    Me too.

    • jg

you do? jacket looks to be a size too small. can’t stop myself from replaying Chris Farley’s scene from Tommy Boy – “Fat guy in a little coat…”

  2. marianna

I just like him. The fact that he’s taking a fashion risk is pretty cool, though.

  3. Louise

Hmm. I like the suit, and I usually like a narrow tie, but this one seems a hair too thin. The ultra-skinniness of the tie is kind of at odds with the windowpane check. (I can’t believe I just typed that. Who knew I felt so strongly about menswear?!)

  4. pidget

I like him too, but he looks uncomfortable and hunched here. I think he needs bigger pants for comfort. This could be the man-equivalent of wearing too-high heels and not quite feeling right until they’re kicked off.

    • Trish

      Totally adorable.

Re: the fit of the pants — I wonder if they would be spot on if he (channeling TLo for a second here) got his hands out of his pockets?

      • Karen

I’m with Trish. He looks dreamy–but he needs to keep his hands out of his pockets. It’s the price you pay for a skinny suit.

      • Claire L

Agreed…. the pockets are just there because, not meant for hands…..

  5. Geemee

I like the suit and I like him in it. His hair is suspiciously dark, tho …

  6. meme

y’all nuts. he looks like a nerd.

  7. Jessica

    Nerds are cute!

  8. Libby

Not a fan of that suit – Zach Levi has looked much better than this.

One thing I do like about this look is the well-groomed hair and shave. So often these guys dress up but have the (carefully positioned) bed head and (impeccably clipped) 5-day old beard in hopes of retaining their hipster/slacker cred.

    • Ryn

I love Zachary Levi. He is very funny and seems to be a nice, relax guy. That being said, this suit reminds me of the suits Jim Parsons wears on The Big Bang Theory; just too much of a busy pattern. Though at least the undershirt and tie are patternless.

  9. Anne B

I would like this, but only on Pete Campbell in the Very Special, all-singing-all-dancing episode of Mad Men that I KNOW they’ll do one day.

    Otherwise, it’s a Hell No.

    • Moxie Lola Carroll

The image of Pete Campbell singing and dancing in this suit will keep me smiling all day. That tops any opinion I have of Zack. I love FugReaders. Thanks, Anne! :-)

  10. Jill

He is one of the cutest nerds out there….love him on Chuck! He seems like he’d be a fun guy to hang out with.

  11. Annie

Precious. And I actually think the narrow cut works better on him than the Unholy Hotness that is Ryan Gosling – he’s less bulked up than Gosling and the suit fits very, very nicely.

  12. Aoife

    YES.

  13. Kate

I don’t care for it. He looks like a ventriloquist dummy.

  14. witjunkie

He looks cute, I wish he didn’t look so…apologetic.

  15. LisaE

    He’s always pretty; amazebally pretty.

    • bluesabriel

Seriously. That man can wear whatever he wants. I’ll still adore him.

  16. anne p.

    Points for dressing decently, but:

C’mon, guys … hands out of pockets!

Why has this become the dude version of the hand-on-hip RC pose?
The ladies’ hand-on-hip, done right, can certainly be defended for presenting oneself attractively — but the guys’ hands-in-pockets usually *destroys* their line and look.
So why adopt this silly thing? Shy? “God forbid I should be thought to take this stuff seriously”? Or what?

  17. Sarah

I love him, but not loving the suit. Something’s just off…maybe it’s the fit of the pants or the colour of the tie or his “I’m not really feeling this either” expression.

  18. gin_in_teacups

Dig Zachary. Dig the suit. But I don’t dig this particular photo. He looks kind of uncomfortable, and a guy as adorable as him in that suit should just seem like he’s enjoying himself.

  19. Kit

    LOVE it!

  20. marie

i’ll always choose Zachary over the Gos any day..he’s so pretty, the kind you’d want to bring home to your mom!

  21. BWags

Pulling a Gosling is not the same thing as actually being a Gosling. I cannot, in good conscience, sign-off on this.

  22. Syrax

I think it’s the Alan Cumming Syndrome.

  23. ajm262

I LOVE this man, and I would be all in on this suit (which I adore in concept) if only his holy nerd hotness looked more sure about it.

  24. vandalfan

See, being old and not having a clue who most of these actors and musicians are, I can give an opinion of the outfits free of personal bias. Greg Brady’s coat is too short.

    http://www.fanpop.com/spots/the-brady-bunch/images/10995346/title/barry-williams-aka-greg-brady-photo

    • ChristopherD

I worked in men’s fashion for years, and there certainly have been coats recently that are designed or worn too short, this however I respectfully must disagree is neither. (yes it is shorter than jackets used to be, but fashions change, it does not look ridiculous like “baggy crotched manpris” nor is it pretending to be a “Spencer”.)
The ONLY thing I would change – I’d drop his tie clip about 3-4″.

