Is it just me, or is she wearing a green thong (to match her shoes and clutch of course) under that dress? It sure looks like it. I like the front, very pretty and simple, but the back not so much…and the green thong kinda ruins it.

She isn’t wearing a green thong. Her underwear isn’t showing at all. I think what you’re seeing is the fringe doubling over on her back, which gives the appearance of a thong shape. Go to zoom, though, and you’ll see that her underwear isn’t visible.
I like the back of the dress, but the misspelled tattoo cheapens the look.
Those green shoes scream bridesmaid to me and are a touch too far with a green dress.
I had to zoom in on the zoom to see it, but yes, it is the fringe doubling over on itself that gives the impression of a thong. The design itself is quite beautiful, but the impression it gives it unfortunate.

I still don’t like the fringy-drapy on the back, but the rest of it is pretty. And she herself looks great.
I think actually it’s the way the beads of the back decoration are hanging. Since the beads are a sea foam color, when they bunch together the color is darker.

I like this, and she’s not really my favorite, generally speaking. The lower back works for me since the rest of it is fairly modest by Hollywood standards. I do love the color of the shoes, but it’s really hard for me not to equate “colored satin” with those dyeable bridesmaid shoes.
I agree, Vodka. That definitley looks like a matching thong peeking through the fabric. Maybe that explains the face she’s making?

NO, no, zoom in- click on View Original at the bottom of each photo. The dress is quite modest.
I saw the aprony, fringed front and thought, “Oh, our Jessica was seduced by the siren song of those shoes and the clutch.” Then the back view showed a good excuse for the skirt fringe. The color is stunning, the fit is great. It looks well made and lovely for her.
I think the dress is fine, but would be fantastic with some tweaking. Shoes and clutch are perfection!

I agree that everything is little, cute and sparkly – quite appropriate for her. So often she used to look Matronly and Serious, and this is a nice lighthearted change of pace. She looks like she’s having fun in this, and that is surely the point of dressing up.
I agree that is is definitely nice to see her not looking 40 years older than she is.

But at least she looks her age. Does she often veer “old lady” clothes? And she’s short, isn’t she? I think short girls can go Tinkerbell sometimes.
Even if it is the drape of the dress, it looks vulgar. I’m sick to death of nekkid-clothes. They are not cute and fun, they are not sophisticated and sexy. If you put on a dress that makes it look like your underwear is on display, take it the hell off and put on something else.

But, it doesn’t look like her underwear is on display. You are misreading ONE photograph – if you google the dress you’ll see it looks nothing like underwear, it’s just a bad photo.

With only a few accesory changes, she could have worn this on Halloween and gone as a flapper. And that’s not an insult. Actually, I kind of wish she had gone full on flapper. It would have been extremely entertaining.
I really like it, especially with the shoes and clutch. The jade green accessories are the perfect touch.

I like the back and shoes better than the front.
I wish the straps were a little more delicate on the front, but otherwise, I like it. The shoes and clutch are a nice punch of colour, and the fringe and beading is fun.
I don’t love the back, but overall I think it’s a FAB — for her. It doesn’t stumpify or age her, which has usually been a huge problem with her styling. It’s also fun for the CMA event.
I actually love this! But not on her! And maybe not at the CMAs (appropriateness of fringe at a country awards show notwithstanding). I actually don’t think it’s flattering on her shape and I think something longer is better for the CMAs. But I covet the dress for myself. I don’t know where I personally would wear it, but we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it.
And yes, the back definitely comes close to tacky, but I don’t think it crosses the line, or at least, it wouldn’t on someone else. I don’t think she’s elevating this to its greatest potential.
Love it, dress, accessories, styling, and all. Love it on her, specifically, as well.

ADDENDUM: Although it really is too bad about that tattoo on her pretty little body. It does not work either as adornment on its own, or with this adorable outfit. I hope she re-thinks that self-presentation choice and gets it lasered off. The minor scarring that might result would look a LOT better.
It suits her figure and sge and she looks cute and happy. Shoes not to my taste…
I’m not fond of Hayden Pantywaist and she’s usually an automatic FUG for me, but this time I think this is young, fun and pretty! So, I say FAB!
