Why didn’t she ever take off her coat? Some of those pictures were taken indoors, where no one else was waring a coat. Doesn’t the entourage have someone whose job it is to carry the royal garment when it isn’t being worn? Did she figure that the coat had wrinkled the dress and she didn’t want a bunch of pictures of her looking all wrinkly? Is she one of those people who is always freezing once the temp dips below 75 Fahrenheit?
I love how in the last photo Kate is shaking the baby’s foot, as if it were a proffered hand, AS ONE DOES.
I noticed that, too! I hate that they have to be so formal with each other when out in public. To be honest, it’s kind of weird to me.

I also ADORE that in photo 10, Wills looks so guilty, like she’s gently chiding him for something and he’s like “you’re right, I’m sorry love.” Because in my head, he calls her “love” and “dahling” and “pet” and oh god I love them so much
The hair looks better without that green dress. I also love that in the shot of the patient taking phone snaps, they have their arms around each other like normal people would, rather than all formal and official.
Completely agree. So we can officially blame the dress, yes?
Re pic #3: Look at the size of that crowd! How does someone ever get used to seeing crowds like that every time you go out in public?!? I wonder if Kate’s still like “All of these people are here for me?”
These photos especially made me think what a strange (but lovely) life she leads.
I actually like the hint of leopard print under the demure coat. All-over leopard would be a little too much (not that I wouldn’t also be curious to see the whole dress).

Also, can’t remember where I read this, but apparently it was really, really windy there and Kate commented to someone that it was messing with her new hairdo.
Love her boots (also love that she seems to have favorite shoes that she wears frequently since those seem to have slightly scuffed toes).
The facial expressions are priceless (plaque pic, haha). And the baby in that last one was like “No way, strange lady, I am not gonna smile at you EVEN IF you are tickling mah feets.”

It was super windy (and freezing) here when they came on Wednesday, but it had the decency to not rain until slightly after their balcony appearance. Clearly the weather is a royal supporter (or at least a Wills and Kate fan)…

I like the boots, but I think the look would have worked better with more opaque tights. I have an issue with plain old hose and ankle boots, but with a nice dark tight, I think it’d be better.

I don’t love all the brown going on from the knees downward. I really don’t like the awkward height of the boots. Maybe knee boots would have been better.
Knee boots would have been much better. As much as I’d like to, I just cannot get on board the short boots with dresses/skirts trend. Too Katherine Heigl.
Those two! So good looking, so happy to be doing whatever odd English thing is required ( there is a thing about all the swans in GB belonging to the Queen and having a day to collate them or something). And her hair is so beautiful, and her coats, and her cute little boots. Really , if there is a perfect life on this crazy world ( and there isn’t ) then she has it with him. Well done.
I love how pics 8 and 9 have Kate, representing the best of British style juxtaposed against two other women (1 in each photo) representing the worst of British style. It kind of made me laugh. They are, in a way, different variations on each other. Yet one is super successful, and the other is… not.

Re: her new ‘do: I’m not as sure as I was yesterday. Those aren’t bangs if you can still tuck them behind the ears, they’re more like wings, or flaps. The Duchess is still young enough to wear real bangs. (but not as heavy as Taylor Swift’s, of course.)
The boots. I liked them from the side but thought maybe they were…dirty! From the front they also looked dirty. I think it’s great that she wears them a lot, and maybe she walked thru rain that day. But it was a turnoff. All else, as usual, fantastically beautiful on a woman with a smiling heart. I don’t think she’ll keep that haircut. It will require more product, get in her face anyway, and drive her nuts.
I am not a fan of the booties. I’m all of nothing when it comes to boots – knee high or just stick to pumps.
Love her coat, and she’s lovely as always. Does anyone think her hair is a touch lighter? I really didn’t like the hair when she wore that green Mulberry dress…but it’s better here.

Meanwhile, Kate looks great and the booties are really great. I am looking at her hair, though, and thinking about the subsequent post on GFY discussing Cute Short Hair. I think she would look even more smashing with shoulder-length hair, myself. Shorter, not short-short. Summon a minion with scissors immediately!

Regarding why she kept on her coat, I know it is very, very highly unlikely, but…
That dress looks like it could be made of a very thin material. I am wondering if in a camera’s light, too much of an undergarment (or flesh) could have been revealed.
I adore the coat, and the flash of animal print! And her hair looks lovely, but oh dear me I do not like those boots. She has such charming facial expressions all the time, though.

I really just love these two together. It makes me happy to see them happy and healthy and enjoying each other. I don’t know why since I’ve never met them and it doesn’t affect my life. But it does make me happy.
I wore tights the other day, and as I flopped over on my back trying to get them onto my second foot, I thought, “Kate Middleton must be really good at this.” Not super related to this post but it made me think of GFY.

do find it weird now her style is commented on as think of her as pretty normal but with excellent hair, clearly not suffering the poor quality London water the rest of us use!!
The hair doesn’t look as aggressively styled here and, therefore, doesn’t look as terrible. However, it’s still a terrible cut – I have heavy, longer hair that has been layered to take the weight off and give it movement and the secret is to make the layers blend. Her layer is heavy and puts a big blob of heavy hair right at her eye/cheekbone area. She needs a better stylist – surely, she of all people can find one.
Does no one else think that her new hair cut is just… not that different from her previous haircuts? Look at their engagement announcement pictures, she has the wing/bang thing going on there too.

re: Why doesn’t she take off her coat? It looks lke they just walked in and walked out of places without ever sitting down and staying. Also, she is a very slender person and probably does get cold easily. And the men are not wearing coats, it’s true, but they are all wearing suits, which provide way more insulation than the wispy little dress it looks like she’s wearing underneath.
