Kensington Palace tweeted out a video of Kate’s speech at this event. It’s a sort of emotional one — in part because I think public speaking makes her a bit nervous, but also because I suspect the subject matter is close to her heart. I think it’s very wise of her to say aloud that being expected to be consistently blissed out and perfect as a mother is unreasonable, because you know everyone in the room thought, “oh, man, Kate has a ton of help, but she probably does know what it’s like for people to expect you to be happy all the time.”
