I seriously just muttered to myself, “dammit, Kruger. Why do you always look so good?”
Even in something that objectively has potential to go a bit off the rails — or to at least skew a little 80s. EVEN THEN. All this, and Pacey, and you seem like a fun girl. You’re like a character in a Judith Krantz novel; it’s seriously not fair. Although if you actually were a character in a Judith Krantz novel, Pacey would suffer a freak accident whilst skiing in Gstaad rendering him paralyzed and then he’d break up with you nobly and then you’d move to the French Riviera to learn to love again and of course he’d come back into your life on the eve of your wedding to a handsome but shady Prince of a minor, er, principality, and shit would get really traumatic up in there for a while. So maybe it’s for the best that you are not actually fictional — that sounds exhausting.

It looks kind of apron-ly, also longer in back than in front. The boobs area looks weird too, large & flat at the same time. Meh.
Is that garment maladjusted and misfit*, or is it meant to be four inches longer in back and for the bust darts to be dangling around like that?
*Rear Window
I adore the shoes.
Makeup, shoes and clutch a hit, dress a miss.
I like everything BUT the dress. It doesn’t look like it fits right & is actually kinda boring. Otherwise, she looks great!
Ooh OOH, maybe she’s pregnant?!
Yeah, that dress does her waistline no favors. On the other hand, if you need something to wear when headed to the best all-you-can-eat brunch in town with your future Mother-in-Law you could do much worse than this.
I thought she might be pregnant at Coachella, but then saw some pics of her smoking, so probably not(?)
This dress AND the dress she’s in at the Met Ball both look pregnant!
The above ensemble looks great, except for the dress.
Having seen pictures of her in a top and skirt at the afterparty for the Metball, she is definitely NOT pregnant. The girl is scary skinny, though.
I just thought the same thing – did you see what she wore at the Met? Also shapeless and no -waisted. hmmmm…..
Shoes, hair, makeup and clutch = stunning….the jury is out on the dress. There is a weird smock style to the way it hangs on her…I’m not convinced.
I like the dots but the cut isn’t working for me at all.
She looks like a Don’t picture from the back page of Glamour Magazine.
I don’t always like what she wears, but dangit if she doesn’t pull off 99.5% of it. But I do like this. I am so envious of how she can wear a dress that isn’t uncomfortably tight and not look fat.
If my fairy godmother gave me the opportunity to hang out for an afternoon with any celebrity I wanted, Diane Kruger is definitely on my Top 10 list of choices.
she’s a pretty girl, but the dress, argh!
Shoes—drool.
I do not get her. At all.
Thank god. I thought it was just me.
Oh its not! Trust.
Well played? In a saggy mullet dress?
I like the front of the dress, but not the sides and back. Can she just face forward and not move?
I want the shoes.
Damn her for always looking good, even when she is wearing clothes that make no sense!
So unfair.
The cut on the top of that dress is pretty unflattering — it’s doing a crazy pregnant and/or saggy boobs number on her. So no, can’t give you a pass this time, my pretty!
If I had knobby knees like that, I would cover them the [expletive deleted] up. I also agree with remarks above that the dress does not fit in general. This does not work for me at all. I might even be a little mad at it.
You know, negative comments about somebody’s body – especially if there’s nothing they can do about it – are really not necessary. I think her knees look just fine, especially since they look just like mine.
The fit of this dress does nothing for me, so I can’t Well Played it. I like how she mixed the stripes with the polka dots and her face and hair are super pretty, but she is too skinny to have to resort to maternity wear like this.
Love the shoes & her!
This dress looks…like she never zipped it up, no? It’s got that weird shapeless, too long in the back thing that dresses do when they’re all aflutter at the back because the zipper’s still wide open. Imagine it pulled together at the back, pulling the hem up and giving it more definition, and it’s so much prettier!
The cut of the dress makes her look pregnant.
If she’s pregnant it’s a well played, if not, finally something she can’t pull off!!!
Holding my judgement…
I mutter the same thing all the time & then yell “KRUGER!!!” to myself! She gets Well Played in Life! This outfit is darling & I love it! Plus, she gets to home to Pacey… JEALOUS!
Um… no. That dress is doing her no favors. LOVE the shoes tho!
And whither thou Pacey????
It appears that she is at a DVF event, so I assume that this dress is DVF.
THIS is looking good? I don’t get her. I think she rarely looks good.
I think this is ill-fitting and matronly on her.
Kruger does almost always pull it off.
It makes me wonder – maybe there should be a Fab tournament, like a flipside to Fug Madness.
I think the dress is ugly, but I totally want to read that novel. I love that you guys love J.Krantz.
