Compared to Danielle Brooks, Carey Mulligan, Sandra Hüller, and even co-star Jodie Foster, Best Actress nominee Annette Bening’s awards season wardrobe is fairly small. She wasn’t nominated for the BAFTA, and she skipped the SAG Awards, and didn’t do a lot of the other folderol around the awards. (Her husband Warren Beatty didn’t come with her to any events, and I confess to being low-key worried about his health.) Nevertheless, she and her stylist Linda Medvene (who also works with Sterling K. Brown) really stuck to a cohesive tone for this awards season: Competent, elegant, assured.