However you ARE right on in one respect – Greg Brady it is!

  25. SaraK

Oh no, not a well played, please. This is just awful and not at all worthy of him, unless he’s the Artful Dodger in a really awesome production of Oliver! which I absolutely want to see. Only he’d need a top hat for that.

  26. Amanda

Holy cow, are you kidding me? That is AWFUL. I can see that pattern on the jacket, but it would be so much better with sold-colored pants. As it is, it kind of hurts my eyes.

    • ChristopherD

      And no.
This is lovely, well fitted, and fun.
I totally covet this outfit (I’d have worn a way funkier shirt-and gotten away with it, but this is classy.)

  27. ceecee

That is a great deal of rather loud plaid. It doesn’t pass the husband test (would I let my husband walk out of a store with it?) And what the heck is that weird waist-high pocket for?

  28. Victoria

    He’s just cute, that’s it.

  29. anonymous

Shoot, Ryan Gosling, Alan Cumming, Zach Levi – who cares? They all look pretty great in a plaid suit, no matter whose team they play for.

  30. anny

    What’s it all about, Alfie?

(Skinny ties and trousers have been back around a couple of times now. Aren’t we due for a revival of zoot suits sometime soon?)

  31. Jilly

This man can wear whatever he wants. I love him. <3

  32. Hel

I like him very much but no to the suit. Maybe in person, it’s better but it seems to be a way too busy pattern to be covering so much of a body.

  33. The Other Katherine

    Seriously, Jessica? SERIOUSLY?

Is this some kind of a Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid reference?

  34. labyrinthine

    Pants are no bueno.

  35. Sydney

    Nerd Crush!

  36. Joyce

He looks like an old timey TV test pattern. Is he really pulling this off? I dunno.

  37. Emma

What? He looks ridiculous. I nearly cried.

  38. Hima

I love Zachary Levi, but not really digging this suit.

Also, he seems to be channeling Jim from the Office – mostly in the face. Not necessarily a bad thing, just an observation.

  39. Petrova Fossil

This is what Dick van Dyke would have worn to Burt’s wedding to Mary Poppins. Facial expression included.

  40. Sajorina

LOVE IT! I think I’m in love… God bless Ryan Gosling, my dear “Chuck” & great fashion!

  41. Whoofl

    What? This is _too_ awful.

0.) As my mother would say – ‘You’re going on a trip? Your hands are packed’. GET YOUR HANDS OUT OF YOUR POCKETS, NITWIT!
1.) Pants. Too short. Too tight. Rise is too high
2.) Jacket: Too tight in the waist, and probably a bit short
    3.) Tie: Too narrow
4.) Tie Clip (welcome to 1963): Too high
    5.) Fabric: Too painfully window-paned
    5.) Him: Too smug

    Blech!

    • Sajorina

How about you take a chill pill and get some rest and loads of therapy?

  42. Dennis

Why is Greg Brady attending the Video Game Awards?

  43. roser

Some nerds are hot but he is not. And that is one awful suit.

  44. maggie

I think this is GHASTLY. I utterly fail to see the charm. If my husband showed up dressed like this I would lock the doors. And what’s with that silly pinched-mouth expression? Ugh.

    • ChristopherD

If your husband is half the looker this guy is, and showed up wearing this he’d have lots of places to stay if you locked the door, including my place! :-P

  45. oisin

girls are funny. the jacket is too short, puts his proportions off. the tie with that suit is awful, especially with that tie clip. think about the clothes ladies, not the man! the suit is cool though–I dig the bold pattern, the good sized lapels (why wear such a puny tie with those, though? again, terrible proportions!), the hacking pockets (not sure about the button on the ticket pocket, a bit distracting), and the pants are good (if he didn’t have his hands in the pockets making it look all funny). I give it an almost well played.

  46. Simone

I love him, but I have no words to describe just how much I hate that suit. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him dressed so badly

  47. ChaChaHeels

We have lots of reasons to thank Ryan Gosling, but if he single-handedly manages to get male celebrities to dress well, then we owe him more than we could ever repay.

Now if we could only get someone to inspire them all to take their hands out of their pockets! But I suppose we have to think of baby steps when we’re watching an entire demographic leap up from shabby jeans that pool and then fray at the heels worn with sneakers and backwards ball caps to actual clothes (featuring zippers and buttons and seams) made for adult men.

  48. Michael

I want to like this, I really do… but I’m just not sure he’s really pulling this off. Props for being adventurous though.

  49. NYCGirl

    Too much pattern.

  50. kiernan

This should be terrible but it’s kind of great? HIS NBC SLAVERY IS OFFICIALLY WRAPPING UP, PUT THIS MAN IN FILMS, ALL THE FILMS.
