Are you ready to vote in the world’s most enormous poll? It’s after the jump, it’s real, and it’s spectacular.
(Also, a note: if you want to skip to a place in the slideshow, click into it. See those pics down at the bottom, and the arrows next to them? You can use those to sort of preview the whole thing, and then click into whichever post you’re looking for.)
(Another note: I always realize I forgot someone in creating the poll, so it’s in MOSTLY alphabetical order. If you can’t find your person, scroll allllllll the way down to the bottom where I had to add them at the end whilst cursing myself.)

Comments (66):
Lucy Liu was my Best Dressed by a landslide.
Worst dressed is always slightly harder but I had to go with Giuliana Rancic and her dilapidated brothel owner costume – the woman judges other peoples’ fashion choice so yeah, it’s only fair.
I wonder if Rancic’s top was supposed to look like a moth. Because the pattern on the lace makes me think that a giant moth is nesting on her collarbones every time I see it.
For me Jodie Foster was best-dressed but you didn’t even cover her outfit!
Agree! I’ve scrolled up and down a few times looking for her.
They also didn’t cover Jackie Weaver’s beautiful green gown. The only green gown of the night! So beautiful and age appropriate
WHY did you not cover or list Jodie Foster? Best Dressed by a million miles.
Sweet merciful Christ did Amanda Peet escape from the mental hospital to go to the Globes? First time I’ve seen that monstrosity.
Claire Danes, by a mile. Draped to subtly cover post-baby bumpiness, even though she ended having NONE OF THAT. Bitch. But the dress was beautiful, bumpiness or no. And her casual hair with it was perfect for the Globes.
I kind of wish Tina and Amy were separate categories. I loved how Tina looked (probably my favorite dress and overall look of the night) but not Amy so much. Sorry to be difficult!
Why are they together?? Tina would definitel have my vote. That green dress on her was spectacular
Absolutely! I was going to vote for Tina cause of that knockout green dress, but Amy – not so much. :/
I agree that Tina’s greeny-blue dress was amazing, but I’ve never seen a menswear-inspired look on a red carpet done as well as Amy did it. Her styling was perfect.
Was Amanda Peet wearing a hospital gown in that picture?
Isn’t the pic in the Perrey Reeves slide Em. Chiq? Or vice versa? I can’t ever remember what those gals look like. Or were they wearing the exact same thing?
Yes. The Perrey Reeves pic is Emmanuelle Chriqui, and it needs to be fixed. Thanks, Fug Girls, love your work!
I gave my best dressed to Jen Garner (though I wish Francesca Eastwood, Ms. Golden Globe, had been an option because I loved her vintage Armani).
Worst dressed went to Emma Roberts, because of all the sheer/lacy black things, her’s was the only dress that let me see the cut of her panties under the sheerness. Plus the bodice was just plain unflattering.
I had to go with Emma Roberts for worst as well, the see through, the bad corset, the panties you could see were the kicker though. Otherwise Amanda Peet was my runner up.
Sophia Bush for worst: if it makes me think of clowns, jellyfish and potato chips, it’s bad.
Kate Hudson for best: Cause she FINE. I loved the dynasty-ish vibe of her Alexander McQueen dress.
While many dresses were fug, at least they were an attempt to look nice. Amanda Peet’s hospital gown was not an attempt to look fancy but perhaps an attempt to look like she made it to the awards show despite being post-op?
I had to give the best to Tina and Amy since they had several dress changes and looked divine at each juncture.
Best was a difficult choice but I finally went with Jennifer Garner, I deeply adore the color and fabric and she just looked so GREAT! I wouldn’t say no to Lucy Liu’s dress either, loved the springtime in the middle of winter idea!
Was there a reason you didn’t cover Adele? Or was such the level of her blah-ness? Have I just answered my own question?
To me Adele seems to wear the same dress to every awards night!
Sometimes, people just fall through the cracks. Also, Adele looked like Adele and always looks exactly the same, which is probably why we forgot her. (Although I love her as a talent and she was adorable when she won.)
I had to go with Rachel Weisz for worst dressed. No one with a face that beautiful should wear something so ugly you can’t even think about her face. Plus, she had some of the best looking arm candy there that night and that dress was so distracting I couldn’t enjoy it.
For best dressed, I had a hard time choosing between Jennifer Garner and Amy & Tina, but I went with Amy & Tina because I *loved* Tina’s black and white red carpet dress.
Best: Mirren
Worst: Chastain
21 and 83 – so similar!
ps: If you haven’t seen the Kid Versions of some of the GG celebs, check out the tiny Lucy, the cutest thing I’ve seen on the internet all century: http://dlisted.com/node/48584/images/minilucyliu1.jpg
I feel like Jennifer Westfeldt isn’t getting enough love for her ensemble. It fits her beautifully. It’s a great colour. She accessorized perfectly. I loved her dress, even the big shiny circular thing on her stomach. So pretty!
Fantastic slideshow!
Can I please request that in your spare time (which I am sure you have none) can we see a slideshow or your review of the red carpet hangers-oners (PR people, etc.)?! I love looking behind the photo almost as much as I love looking at the intended person.
