I read a story recently about how Kylie’s people can’t figure out why she’s a venerated megastar everywhere else in the world, and little more than a dance-hall moment over here. And her forthcoming book, celebrating her evolution over a twenty-five year music career, is the lynchpin of their approach to making her happen in the U.S. by positioning her as a fashion icon. Let’s just say I am not entirely sure she is helping her own cause.
