This show didn’t feel that inspiring to me. I liked SOME of it just fine, but I think sometimes she’s feeling around for an edge she doesn’t have, or doesn’t need. It’s okay for a designer to admit and accept that they have a sweet spot, and just serve it and serve it well. Like, you don’t see Naeem Khan trying to push street style down the runways, and nor should he. Because he is brilliant at beauty. These are just selects from the Monique show, but I wasn’t feeling the peddling of fantasy as much throughout.
Having said that, there is some stuff that’s at least dramatic to look at, and we’ve included the video of the show below. A warning: Mute your computers if you don’t want sound.