Lucy Liu for Best. No contest.
Worst was harder. I went with Rosario Dawson, just because I can’t believe how frumpy and unflattering it is.
Oh hell I just voted for Lucy Liu as worst dressed. I’m sorry Lucy, I meant best!
i voted for Amy and ina. I’m biased, sue me! also, worst for me is Jessica Chastain.. sure, there were more offensive dresses but she’s an A-Lister, a nominee, she should have known better. Plus i voted after seeing the accesories slides and seeing those shoes did her in!
I’m glad Amy and Tina were in there together, because it would have been so hard to choose between runners up Naomi Watts, Helen Mirren and Claire Danes. Loved Julianne Moore from the front, but hated the casual string at the top of the back. Would have looked so much more polished with a simple, thin (but not string) black strap running across the top of the back!
Although I hated Amanda Peet’s and Sophia Bush’s dresses more than Rachel Weisz’s in a vacuum, I had to vote Weisz because I just expect better.
Thanks for all the killer coverage!
Kate Hudson as best dressed, she looked divine! And while Amanda Peet’s is awful, at least she wasn’t in the actual red carpet, so I voted for Debra Messing which I found just terrible and unbelievebly unflattering.
I’m continuously baffled by the persistent inclusion of EVERYONE you covered/can think of in these stupid too-long polls. Sadly won’t be voting, yet again. C’mon fug girls, pare each category down at least one bit! At least only include each person in either ‘best’ or ‘worst’ if for some non-reason you insist on including every single person! We’re dying here! This is so much work! It dilutes the fuggery and fabbery!
Jodie Foster was my best dressed, but for people actually on the list: Lucy Liu and Kate Hudson were my bests (with Swift and Kidman in 3rd and 4th). Worst was so difficult. I had to go with Halle because she has been around long enough to know better than to show up in something that horrid. And she is getting too old for these shenanigans and it is starting to smell of desperation from someone who shouldn’t be desperate. A cry for help.
Though Giuliana should know better seeing as she is on the Fashion Police show. Remember WWJS (What Would Joan Say) in the future, sweetie.
For these types of things I tend to vote based on who was actually at the show on the carpet vs. those just at the parties. So, I resisted the urge to vote for Gyno Gown Peet for the worst and went with Jessica Chastain. Best for me was hard. I was torn between Claire, Jen Garner, Lucy Lui and someone else that I cant think of. In the end I went with Jen Garner because the dress was fab and I love her. And because even if Ben is a cheating ass bag, they still are really cute together.
I’m completely with you on your reasoning. It seems a bit unfair to compare actual gowns worn to the awards show to some of the crazy getups people wear to the parties (although I hate to complain about a website I’ve enjoyed free of charge for many years). I also voted for Jessica Chastain because to me hers was the worst of the awards show gowns.
Heather and I have discussed this and might change it for the next event; the reasoning is that when we do it that way, someone else complains that so-and-so at the party was so terrible, how could we leave her out?
I’ve always liked her as an actress, so it pained me to vote Amanda Peet for worst. But you can’t ignore that kind of full-on fuggery just because you feel like the person would be fun to have a drink with. Amy and Tina for best, and even though I told myself very sternly to only consider the outfits, I’m pretty sure that choice was influenced by my extreme girl crush on the two of them.
I really wish you had put Selena Gomez in the metallics post or something though. Because I genuinely loved her dress at the Vanity Fair Oscar party(it was a great post break-up dress).
Put Taylor Swift as best-dressed just for doing something new(though her hair could’ve been improved upon). My worst was Halle Berry for obvious painful dear-lord-why-why-why-would-you-wear-that-monstrocity reasons. so yeah. To me this year wasn’t as exciting as previous years in the fashion department, though there were a few gowns I loved.
I wanted to vote for Tina, but she was not a solo option. So I voted Claire Danes, because Spanx or no Spanx. she just pushed out a PERSON a month before rocking the hell out of that dress. I have to reward that. I almost went with Lucy Liu. I loved that dress so much more than I thought I would love a dress like that. I’m a Carolina Herrera fan though, so, there you go.
Worst dress was Giuliana. Amanda Peet was close, but at least she’s giving me crazy eyes. I have to believe something was legit wrong with her. Giuliana smiled like she did that on purpose and thought it looked good. Ugh.
Really wish we could pick our top and bottom 5….so hard to choose just one!
I find myself wondering if the many stars who have one vote for best dressed voted for themselves.
It was so hard to decide! My favorites were: Tina’s blue/green dress, Claire Danes, Jamie King, and Jennifer Garner.
Worsts: Emma Roberts and Jessica Chastain.
My worst was Anne Hathaway. She looked like a bored bride. Plus I hate white, it never looks good to me.
Best: Lucy Liu
Worst: Morena Baccarin. I feel like she had the most to work with and thus fell the hardest, although Rachel Weisz was a close contender. (If I could vote Biggest Disappointment, it would be Ms. Weisz.)
What is so offensive about Rancic’s dress? I don’t see it.
