/chubby/heavy: no, the dress is not slimming, but if this is enormous/chubby/heavy…then I’m a jar of marachino cherries. True, the dress does her no favors. But just because she looks like size four instead of a size 2 isn’t going to get me on board.

GAG! I hate the headband, hate the fabric, and HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE that she’s not dressed for her body type. She’s so gorgeous and curvy and this thing is cut in all the wrong places making her look lumpy. And it’s hiding one of her best assets (nope, not goin there, or I would’ve put ASSets): her legs. This thing is somehow both too young AND too old for her. Boo all around.

  190. sweaver

I like the dress, but if they would have done something much more form fitting and classic on the bottom. And yes, some bejewelment, please.

  191. Tricia

It’s like she is clamping down her arms really hard in an effort to use her armpits to hold the whole thing up.

  192. grrlina

Meh. Dress is okay. Makeup’s too beachy/day time. More lips, more eyes please. At first I mistook her hairband for sunglasses. They might have felt the dress was eye popping enough on its own, but still I’d like some earrings.

  193. GenocidalPixie

Ugh, bright red animal print – and LEOPARD print no less? This is practically too tacky to even be called tacky. We need a new word for tacky to encompass the hot mess that is this dress. Cut off the flowy bottom, and I swear I’ve seen this mass-reproduced in Forever21. And a celebrity of Eva Mendes’ level does NOT need to look like she just stepped out of Forever21. Lose the bandanna, and CHANGE the print. I can live with the colors (even though I don’t feel red is Eva’s best color), but the pattern is so hideously tacky it cannot be saved. The only possible recourse would be to change the pattern completely. I could get on board with a red dress that has big black graphic flower print or even geometric print, just ANYTHING but RED FAKE LEOPARD PRINT!!!

  194. Kat

I hate this. I love leopard print, but not RED leopard print, and not in a gauzy chiffon. Also, I think that the cut is incredibly unflattering. It makes her torso look bulging and way to long, and her legs look too short and unshapely. And as Eva is defined by her hot shape, this dress is doing the exact opposite of what it should be doing. And the headband is stupid. I’d get rid of it all.

  195. butcherbaby

i wouldn’t change a thing about the dress- it is sexy without being trashy, elegant & classy without being boring or matronly, and the color, cut, and print are beautiful and flattering to her. in a word, the dress is gorgeous, and she looks fabulous in it. i don’t even have a problem with the headband, it’s sleek and simple which is perfect with this. if she needs anything at all, it’s a little more makeup so she looks finished, and one big black chunky bangle, plain or carved.
but really, there’s nothing wrong here other than she got caught in an awkward pose.

  196. Meredith

This is one of those polarizing outfits that will get tons of people on either end, I think.

Personally, I hate it. And NOT because it’s bright red and leopard print – I am widely known among my friends to have something of an animal print thing, and I like bold choices.

BUT, all that said – this looks crappy on Eva, which is tough to pull off. It’s weird and bunchy (and ruched??) in the middle, and it looks like there’s some kind of ruffle at the waist, which begs the question – IS THIS TWO PIECES?? No, no way – right? Regardless, it’s a crappy cut.

Also, she’s stiff and awkward in it – the way she’s holding her arms makes me think the bodice is too roomy and she’s clenching to hold it up. Even if that’s not the case, she’s not comfortable and neither am I.

Finally, I am SO OVER THE DAYTIME-MAXI-DRESS. They are EVERYWHERE here in Boston – which means they’re officially past their prime. Plus, they look silly on most people anyway – as my bf points out, he’s never seen a girl wearing one who didn’t look like she was tripping over it.

    Okay. That was too long.

Unfugging: New dress. Shorter, more interesting, better cut, and with some great cuff bracelets and chunky heels a la SWINTON last weekend.

The very best way to find laserlight hair treatment close to you is definitely recommendation and absolutely not through an doctor that is getting a bit of the action. I used to see an MD to have laser light treatments. I had spotty hairy areas and had also been thru the rest of the hair removal systems. I purchased a home laser hair and have never been more happy. At long last I am hair free for the summer months. This will likely to be an awesome year for me.
