It never stops thrilling me when Laura Carmichael shows up places looking delightful, because people are so mean about Poor Edith on the show and in real life. The Untimely Departure of Matthew may have been the best thing that ever happened to her, because she’s gotten a lively wardrobe upgrade and Lady Mary is stuck grieving and walking the land.
