I think Demna is at a bit of an emotional crossroads or something. Designating your collection as a tribute to clothes of yesteryear that had a real POV feels a little like saying you’re missing this from your own work, no? Or maybe it’s a swipe at everyone else’s? And yet, so much of this is masks and jeans with upper thigh cutouts, and cropped coats and bulky layers and of course lingerie — which to me is more “view” than “point of view,” but whatever.