Somrthing’s wonky with the percentages. Right now, under “Worst Dressed,” Taylor Swift has 1% with 15 votes while Zooey Deschanel has 6% with 14 votes.
I had to go with Heidi Klum as worst dressed because she really should know better. Also, she’s got that body and that face and manages to look bad. JUST BE BEAUTIFUL AND STOP TRYING SO HARD. Sorry for yelling.
This was so easy!
Best — Lucy Liu by a MILE. Not only do I love everything about the dress — the blue, the careful placement of the floral print which I can assure takes some very careful fabric placement and cutting, the *pockets*, the faux panniers — but she wore it spectacularly. So gorgeous!
Worst — Poor Amanda Peet., who looks like an escaped mental patient in who spend the night before cutting out and gluing huge paper circles to her blue hospital gown.
I can’t vote?! HELEN MIRREN for BEST, Guilana Rancic for WORST!!
Amanda Peet looked like an escaped patient from a psychiatric unit. Not even her face could save that.
So difficult to pick just one in either category! Claire Danes (I’ve never seen her look better — and one month post pregnancy — unbelievable), Jessica Alba (the color and cut of what she wore was gorgeous on her), Kate Hudson, Jennifer Garner all stood out for me. After seeing Lena Durham in Tiny Furniture, she looked fantastic at the GGs, thought she made a lovely choice. Lucy’s dress was just a lot of big print for me, although she did pull it off nicely. Giuliana Rancic, Chastain (did she not see what her front was doing with that bodice?), Emma Roberts, Rachel Weisz — doesn’t she have an AA? She should’ve known better! — Amanda Peet, who also seems like she should’ve known better, plus she see-through brigade — sad!
I think there were people that looked worse than Amanda Peet. But she looked so so nuts and like she hadn’t even tried I had to give it to her. I wouldn’t wear that for a midnight supermarket run. Geez.
Best for me went to Naomi Watts, I couldn’t stop looking at that amazing dress! But Sally Field and Lucy Liu were awesome also
Where is Jodie Foster? And if you add her, can I please change my vote for best dressed?
It’s too difficult to pick one out of so many. IMO it would be better if either of the two options are used: 1. allow only 5-15 looks to choose from or 2. allow all decent looks but have us pick more then one (for example 5). I believe our brains work best at choosing roughly 5-10%.
My best dressed were: Claire Danes, Julianne Moore, Lucy Liu, Helen Mirren, Marion Cotillard, Odette Annable and Naomi Watts. Jennifer Garner can sneak in too. I have no idea who was The best out of those lovely ladies but I voted Marion because I figured she won’t get much love.
I wanted to vote for Jodie as best dressed, but alas I cannot. So I settled for Connie Britton, mostly because of her hair.
Best : Tina and Amy
I can’t believe Amanda Siegfried isn’t getting more vote with her “B by Waldorf” design. It’s awful. I hates it. And she is so pretty. It looks like a toilet paper party game design from a bridal shower…
Can we have a write-in for Jodie as Best Dressed?!?
slide 56 – Catherine McPhee, those shoes are 362 shades of cray cray
Hey!!! You left out Jody Foster…. NOT FAIR!!!!
My Top 5 and Bottom 5. The two in all caps are my overall best and worst.
Best
ANNE HATHAWAY
Kate Hudson
Lea Michele
Lucy Liu
Nicole Richie
Worst
AMANDA PEET
Emma Roberts
Kerry Washington
Lana Del Rey
Louise Roe
For best dressed, I had a hard time choosing between Tina/Amy and Jennifer Garner – but because I so want Jennifer Garner’s dress for myself (or a more affordable version of it!), I had to choose her. Also, I loved Tina’s outfits, but didn’t love Amy’s AS much.
For worst dressed, I had to choose Jessica Chastain. That dress was SO unflattering on her AND since she was a nominee and eventual winner – she was in the spotlight the whole time, unlike most of her worst dressed competition.
I looked at Anne Hathaway and saw Audrey Hepburn. For me, best dressed of the evening. And I am so over Halle Barry and JLo. Been there-done that-seen it a bizillion times, don’t want to see it again.
Man, I thought I was going out on a limb by voting for Lucy. I also loved two WAGS- Jennifef Westfeldt and Stacy Keibler.
JODIE FOSTER BEST DRESSED
JOOOOODDDIIIIEEEE FOOOSSSSTTEERRRRR
Amanda Peet looks like she escaped from a Catholic hospital ward, pausing only to swipe some dark hose and shoes from a nun’s locker. With that beautiful face and hair. A fashion crime!
Salma Hayek was absolutely stunning! I don’t normally care for black dresses on the red carpet, but hers fit like a glove and it was interesting without being whacko (Halle Berry, take note please). Props to Kate Hudson, Zooey Deschanel and Lucy Liu too.
Heidi Klum’s frankly bizarre and ill-fitting monstrosity got my ‘worst’ vote, did her stylist pass out on hairspray fumes or something? Someone should have stopped her from going out in public looking like that. There are too many also-rans in this category to mention, except for Lana Del Ray, who looked like she’d just escaped from a high-dependency unit.
